  1. Just posted this the other day, and now I can't find it, so sorry for the repeat if it is posted elsewhere. I have a 2011 ES350 with 215/55 17 tires. Those are the only size tires the car can come with. I would like to go with a bigger tire to improve handling. To get the same diameter, I would need a 235/50 17, or a 235/45 18. Please let me know if going from the 215 stock tire to the 235 will fit properly on the ES350. I wouldn't think it would be a problem, but I am not sure sonce the factory does not offer a tire size option. Thanks all.

  2. Hey, anyone that has 20's or anything larger than stock, could you tell me how your ride quality is ? before and after ? how big of a difference etc etc I have a 2004 ES330 , and am thinking of getting 20's , but might just go with 18's or something more moderate if the ride quality suffers too much... any personal experience would help thanks !!

  3. Are there any actual owners of the HS 250h out there? If so, I'm curious what your real-world mileage has been?

  5. Hi I just bought a used 2000 LX470. It looks and rides great. I need new front leather seat bottoms other than that all is good so far. Question. Did the 2000 lx470 come with stock skid plates? I looked under the vehicle and don't see any. If not would you recommend the SLEE steel skid plates? I'm using it for mainly on road, but will take it up into the mountains to camp, fish and hunt. No Rubicon runs but some fairly serious stretches of four wheel drive roads. Thanks! Great forum.

  6. A couple of weeks ago I had a Alpine 7" unit installed in dash of my commuter car. The dash piece/surround is part of aftermarket kit for the 2006-2011 Honda Civics. I like most aspects of the audio and Bluetooth, still getting used to the nav.

  7. OK. Explain this to me? I don't use a smart phone and because of that, I've never activated my "Blue Tooth" service. Just a short while ago, I was pulling into my garage when the "Blue Tooth" system turned on and I could hear the phone ringing. Someone said hello, and I replied....it was my Mother in Law trying to answer her ringing phone. Then my wife's voice came on. My wife was trying to call her Mother but my "Blue tooth got brought in. Any thoughts? Paul

  9. Over the last few months I've been having a problem with the fuel gauge on my 1991 LS400. While driving with a relatively full tank, the needle will slowly drift to a quarter or so. After a while, I'll notice that it has moved back up to what is probably the correct level. I pulled the connector on the sender at the tank and cleaned the contacts. For a few days, it seemed that that had fixed the problem but, alas, it has returned. I've read other threads here and elsewhere that talk of changing out the electrolytic capacitors on the instrument panel circuit board. I don't remember seeing what symptom or symptoms the various posters were trying to correct so I don't have any feel for whether or not that might solve my problem. I suppose it could be the sender unit itself. I did read one post that talked about cleaning the variable resistor on the sender but, again, it didn't say what symptom was being addressed. So, based on my description of the fluctuating indicator, any ideas on where the problem might lie?

  12. Hi, I was driving a CT200 the other week and noticed a high pitched squeal coming from the pedal area as soon as I touched the brakes. It didn't matter what the speed was, but at low speed the sound was more noticable because road noise is diminished. It kind of sounded like a combination of hydraulic fluid swooshing through an orifice and an electronic high pitched tone. The salesman said it was normal. I wanted to ask a mechanic but none were available. I've read a few posts on various forums and several people have complained about it. Anyone know the sound? Is there a fix? Has anyone confronted their dealership about it? Thanks.

  14. Waaait!! You don't understand what you are doing and you may cause yourself a lot of grief. The accuracy of the TPMS has nothing to do with the "reset" switch. The accuracy is solely dependent on the accuracy of each wheel sensor - there are five (4 on the ground and the spare). The wheel sensors are typically very accurate and each is completely independent of all the others. It is possible that you have some sort of display problem, but that is unlikely. I suggest that you check the accuracy of your hand held tire gauge as that is the most likely source of your problem. The "reset" switch is for establishing a "tire pressure benchmark" in the car's computer that is used to calculate the low-pressure-warning thresholds. The benchmarks for all five tires are established when the "reset" is activated. If you reset the benchmarks improperly you may cause the TPMS to alarm when the tires are not low, or, you may cause the TPMS to fail to properly warn you of a low tire.
