Lizonya Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 On new 2007 black sapphire pearl paint, dust attracts like a magnet. What repells dust? Should I try wiping with Bounce fabric softener sheets?
SW03ES Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 Nooo...those sheets will scratch the hell out of the plate. Unfortunately, thats just part of having a dark colored car. You can play around with different waxes, some attract more dust than others. But you'll probably have to get used to just washing weekly.
backwoods lex Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 When I get a LIGHT amount of dust on my car, I sometimes use the California Car Duster. It works great for a day or two after a wash, but you have to use it gently.
SKperformance Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 The better the car is waxed the more dust will settel on it.
adam c Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 California car duster is a great product. They also make a mini duster that is nice for dash & interior.
mburnickas Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 California car duster is a great product. They also make a mini duster that is nice for dash & interior. Some products from CG and Fk have anti-static in them. Work good too.
greggebhardt Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 My LS460 sucks dust up like crazy after each waxing. I t must create a static charge or something. Seems to ease after the first wash after wax.
SW03ES Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 It really depends on the wax and the towels used to buff it off...
mburnickas Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Finish with FK146, Fk425 of CG speed wipe.
BMWWW Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Finish with FK146, Fk425 of CG speed wipe. +1 for the recommendation of FK 425! You can use this stuff for the interior too! (Dash, electronics, and even TV's in your house!) --Gabe
TOGWT Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Anti-Static Detail Spray: Finish Kare- 425 Spray Detailer – http:// www.fk1usa.com is produced with polymer resins, lubricants, Ulra violet radiation (UVR) inhibitors and patented anti-static agents that gently remove fingerprints, smudges, and other light contaminates while creating reduced dust attraction. For use on paint, glass, chrome, gel coat, fibreglass and Plexiglas (See also Car Duster) Note- the use of polyester towels and friction on any surface will cause static, this can be avoided by using a 100% cotton towel (http//:www.DFTowel.com) Maintenance- use a car duster, gently wiping (with negligible pressure) in one direction only FWIW: Finish Kare are a well established company with some very innovative products...junk-I think not
