  1. Well, the first couple of services are free, so you certainly want to take advantage of that. The Maintenance supplement describes what data you should have...things like mileage, date and what was done. They recommend you use the included maintenance log. I also keep my receipts for oil and filters so that I can show additional proof, but the maintenance supplement is pretty specific that you do not need specific proof.
  2. Hey congrats! Finally another road-trip purchaser. I have bought my last 5 vehicles online: flew out and drove back. Love it! Sorry to hear about the short lived possesion of the LX...maybe the wife will let you drive it on 3rd fridays of every month! :)
  3. The auto windows have "intelligence" and as such need to be trained how to function. They retain this information until the battery gets disconnected. :)
  4. Staying in. Having friends over for ribeye steaks on the grill. Yes, had to dig a path to the grill through the snow :) Happy V-day, people!
  5. Gotcha. No kidding. We certainly don't want WW3 to help us recover.
  6. Here, . They also have videos on pairing bluetooth, setting your homelink and using voice commands. Really helpful. Since you live in Colorado, I would recommend that you spring for the slush mats. They really are very nice and do a great job of keeping the car clean during the sloppy slushy months. I swap out the slush mats and carpet mats every spring/fall. The carpet mats preserve the wife's expensive shoe collection half the year, and the slush mats protect the car the rest of the time. Win/win! :D Hmm...some pretty nice choices on the PB swag. I am not a golfer, so that would be out. I am kind of with you that the cookware seems nice and ours is about ready for an upgrade anyway. The leather duffles look nice, but I think I would have a hard time using them to fly...too nice to let the cargo goons ruin them at the airport. :) Tuff choices!
  7. There is a link in my sig that will tell you how to find out what updates were added since the last update. That will help you decide if the update is worth the money.
  8. Hey Atlanta, You have a Gen 4 system in your LX, by the way. Gen 2/3 doesn't lose their override. Sorry that you lost your override on the latest update. There was another post by a guy, named scottroy I believe it was, who also updated his system and was assured by lexus that it would not lose any functionality. He found like you did that he lost override ability so he took it back and had them remove the update and put his old disc back in and refund his money. The dealer did not know how to "downgrade" the system, but we got Scott to remove power from the nav system for a few minutes and it reset for him. The best we can hope for with Gen 4 Nav while retaining the ability to override is to run what is called a hybrid disc. You can use the data from as current as 6.1, but you have to substitute the LOADING.KWI file from 5.1 or earlier. Many of us Gen 4 guys run that disc and it works great. It isn't exactly the most updated info, but for our area it is close enough. Sorry man for your little surprise on the update. :(
  9. Thanks for the update on the snow tires! Seriously considering a set for the AWD RX for next season. I am not unhappy with the all-seasons and AWD, but the snows must be incredible, as you said.
  10. Wow, that is great news! You can never argue with 10k off of sticker! Congratulations on your new PB! Which PB gift selection are you getting? :D
  11. wow man...everyone was ok I take it? I know the RX400h has some weight behind it and of course the crumple zones in the toyota probably made it appear worse than it needed to while absorbing some of the impact. Do you have any pictures?
  12. Good Luck to you! Hear from you when you get settled in!
  13. The new deal caused us to stay in a depression for 10 years while the rest of the world recovered in 4.
  14. Man KF, Looking much better! Where do you get that last trim piece?
  15. BillyShaft you are right, I guess I was just having a bad day, it's not like me to give rude responses like that, especially when someone takes the time to respond to my need. However, I think you could ease up on me a little bit too b/c it makes you sound a little bit hypocritical "fighting fire with fire", so to speak. Nonetheless, point taken and I apologize for the negative response sakataj. Thanks for the eye-opener BillyShaft; I mean that sincerely. No problem dado...I think I tend to take the side of the helpful knowledgeable guys who give their time and info so freely. I have learned a lot from them. Occasionally I do go overboard with the sarcasm a bit. Sorry if I hurt your feelings. :( Know this tho; when you have been here helping out a bit I will do the exact same thing for you! :D So, you looked and found no critters? I once had a family of squirrels living under the hood of my 87 325is. Lil buggers stripped all the insulation off my a/c lines and made a big-!Removed! mess. Luckily they only partly chewed the wires running thru there.
  16. hmm, only 7 links to critters causing dash noise? Could you please provide 10 or 12 more to make your point? ;) I swear to god, I love people who ask for help and then be nasty when they get one they don't understand.:chairshot: Here you go sakataj and djspawn, here is the answer you could/should have gotten: "Hey guys, thanks for the suggestion and taking the time to help me out, I actually did a search all on my own like I did when I was a little school boy and I found what you said was true! :D Crazy, right? I checked it and didn't see any sign of critters in there, thank God. Any other suggestions?
  17. I find it hard to believe a dealer would pick up your car if you didn't lease/buy the vehicle from them. Why? The service department typically stands alone as a profit center. I purchased my last 3 RXs from dealers no where near where I have had them serviced. The service department seems anxious to get my business, and they either don't know or don't care where you got the vehicle from. I think you are buying into the sales BS they like to use about how you get special treatment in service if you buy from them. When I scheduled my first free CPO service and service campaign for a vehicle I purchased out of state, the guy took my name, scheduled my appointment and told me the loaner would be warmed up and ready to go. He couldn't care less where I bought the vehicle.
  18. Do a search on the forum. Lots of threads and posts on less expensive parts houses and dealers.
  19. That is awesome. Do you know who this guy is? I have a new hero!
  20. As a person who bought WorldCom stock at different points on the way down (as low as 5 cents per share!) by assuming that a company headed for bankruptcy won't fail, I can confidently state that if a business model doesn't make sense and isn't profitable enough, it will collapse. Nothing is too big to fail.
  21. ok There is a juicy story here...GIVE! :D
