  1. I just had Kumho Ecsta 4X installed on my IS250. Very pleased so far. Handles well and comfortable. Too early to tell anything about wear. Seems like a very good tire for the price.
  2. Thanks tex2670. Did anyone mention what causes the problem? Mileage related? How many miles on your '07? Just curious,
  3. CSP (Customer Support Program) is for 2006 GS300 and 2006 to certain 2010 IS250/IS250C. It is for Engine Misfire (Intermittently Runs Rough). The support program is for 9 years with no mileage restrictions from the vehicle's in-service date. During that time, Lexus will fix it for free. Looks like it involves replacing the piston rings or pistons. They need the car for about 4 days or more! Anyone heard of this or had any problems like this? Thanks
  4. They don't around here either. The only time I see a price advertised is on a used car. Silly me. I guess I'm missing the entire purpose of this thread. According to the OP: "People are always wondering if their getting a fair price on their new car purchase. Here are a few luxury new car prices from the Central Iowa area for a comparison." For some reason, I was expecting prices that people are paying, not lease info. No big deal :)
  5. I think he means price data as in what the cars cost, not monthly lease payments!
  6. They sure did :) . Another airline here in California which had the hot pants was PSA, Great stuff! I'm 70 and started flying in a big way (marketing/program management in the aerospace industry) in the 70's. Believe it or not, flying was actually kind of fun in those days. Today you couldn't get me near an airport
  7. Good idea! You might also keep your eyes open for a new car wash :)
  8. Can't help with the map question (don't have nav), but the question regarding key failure is covered quite well in the owners manual. Enjoy the car.
  9. That's the same color combination I have on my 2010 IS250. You'll love it! I get many compliments on this color combination. By the way, the exterior color is like getting two colors in one - at night ,it looks like a dark gray metallic, and in the sunlight, a dark charcoal metallic! Nice. By the way, the carpet on the IS is indeed darker (not the khaki color) - looks nice.
  10. Infiniti M37. I almost got a G37 when I got my Lexus IS, and have been interested in Infinitis ever since. Everything I've read about the new M37 sounds great. By the way, I'm not sure I'd rule out a G37, but the M will be more luxurious for your mom.
  11. XM sent me a letter (actually, I think they sent several) with all the info required to sign up on their site. Can we assume that you did not receive such correspondence? Bill K.
  12. We should sent these drivers back to driving school and remind them of what the laws of physics can do to a moving object at 65 MPH. That's not where I'd like to send them
  13. Thank you - found it. I didn't realize the page was one of the "wide ones" so I didn't even see it. Sorry if I wasted anyone's time. Bill K.
  14. Under the old system I could easily click on this. Now I can't seem to find it. Please help - and thanks for all the work you do! Bill K.
  15. At Crown Lexus in Ontario CA I got an '09 ES350 with about 9000 mi on the odometer. Reasonably clean. Felt a bit like a big boat compared to my IS, but a really nice car.
  16. Unless one wants an attractive "coupe-like" 2+2 with outstanding agility and braking, and excellent RWD handling. Different strokes for different folks ;) Bill K.
  17. That's good to know, G Man. I just hope they do it on all used and new vehicles that use drive-by-wire. Seems feasible since it's relatively inexpensive. Bill K.
  18. I think they should do the "smart brake/brake override" on every Toyota and Lexus vehicle that has an electronic throttle control. It's just good design practice - GM, Chrysler, Mercedes and VW (and others?) have this feature. Perhaps it would go a long way toward cleaning up Toyotas tarnished reputation. I don't know. Bill K.
  19. What makes me even more nervous is the fact that the pedal issue may not even be the cause of these runaway accelerations (many folks, including me, don't think it is the cause). It appears that the best thing Toyota could do is install the "smart brake" fix on every car they've sold with electronic throttle control. This shuts the engine to idle when the brakes are applied hard. This may be very, VERY expensive - but many owners are getting hysterical about this - and this may be the only way to appease them. Just my opinion. Bill K.
  20. Great review - Thanks. I read many auto reviews on the internet, but often feel that many of them are questionable and not objective. Good to read a knowledgeable review by someone who is not biased.
  21. $2k - that's not a "big one" ??? ;)
  22. Every case is different . I'm 69 and have an IS250 for it's nimbleness and RWD handling. But my wife has a second generation Cadillac CTS which has many of the comfort/luxury traits of the ES350. And we can trade off whenever we want. So different strokes for different folks. They're all good cars (especially compared to many of the cars when I was young ), so just drive and enjoy. Bill K.
