  1. Nica, if G Man is correct, you have nothing to worry about. If Lexus changed the TSB due to supply in demand, you can still wait till they get the driveshaft TSB going again because you still have a little under 4 years of warranty, and about over 40k miles left on it, so you have plenty of time. ;)
  2. There are people that want the tonneau cover though, to cover up their belongings in the trunk. ;) Not possible if you have third row.
  3. Maybe not. Maybe as long as you show a library card, you're good. LoL
  4. How did you know this? Haven't you had your driveshaft replaced already? Replacing so many driveshafts must have made a big dent in Toyota's $$$ so they're cutting a lot of slack! :(
  5. yes the vsc will beep if you get the car too turned around, but i highly doubt the vsc would be kicking in while he's parking.:whistles: Well I was talking about the answer to the first post/question. We kinda side-tracked with andrecat112's question on beeping when he was parking, which I THINK is a different thing from the beeping in the first post. ;)
  6. LoL. I agree If I were in his position and the vehicle seemed like a space ship with weird controls and levers, I myself might have a hard time shifting the car also. lol. It's like my friend's S40. At first, I tried opening the locked door (after driving it) and noticed that it wouldn't unlock/open. Then I asked if i needed to do something for it to open (maybe a safety feature? <_< ) but then he just said to open the handle twice and it would unlock. :o :whistles:
  7. Looks nice. ;) Was the road really windy or is it just a "mirror" image? :o
  8. I merged both the topics since I think they are almost identical topics. ;)
  9. wow. I really wish I had the time to go to one of these. Do they have an off-road course for the GX and/or LX and their competitors?
  10. could it be some sort of VSC beeping? i just watched the videos someone posted in the general forum of their day during the lexus test drive, and i noticed that when he drove fast in the RX and SC, and drove fast on turns, the car beeps! idk if it's the same beep black_beauty is talking about.
  11. just remember Skperformance's rules at the top of this forum.
  12. That's what I was kinda thinking of. I'll check that. If the 4Runner wasnt here, it would be obvious that it came from the GX but since both are rear wheel drives, its hard to tell! :chairshot:
  13. moved to ES forum. ;)
  14. i think it might not fit. it looks like the 03s and newer have a bigger grille. i could be wrong though.
  15. I know that I have a leaking oil problem with the odyssey, but here's something new, there's oil stains on the rear part of my garage! i haven't parked the odyssey in reverse in my garage and so i have a suspicion that it's coming from one of the gas guzzlers. Now I doubt that it's the 4Runner, so could it possibly be the GX? Has anyone else experience oil leaks coming from the rear of the vehicle?:cries:
  16. The rear is not a major concern or problem. Have you noticed, that there is a version of the Suburban and Tahoe that has a split rear door, and doesn't have a rear wiper? Be thankful we have two options for the rear wiper. Honda only offers a continuous mode, and it really bothers me that it will continuously wipes when i need it to wipe after a few seconds when the water has accumulated!
  17. For one thing, it's considered "wear and tear" and the dealer will think that you didn't take good care of it. You can't get away with everything! Yes they may believe you but they will definitely not budge in. For one thing, as i mentioned, YOU ARE OUT OF WARRANTY so anything beyond that is just useless. Plus, as you did mention, it is a $3k+ thing, so definitely it won't fly with the dealers. I remember my dad broke the coat hanger in my GX, and the dealer replaced it (well it was in warranty) for free BUT that was OUR fault, and not a defective part. IT was a cheap thing so dealer will replace it w/o any questions. Go ahead and try other dealers (cuz no one can really stop you) but they will say the same. I mentioned here before that my dealer scratched up my rim, but it took me forever to get the dealer to retouch my rim. It wasnt a regular scratch, but a "graffiti" like lettering (an L and F on my left front rim) but at first they wouldn't budge in. Definitely, not my fault because i dont write on my rims!
  18. technically you are "cheating" them because you didn't take care of the leather properly, and it is out of warranty so they are totally correct in their stance. Just go out and buy some seat covers and you won't even remember that your leather is worn out. ;) I know of someone that bought a new Hybrid Highlander back in May and she got seat covers on top of her leather seats! (which I thought was absurd because seat covers only helps if you have cloth seats). ;)
  19. Welcome and Congrats on the LX450! If you have any questions or concerns about your new vehicle, don't mind asking any of us here. ;)
  20. I knew it had to be a sulfur smell once you said it was coming from the back. I've had that happen a couple times, but mine's not "smelling" very consistently so I haven't brought it in yet. As for the sound, I'm not sure if it is normal or not.
  21. Well you can, but if something breaks, that particular thing won't be covered under warranty,
  22. No problem. BUT remember this is what i think. There's is a possibility that certain Toyota dealerships MIGHT not do Lexus services so I would check with your local Toyota dealer first before you plan your future services in advance thinking that they will do it. ;)
  23. Well did you get that advice from the dealership that told you that you have a VVT-i engine in your GX but actually you don't?
  24. Mehullica, How do I send a personal message. When I tried, it says "I am not allowed to use messenger features in this forum". Thanks for your help!! tjsingh, that's because you dont have enough posts to PM other members. When you reach, I think, 20 posts, you can PM anyone. ;)
  25. vibration on acceleration? sounds a little different. Drive the vehicle about 1k miles and assess it's characteristics and see if it's still there. Sometimes it's just characteristics or adjustments of new engines. ;)
