I have a 1992 Lexus LS400. The wood trim on the console where the gear shift is has chipped up and broken off in some areas. Rather than going to the dealership, I would like to know if anyone has a link(s) to where I could get that wood trim. also, possibly some tips on getting the old stuff up and laying the new down.

I'm new to these forums and I couldn't find another section to put this in...

Yeah, ebay is what I was about to suggest as well. Just type lexus ls400 in the search field and hit enter. You are sure to find a few. Be careful you know what you are getting though -- some are plastic and just look like wood. I think ours are real wood.

correct me there if I am wrong

what I would like is a steering wheel with the wood for my 91

Well, I think it's plactic stuff anyway and not real wood...I didn't think any Lexus vehicle would be in a salvage yard or very hard to find at least...

Well I know they get wrecked, but I figured by the time I get to them they are stripped.

Incidentally, how would I get that veneer off of that console in the salvage car?

Think about visiting Exoticwoods.com or some of the others listed after a Google Search. You can always custom cut them and have it Vaneered by an expert.

i would not recommend to put this "wood" trim kit for several reasons

first of all, it fades away and starts cracking in a year or so

it blocks signs on the audio unit

if installed incorrectly would start coming out soon
