Germanium Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Hi guys, I am new to the community. Just got a scratch on the back door right behind the wheel. I don't know how and when it happened or it was me driving careless or somebody in a parking lot. Anyway the damage was done. I did a little bit googling, but not sure what I need to do if I want to touch up myself. Do I also need primer and clear coat paint? The Lexus obsidian base color paint I found it. I have a flickr photo, but the forum won't let me use it for some reason.... <iframe src="https://www.flickr.com/photos/124823889@N04/14450032426/player/" width="75" height="75" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen></iframe> Thank you guys...
13IS250C Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Is it all the way down to the metal? If not, Scratch Doctor by Nu-Finish is a great product. I'm amazed at some of the blemishes I have gotten off of cars with it. Also....welcome to LOC.

The whole scratch (white + grey) may be 3 in long and quarter inch wide. I searched the previous threads. If i fun my finger over it, my nail won't catch it. That area is surprisingly smooth. But I could see definitely.
