lexusk8
I installed a set of Denso Iridiums in my '01 ES a few months ago, during the time when I had 90K on the odometer. Those spark plugs were about $12.99 USD each, and I got them from the local Autozone store. The old ones that I took out were the factory NGKs. sunman
i starting to change the plugs out in my car. THe 2 under the intake manifold are a ROYAL P.I.T.A. I did manage to get them finally. The tips of one the plugs broke when it fell. Can I get it locally at pepboys?
sunman
I managed to get the plug locally at pepboys. I installed them already. Car runs great. Idles' better. I don't think there will be any difference in fuel intake but I will check tomake sure. The old plugs were in bad shape.
Senna4ever
Two questions: are the bolts for the engine cover standard bolts? The plugs at the back of the engine look like they are a PIA to get to. Are they?
eman_be_lexin
yup!!!!
NeiLtYmE
took me 30 minutes to get a smart way into there. Patience is key... and a little bit of chucking tools across the driveway
SKperformance
An easier way to acess the back also is to remove one bolt from the dogbone mount and have the transmission in park as you park it on a slant forward this will cause the engine to rock forward for added clearance. then place into neutral to rebolt the mount
Emilio
Do any of you know the size of the hex tool for the manifold cover? I'm having a difficult time trying to change my spark plugs and wires. Thanks!
