infamous1212
I just purchased a '95 sc300 with 182,000 miles but still runs like a champ. I want to boost it to maybe 18-20lbs but i want to know how should start or more like where should I start with internals of course. Any ideas? It would be very much appreciated. JIBBBY
You may want to post this thread on the Clublexus forum or Lextreme.com forum... There are few options that you can go...

92Lex
Your car isn't going to run like a champ, with 18-20 psi of boost. Internals? Fully build it. What is your budget? Who cares about how many psi that your motor is seeing. Why are you even shooting for 18-20 psi? What are your rwhp goals?
menappi
Haha nice pic, but check out CL, they'll be able to help you more.
infamous1212
Ok, basically about 700hp... that's what i'm aiming for and the budget is not an issue right now.
jzz30
for 700 i think you may need to run race gas. but if cost is not an issue then you will need internals, such as rods and pistons. at that level the stock intake manifold may need to be changed out to a plenum style more or less like the GTE. in otherwords its going to be more cost effective to swap the GTE in and get a good turbo setup like a hks T51R kai. stock GTE blocks are known to hold upwards of 900 hp
schott1984
700...900HP? Jesus... I need a higher paying job! How much would it cost after buying the car to make an SC300 push that?
JIBBBY
Why 700hp? That is aweful lot of horsepower to be dishing out in an SC300...400whp alone will get the car moving pretty damn well... 700hp you may start breaking drivetrain parts...That is a hefty goal
jzz30
figure 10g for the turbo upgrade kit on a GTE engine, management, misc... add another 10g's and you probably got ~700hp. supra engines are easy to make power on. just throw monster boost with a large frame turbo and your there. just dont expect it to be a responsive auto cross car or anything. by the time the turbo spools up your done with the course
manifoldmike
2mm head gasket, head studs, r154 conversion and a big !Removed! turbo.
JIBBBY
I say stick with the 1uz-fe motor which is so much cheaper and then throw a single garrett GT34r turbo on it and boost it up to 400whp.. You'll save thousands... Did you know the 1uz-fe motor weigh 130 pounds less then the 2JZ-GTE?...Torque spec's on the V8 designed 1uz-fe's are better then the I-6 2JZ-GTE's... Other then the 1000hp holding capacity of the 2jz's the 1uz-fe is just as good a motor...Throw some forgies on the 1uz-fe and then you have a better motor that weighs less if you must have 700-1000hp..... In the end you still save money with 1uz-fe.... So many people are so awww'd by the 2JZ motors because of their stoutness and just overlook the 1uz's and all the other factors involved.. 92Lex
It would be a waste to have goals of only 400 whp, with that turbo. That turbo only shines at 17+ psi.
JIBBBY
Ok, how about two GT25's when shooting for 400-500whp? Those two little babies combined would give you very little or no lag and if they are setup correctly could give you a wicked power band... I think an M112 Eaton charger wouldn't be a bad option either if you can make it fit...

cagray88
If you are going for 700whp that can be done on the stock engine but I'd go with 2jz-get pistons and a thicker head gasket, 2jz-get manual transmission, big !Removed! turbo setup, and of course tuned. This setup will probably set you back around ~10k because the turbo setup for something like this will cost you around ~7k. I've seen it done.... You are just proving my point?? "Guy's Lexus SC300 that we know. This was a Dyno in Indiana. His car wasn't running correctly on all cylinders and since he couldn't do the dyno pull himself he didn't let the tech go to redline or use the nitrous so the car should have been putting down over 1000hp i believe, runs mid/low 9's but doesn't get traction." They say he is pushing over 1000whp so are you saying 700whp isn't possible?? I don't see what you are getting at?? Boost Logic just did a sc300 recently and on the stock block with turbo/tuning/etc it put down around 750whp(I live right next to boost logic). So wtf are you getting at?
