jeptik
Did that, skperformance, helped a bit and then the problem returned.....
SKperformance
where did you get your motorvac done and what did they charge you? 2 other bad posibillities a bad egr which would show a code or a knock sensor also.
jeptik
I had my injector flush done at my mechanic and it cost me $80. No codes were showing up on the scanner....my mechanic and the dealership (Erin Park Lexus) checked it and nothing on the scanner. However, the "Check Engine Light" came on yesterday, so I am hoping that if it is scanned now, the codes will pop up... My mechanic is checking to see if he can get "used" or "rebuilt" injectors....a new one costs $170 + tax. My vechile is a 1992 with 370000K and rust spots, so I really don't want to shell out too much money on it...
jeptik
I get the feeling that an injector flush and a "motorvac" that you are referring to are two different things....can you advise me on the "motorvac" treatment??
jeptik
The other thing I should mention is that the dealership told me that two of my cylinders were not firing properly...they did a compression test...that's why I was thinking faulty injectors... amf1932
What was the results of the compression test? If any of the cylinders were more then 10% lower(psi) then the other cylinders, then it indicates either poor piston rings or leaky valves. jeptik
The tests came in fine...dealer said they were all within the range they were supposed to be....however cylinder 3 at the rear and cylinder 4 in front were not "firing" properly... SKperformance
A motorvac uses a machine and a high pressure gas solution to clean everythign in the engine. It is like cleaning the injectors on the bench without removing them or atleast as close as you will get to having them cleaned without removal $80 is too cheap it is probably the canned stuff which uses vacume to suck it in and clean it up .no where near a motorvac
dropspace
whats the best place to get a motorvac? do the toyota/lexus dealers do them or is it better to find a shop that specializes in it?
SKperformance
look in the yellow pages for a local shop with the machine most dealers do not have the machine as it takes away from their parts and labour sales
