  1. The LS 430 has a 53/47 F/R weight ratio. I wouldn't be surprised if this same ratio applied to the UCF20.
  2. Sorry, I had to laugh. How do you "sport shift" in an LS? It's an automatic for crying out loud!
  3. A 2002 Accord V6 could easily take on a '90-'94 LS.Keep in mind the current Accord V6 has 271 horsepower and 254 lb-ft of torque and weighs at least 200-300 pounds less than the LS.
  4. Says the guy who is spending big bucks on an issue that is non-existent on even a Honda Accord! A new Accord V6 will absolutely blow the doors off of an LS430.
  5. I'm still waiting to see what happens with the economy. Honestly I hope it stays about like it is so I can get a car at a reasonable price.
  6. I must say that after I got my butt handed to me in tennis today, the LS400 was the perfect comfortable car to bring me home.
  7. $220 is still crazy expensive for a door switch. What the heck is Lexus doing with these things? They obviously don't even last very long!
  8. When you say lame trunk struts, what do you mean? It will not stay open? On my '97 when I pop the trunk with the remote, the trunk doesn't pop up, more than 1/2" or so--just enough so that it doesn't catch and lock again. However, if you open it all the way, it stays open. Is this how it's supposed to be, or do I also have lame trunk struts? Or does the '97 not even have trunk struts?
  9. Thank GOD! A Lexus owner who has something else interesting in the garage! (And not another identical Lexus!)
  10. D'oh!!!!! :snoooorrrtttt: You are very brave to leave your car at a shop to "do whatever needs to be done"!
  11. Wikipedia says so, so it's true!
  12. 10-20lbs low and I think he's notice much more than that!
  13. Ahahaha.... you bailed out? You mean tuck and roll bail out? Is the car in a swamp now? GOod luck!
  14. I agree. I don't personally find the LS to be overly expensive to maintain. It really just depends how anal you are about it. When it comes to the LS, I get REALLY anal about noises since the car is so quiet. However, as with any car, you'll be spending less on maintenance with a lower mileage, newer car. So get the newest/lowest mileage one you can reasonably afford!
  15. Dang, that sucks. I'm not trying to be an !Removed!, but are you sure you didn't get an ECU that had the same issue? Can the dealership test quickly (and cheaply) for a multiplexing ECU again?
  16. I don't disagree with you there. My point was that it's not unsafe to drive with VSC off.BTW, I would be very surprised if your shocks are bad if the car has only 85k miles!
  17. No, it has an open differential. LSD wouldn't help it straighten out again anyway.
  18. Turning off VSC should be a safe way to drive until you can get it fixed. Heck, plenty of LS400s don't even have VSC! Why don't you go drive around and see if you can't replicate the problem and find out under exactly what conditions it occurs.
  19. What I find ironic is that suddenacceleration lists a 2007 IS250 as his car. Wouldn't you think that he would've gotten rid of it if it had this problem?
  20. ROFL. Let me assure you that he is not me with a different alias. He sent me a PM alerting me to that website a few hours ago when I was at work. I'm pretty sure he must be admin though because of his name. I will say that I think there could be a legitimate flaw in the Lexus throttle system or something--I wouldn't think a newspaper (albeit not a great one) like USA Today would just waste their time writing about something they knew to be false. I just don't understand what the motive would be for someone to lie about it, especially in cases where no accident or injury (or even a speeding ticket) was involved. Do you really think these people would just make that up? I can't say for sure that I agree. I also think it's funny that you call someone dumb for being trapped in a car that may have well crashed due to some sort of design flaw.
  21. I see lots of legit articles about this issue with Lexus. http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/2004-0...eleration_x.htm
  22. Take a look at that link that suddenacceleration just posted. That is pretty shocking!
  23. I feel the 1998's 5-speed automatic is much better than the 4-speed that comes on the '97s.
  24. I just don't see how that can be if you say your car accelerates like a dog. Something is amiss.
