slowmoe
Just picked up mine yesterday from the Lexus dealer: 2003, 35K, Black/Grey CPO to 100K - GREAT CAR!!! The front end seems to bounce a lot over bumps though... as if the shocks are bad but they're hydrolic right. Any other experiences like this? Pitbull
How long do you think I can keep the 2004 LX going? It seems great so far!! 400K miles with normal service.
denslexusgx470
Engine may last 400k miles, but you'll definitely be spending a lot of $$$ on other electronic things that simple cars like Toyota and Honda don't have. ;)

Silver0066
How long do you think I can keep the 2004 LX going? It seems great so far!! 400K miles with normal service. 2000 LX purchased new. 167,000 miles and running like a sewing machine and looks new. Only problems over the years have been the antenna stopped working twice, a mirror needed fixing, and an exhaust leak which was fixed under warranty. I had the 90,000 mile service at Lexus which included the timing belt and water pump. It was very expensive. Biggest problem....Lexus Dealers rip off their customers when it comes to repair. Also, in my area, the work is sloppy. I avoid them whenever I can.
congo34zulu
I have 81,000 on a '98 and lovin' it ! The only thing I have had to repair is the Starter !
jmansargent
1999 Lx470 with 110,000 miles, runs great. I need to replace the water pump and timing belt though. I Plan on adding Bf Goodrich all terrains and brushguard with winch maybe soon.
ait109
2000 LX470 with 110K. Has never left me stranded. But did recently spend several thousand dollars at my indy shop (whom I trust) to do 90+105 k service (timing belt water pump), replace front axle, fix power steering leak, replace leaking shocks and other misc maintenance items. Also spent time to replace steering column lock assembly when it broke in my driveway. Only outstanding issues are an exhaust manifold leak and side view mirrors that I can't seem to adjust anymore. Golfson
WOW! don't you guys drive you LX?! Bought my 2000 LX a year and a half ago with 76,500 miles (Not KMS, i am in Canada but the car's from California, so its in miles), Currently is at 108,300 miles, so i drove 31,800 miles in a year and a half! NO problems at all with the LX! (knock on wood) long drive to mountains in the winter and hauling a boat in the summer, still going strong! although i have been hearing a little rattling noise from the center consol, but all mechanical and electronics works perfect! Wondering what mileage people have on thier LX Mine is a 99 LX470 with 90,000 miles *i meant your instead of you ;) Mine is a 2000 LX470 with 57,900 Mine is a 2000 with 69,000 miles... but just today the check engine has come on so not sure what to think of that.. will contact the dealer on Monday Mine is the same year (2000), with 57,900 miles but today had the CV Boots replaced both sides, antenna mast replaced and it cost $1.000 dolllars ouch.....have you had your boots replaced? I'm not too familiar with longevity of lexus boots. i have to replace the CV Boots too, is it a big hassel? i've heard that the brakes have to be taken off, this and that has to be taken apart in order to put the boots in, is it true? tsavo
1999 crossed over 200K in June of '10, I love this vehicle. I am starting to get AHC issues though - kind of like your 95 year old grandfather saying his back hurts.
surferreal
I purchased a used 2001 LX 470 in the fall of 2004 with 38,000 miles on it..... I just hit 240,000 miles with no MAJOR issues, just normal fixes... My rear differential started howling recently, the dealer wants about $3200 to replace it. I am going to a 4x4 specialist to re-build it for about $1600...I hope this works....I would like to keep it for 2 more years.
Ron V
Bought my '98 in 2000 with 32k miles on it. I now have 189k miles on it and still going strong!

usnagent
I have a 1998 LX470 (named Goliath) with 388K miles that looks and runs as good as the day I bought it with only one minor exception. Every now and then I get a check engine light as a result of a P0441 code. I have not been able to figure out the cause for this error although it does not impact the performance of the vehicle to any great degree. Any ideas out there on how to make this error go away for good?
sts66charger
180,000 some problems, but still rides like new and much better than 98% of the other vehicles on the road
DWB1113
My Lexus is a 2000 with 127,000 miles. I've had one minor electrical problem that ran about $1,000 to repair and most recently I had to have it towed due to the ignition coil going out while I was traveling through a small Oklahoma town. I bought this truck from my father who purchased it new in 2000. Only repair needed today is some repair to the leather console top from regualr wear and the chrome trim on my tailgate is beginning to bubble. Any recommendations for the chrome???
