  1. Wow, sounds like you got a fantastic deal!!!!! Welcome to the club!!!
  2. I'm not sure if it's called out individually: http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_199502_LE...EPGKA_5806.html I'm not quite sure which one it is. Those little things look like screws and not the bumpers. :( I guess I'll just shell out $1000 for a new armrest! :P
  3. No, I am missing a few, and I tried putting those cabinet bump stops in their place, but I guess they are not working. Does anyone have a part number? This is the last item that is disturbing my cocoon of serenity!
  4. I have about 95k miles on it right now. I've only owned it two months now, but I have already replaced: **Front swaybar bushings **Front strut rods/bushings **Front upper strut mounts **Four tires (Yokohama Avid Touring S) **Cabin Air Filter It rides fantastically! Factory spec is 29 on the fronts, and 32s in the rears, which is what I have it at right now.
  5. The creaking is coming from the front--I think it's coming from where the bottom level meets the console. I can probably fix it, but I'm just curious as to whether this is a common problem (perhaps with a common solution)?
  6. Does anyone else have a loudly creaking front center armrest? It creaks whenever I put moderate pressure on it with my arm. I tried buying those little cabinet bumper sticky dots all over where I thought the creaking might be coming from, but it STILL happens! Anyone else have this issue, or is it just me?
  7. electrical issues shouldnt be a problem, buy a couple extra 5, 10, 15, 20, and maybe even 30amp spade fuses to keep just in case someone overloads/shorts something during the drive. make sure the coolant and trans fluid levels are correct, and that the tires are inflated to ~33-36psi. windshield wipers, and wiper fluid, blinker fluid, and the AC/Heater should all be in good shape. I better get that blinker fluid checked out, LOL! :) Why should the tires be inflated to 33-36 psi?
  8. Well, Spring Break is rolling around, and I'm preparing to the the LS for its first real road trip! Should be about a 1600 mile drive from Durham, NC to Miami and back. It will be me and 3 others. The car runs in tip top shape (and I really mean it!), but I'm wondering what I should do to prepare for this trip. It has new tires and just got a fresh oil change. I'm probably going to get the windows tinted to 35% next weekend. I'll probably give it a nice detail and do an application of Lexol on the leather to keep it nice and soft! One concern I have is related to the cigarette lighters all over the car (there are 3, plus one electrical outlet in the glovebox). If I ran electrical devices like iPods, laptops and GPS units from all of these outlets at the same time, would this cause any harm to my electrical system or place too much load on the alternator? I just had my alternator and battery tested at Advance Auto Parts and they said they were fine. Any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks!
  9. AAhhh man you have me beat by two. I've only done 118MPH in mine. Here's the good part though. It was in a 35mph zone :D . LOL That was pre firehydrant though. After my suspension work is done the Jcrome exhayst gets put on, as well as my homade air intake is created. we will race. I have been thinking about a 50shot of NOS. Any thoughts? I do wonder why the LS430's and the new LS460's are limited at 130mph ensted of 149, like the LS400. The 460's should be able to hit 160 I believe. I think the first gen was actually limited to 155mph.
  10. Can't say much about your noise, but the "vibrations" in the steering wheel is most likely your strut rod bushings needing to be replaced.
  11. I like my stock Coach Edition wheels better. :P
  12. Does anyone else find it curious that the top speed of the LS400s became limited at a lower and lower speed???
  13. I really wanted an XJ6 Vanden Plas.
  14. The lunging into drive is caused by a high idle, but it exacerbated by worn motor mounts and transmission mounts. I have the same issue, but it doesn't bother me because it shifts smoothly otherwise and is perfectly fine once it warms up!
  15. Either way, what makes you think you can sell a car like that with the alarm going off like that? :P Mazda is not owned by Ford--but Ford Has a large controlling interest in it (I believe it's something like 33%). But yeah, they're pretty much the same car.
  16. You don't have the same problem as the people in the thread that I'm about to post, but if you read through it, there are companies that you can send your radio/climate control unit out to and they will refurbish it or replace whatever display is defective. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=83 Do NOT send it to Jim Walker.
  17. Just be glad there was no other damage. Metal bodywork is a pain in the butt to have repaired. :(
  18. Why don't you try this: http://flashoffroad.com/electrical/Batteri...tteryDrain.html Test for parasitic draw, and also for shorts. The Fusion is a very nice car, but it's not nearly as classy or comfortable as what you have! And doesn't it borrow heavily from the previous generation Mazda6? (The Mazda6 is quite sporty by the way.)
  19. Well, I got the Yoko Avid Touring S tires today. They are fantastic! I've had some time driving it around on wet local roads, and also some time driving it on moist highway (enough to cause a little spray). Even with the spray on the highway, these tires are much quieter than what I'm used to with the Dunlop SP Sport 4000 A/S tires. They do feel a little bit softer, but they handle very well. You turn the wheel, and it goes! Accelerating from a stop on wet pavement is okay--better than my bald Dunlops, but it's still difficult to get going on certain tight right turns from a stop sign. However, I expect this to improve as the tires get broken in (I'm not sure, but the stickers may have been left on the tires, causing this issue). Braking is fantastic in the rain. Where my Dunlops would have already engaged the ABS, the Avids were gripping the pavement like mad! Conclusion: I have never tried the MXV4 Primacy, but people say that these Yoko Avids are Michelins for half the price. And from what I've experienced so far, there is no reason to dispute that. If you're thinking about getting the MXV4 but don't want to pay top dollar, give these Yoko Avid Touring S tires a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed!
  20. Well, strut mounts did nothing. But in the spirit of following up on each problem thread I post, the solution was new tires! Now the car drives straight as an arrow! My old Dunlop SP Sport 4000 A/Ss were completely shot, and the sidewalls were cracking. I can only assume that the sidewalls were mush! So for anyone who may be exhibiting these problems, take a look at your tires. If they're old and cracking, you definitely need to replace them! Thanks for your help, guys!
  21. Don't even get me started about rattles. I used to drive a Miata.
