  1. I have Yokohama Avid Touring S tires. Blake918 has them as well. I think we can both attest that they are fantastic tires. They are quiet, have a nice ride, and also seem to last FOREVER! I have almost 15k on mine and they still look brand new! Literally! And what a bargain compared to Michelins...
  2. Are you talking about aligning the headlamps?
  3. Holy crap! 309k miles!!! You deserve an award!
  4. Gorgeous colors all around!!!! Looks like a Maserati inside!
  5. How long can you live without power steering? I have a feeling that eventually you will get this sorted out. What's worse--being out $300-500 or so and without automobile transportation, or having a car that runs and drives but has some issues and still owe $2000?
  6. I believe starting in '95, the timing belt only needed to be replaced every 90k miles and XX years. Do you know what XX is????? Actually, maybe it was '97....
  7. I took it to Tail of the Dragon in Deals Gap, TN and drove the hell out of it. It has to be the least fun in a car I've ever had when I was trying to have fun. Sure, I could still keep up with my friends in the Porsche and BMW, but it was so isolating and completely the opposite of what the car is intended to do!BTW my UCF20 is lighter than your 1st gen.
  8. I hope you get it sorted out. I enjoy reading your posts!!!!
  9. The one trend that we follow is the non-ghetto trend. You need to get yourself a test drive in a good-handling car before you go off saying that the LS handles great. One ride in a truly nimble sports car like an S2000, Miata or Porsche, and I think this thread will be over! I be hatin'! P.S. I'm not much older than you are.
  10. You are correct. To the OP, is that your original interior? I hope mine looks like that after 100k more miles!
  11. This is the truth! Removing 50 pounds of interior bits isn't going to do squat.
  12. OP, whatever happened with this? Did your new solenoid cure the problem?
  13. Those are the buttons for heated seats, and traction control, I believe. But you won't need those on your race car. :D
  14. Race cars don't spin out at 20 mph into curbs, trees and fire hydrants. :P
  15. Sure, buy a used Ford Aerostar van and make all of your performance upgrades. You'll probably end up with the same result. Actually, you could've bought this: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/1501085379.html
  16. Clear packing tape. $1.89 roll at Home Depot. If you can't afford to replace the parts that wear/break from age and neglect, how do you plan on affording upgrade parts? These big plans you have in your head actually cost money, I don't see a 2JZ-GTE just falling in your lap for free. So what you're saying is, you're willing to blow money on something you don't really need, but you can't afford to replace the normal wear parts, like ball joints, tires, etc. Let me guess, you're under the age of 21? Haha, good points. There is no point in putting a stick in an LS400. Part of the brilliance of the LS is the buttery smooth drivetrain. Get rid of that drivetrain, and you're pretty much changing the intent of the car. It's like these people who put stiff shocks/springs on their LS400. WhY!? There are much better performance sedans than the LS.
  17. Bah, I thought you were talking about killerfatty. My bad!
  18. Even without Trac Control, if you're riding snow tires, you should be able to feather the throttle enough to prevent spinning and sliding. I would make sure your front brakes aren't dragging. It doesn't take much to affect your traction in the snow. I think he implied that he does not have snow tires.
  19. No, he said the air pressure... there is no alarms in the dashboard indicating oil problem. Engine air pressure? I have no idea about any of that. Is the cars engine cranking over when you turn the igntion key? If not, your starter could be out, but I think they give some sort of warning? bluethunder...no offense... but me thinks we are in serious need of a translator. ;) I thought Google was supposed to take care of that already
  20. Hahaha, why are you still driving in the snow? Haven't you learned your lesson? :P Also, from what you said, the first-gen TRAC system works very differently from the second-gen one. That, or yours is busted.
  21. This thread is useless without photos!!!!! :) Congrats!
  22. He may have been saying that the oil pressure is 0 when you are starting the car.
