What did they do differntly then the prev times that fixed it this time? ← that, i truthfully have to say, i don't know! ;) but the tech who did it finally used their knwoledge they learned at Lexus school and finally applied it to my GX! :cheers::cheers: ← Please shed some light on this. What does your repair reciept say?? Thanks in advance. ← Probably only that they applied more lube to the works. After having ALL the currently known patches/splints/bandaids installed to mine including new shaft, lapping and drilling (what the heck kind of a fix is drilling through the center of my shaft, anyway), they now only squirt more lube in and it takes the problem down a notch for around a thousand miles. Then it kicks back into defect mode. ← oh man! reading this, now i think i felt it today, but only once!

see, what some of you don't understand (no offense) is that the realtors have to take some precautions with clients, especially if they meet the clients at an open house or at a floor call. Now if ur dealing with a long time friend, yes u can use a Lexus or luxury car. But if it's someone u just meet at a open house, or picked up from a floor call, take precautions! people always try to find loopholes to file a lawsuit against realtors. My dad's a realtor and he never uses a Lexus in the business. WHY? well a good friend of my dad is also a realtor, gave my dad a precaution about how clients are and that we shouldn't be driving luxury cars when showing properties. and let's put it this way, the top agent in my dad's office, who earns more than what a doctor earns in a year, drives a PRIUS! seeing him in a prius, would u think he was making a lot of $$$? NO!

Man, if ur a realtor, u shouldn't use a luxury car to escort clients to show properties. It just gives them an idea someday to file a lawsuit if there's a small loophole in the contract, cuz they know you've got the $$$ ← drive a nice car, but nottoo nice. my GF uses a Honda Accord V6 w/ leather to do her showings...already has 220K on it...and its a 2000! ← yeah, that's what i meant. you can drive a nice fully loaded car/van/suv, but nothing in the luxury level of BMW/Lexus/Benz/Jag/Land Rover/etc.

well we gotta look at it this way, they both are capable of off road conditions, but it depends on the person themselves. It's up to the off roader if he/she feels like taking a $20-35k jeep suv off road, or risk a $65-70k LX470 off road. ;)

ohhhh, now i understand why the right headlamp seems to be illuminating more, and a little higher than the left one. :whistles:

I wonder if sandy roads during the winter is something that is a concern. The roads around here get REALLY sandy. ← Wow! They AVERAGED 34.4 MPG after driving through city, highway, AND mountain roads. That's impressive! I think it would be safe to say that the 400h will not be adversely affected by road sand. I think they are referring to beach sand and desert-area sand when they say you should subjectthe 400 on off-road conditions. The really impressive part is the torque specification: 650 lbs-ft of torque!!!!!!! All I can say to that is YEEEEHAAAAAWWWWWW! ← 650 torque???? :o wow! yeah the Rx400h officially launches at all dealers on April 15, 2005 as a 2006 model.

My understanding is Auto on just means that it update time according to GPS signal; but we still have to turn DST on or off manually. Just twice a year, not a big problem.:whistles: ← correct. and besides, even with our other electronic stuffs, we turn on the Daylight Savings, time never changes! huh, even my cell changed the time, like around 2pm (new time) on sunday!

can't really apply that to the 400h becuz the design and engine has both been tested before, unlike me when i first bought the gx (maybe the first 1000 built), i'm the ones with bugs and defects!

I havn't had any experience with my Lexus dealers service dept yet...nothing has gone wrong. :> I did look at the MDX, X5, ML500, SRX, Escalade, etc, and made my decison for the GX470 on the basis of that experience. After almost a month of ownership, nothing has changed my mind. I enjoy getting into my GX every day, seeing and feeling the quality and luxury of the interior, and experienceing the plush ride that has gotten me spoiled real fast. Lexus interior quaiity and quietness simply outclass anything else close to their price. I owned an 04 Cadillac CTS previously, and one month into that ownership experience found me in an all out war with my selling dealers service dept. My Lexus experience is much better. ← ur lucky strindl, once u start going to the dealer, that's when the pain all starts! :chairshot:

<_< Robert, I hope this works out for you. This weekend, we traded our MDX on a GX. Got sick and tired of the minor but numerous problems with the MDX. It was in the shop five times in 18 months. The MDX is not as quiet or as comfortable as the GX, and the interior materials do not compare. Some people mistook the MDX for a minivan as well, which drove my wife crazy. I hope you are as happy with your MDX as we are with our new GX. Ours is riding great, tracking well, and is loaded with quality. And the Lexus dealer treats us like...Lexus customers! ← u think that's bad? My Gx has been in the shop, oh, let's count this month (oct-nov) 2 so far. in the last 7 months, 6 times! :chairshot: :chairshot:

wow, take it easy there, Lexus will never compensate or give up right away, or just like that!

i just read from a magazine that the 400h won't come out, until april 06??? correct me on this! :cries:

all i know, dunlops are cheap. michelin will get u more miles (brakes will depend on how u use it). so far i've got 10/32 on my Gx which has michelin cross terrains. original is 11/32 and i've got 22k on it! my previous Rx300 had goodyears, were more than half way at 25k!

engine became 235 from 230 in 03. heard that the Lx will get the new 270 engine, but i duno when it'll come out. it will come out in dec 04 for the Gx though. :)
