My guess is that this "fog" is really on the outside of the lens. Try applying some rubbing compound (any will do) and working it in with a cotton rag, maybe it'll rub out. <_< And as for upgrading the bulbs... not really much you could do besides throwing in a kit, but that'll just give you more problems with glare. try doing a search in the Rx300 forum, this has been talked about before. <_<

Is the fogging actual moisture/condensation? Or just a runny "haze" at the top? Does it come and go? Or is it there permanently? Can you take some pics? Solution is based on what the fog is. If it's moisture that only appears at certain times, there really isn't much you can do. If it doesn't go away, it might be another common problem with these, a haze that's actually on the outside but may appear to be on the inside. And why are you asking about upgrading bulbs? Is this a related issue? What year is your RX? Does it have HID or halogen bulbs?

Frozen License Plate Screws
cduluk replied to mrpiii's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
Also, next time use plastic screws. <_< Autozone has them in the correct size. They work perfectly, never seize, and never leave that rusty stain! -
How Do You Change The License Plate Lights?
cduluk replied to emim's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
You need to remove the interior panel(s) on the back of the tailgate itself (just held on with clips). Then you'll see the bulbs which twist in from the inside tailgate area. The lights cannot be removed from outside of the car, only from the inside. Just pry the panels off with a flathead screwdriver. <_< And you can get LED bulbs from ebay etc. Just make sure they have built in voltage regulators (not just resistors) as the real voltage to those bulbs is upwards of 14.5V. -
Those interior panels are only held on with clips, so just try to pry the panel off with a flat-head screwdriver. <_<

haha... yes, that was supposed to be 1963 The Wright brothers definitely stole the idea from Boeing, not the other way around!

You went to the MUSEUM OF FLIGHT!?!? Damn you!! I am SO jealous! Lately i've become in love with aviation and one of the planes there (the Boeing 727) is my all time favorite. They have the #1 727 which took its first flight on Feb 9th 1863!! I've been planning to visit that museum for a while now...

And here's another car commercial by VW, specifically for the Beetle. It opens with literally a "beetle" scampering around in the woods, passing other bugs and such, showing its performance skills. It then ends with the beetle in the middle of the screen, which then fades to show just the silhouette of the beetle. I thought this one was especially creative as an insect lover myself. And i liked this one from Bridgestone. It begins with a guy driving down the road who swerves to avoid a beaver who's trying to cross. It then jumps 6 months in the future on the same road, with the same guy driving along who's forced to stop as a tree falls in front of him. We then see that the same beaver he had recently saved was the one who cut the tree down to keep the driver from driving into an overflowing stream, as the bridge that once spanned it had fallen. Very nice example of "karma" and Bridgestone tire braking! So what do you guys think!? Did i miss any good ones?

This is another good one, by Doritos. It introduces a story of a guy "house-siting" for his friend. He's seen sitting on his friends couch (with a bag of Doritos) as his friend gives him instructions to "feed the fish" and "water the plants". The story then jumps to a week later when the friend realizes the fish and plants have died due to his neglect. He then crunches up some Doritos and gives them to the dead fish, which miraculously brings it back to life- so he gives some to the dead plant with the same result. Just as he finishes cleaning up the house, he accidentally knocks over his friends' grandfather's ashes! The scene then opens up to his friend coming in the door to find his grandfather back to life! Very creative, but i doubt people are going to think Doritos have magical powers... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCdnFMp6s84&playnext=1&list=PL88B3D0560ED986D8 And here's one by VW. It shows a kid dressed up as a Star Wars character walking around his house attempting to "use the force" on various things such as his dog and exercise equipment, but to no avail. His father then comes home in a VW and the kid walks to the car and again tries to "use the force" on it- but this time, the car turns on! We then learn that the father was just using the remote fob to remote start the VW. Very creative!

Hey guys, I know it's a little late, but i wanted to share some of my favorite 2011 Superbowl commercials and get your opinions on them as well! I think we can all use a laugh. <_< Here's my favorite, from Career Builder. It shows a guy arriving to his work, followed by two cars being driven by monkeys, each parking so close that he seems "trapped" in his car (one car actually hitting him). I think it does an excellent job showing how some may feel "stuck" at a bad job working with a bunch of "monkeys"- figuratively, that is. I think this commercial wins as far as creativity is concerned. Here's my second favorite, by Pepsi. It introduces a husband a wife in various situations, where the husband is "caught" by his wife trying to eat unhealthy foods. It ends with the husband all alone on a park bench drinking a Pepsi, who is yet again caught by his wife- but this time drinking one of her own (i guess trying to advertise the fact that Pepsi is healthy). Just when the husband thinks he's done something right in his wife's eyes, his wife catches him glaring at a pretty jogger who passes by, which causes her to throw her Pepsi can at him! He then ducks, and the wife inadvertently hits the jogger in the head. I think we've all been caught in a similar situation with our girlfriends/wives!

Problem With Brakes? Creaking Sound
cduluk replied to cduluk's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
I'm going to have to have the car checked this weekend... -
I think i know now why companies like BMW, Acura, Infiniti and Audi use hard tough leathers in their cars. The soft high quality stuff Lexus uses is just too delicate. <_<

When you say the Bridgstone Duelers are liked, do you mean the Bridgstone dueler "Alenza's"? Or the standard Duelers? The standard ones are pretty average, maybe even worse than average... The Alenza's on the other hand are a GREAT tire.

The only thing in this world that's ever guaranteed is our deaths... That and taxes being due on April 15th. From what i hear union jobs are the only things left protecting job securities. I can see why those who aren't members of a union would feel animosity towards those who get the benefits from one. :whistles:

cduluk replied to cduluk's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
Oh i guess it was changed then, because it had all of its scheduled services before i got it at 42k miles. So i guess its due for another? -
Problem With Brakes? Creaking Sound
cduluk replied to cduluk's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
Well, as far as i know the brake fluid's never been touched- but i didn't own the car until it was at 42k miles, so it may have been done before that. The fluid level is at the normal level that's all i know. -
Problem With Brakes? Creaking Sound
cduluk replied to cduluk's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
haha... it certainly does sound like that. And it's definitely coming from the outside of the car. I can't tell which side though. -
Problem With Brakes? Creaking Sound

I also found a thread from a while back with a list of TSB's for the 06 Rx400h which lists something that might relate to the problem i'm having, but i'm not sure if the 08's are affected or if the problems are even the same. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=58929 see TSB 5. -
I didn't even know you could get an Rx400h with NAV, without the back-up camera. It must be a USA vs Canadian thing... My guess is that you could add it, but it'll cost a lot. Try asking your dealer what modifications need to be made. You may just need the camera itself with some wiring to the center console, or you may need to replace the center console with a different unit.

Problem With Brakes? Creaking Sound
cduluk replied to cduluk's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
It doesn't seem to be related to the regenerative braking- i just tried putting the car in neutral, and it did the same thing. Also, after leaving my class today i noticed the sound after applying pressure on the brake pedal to get the gear in D. So the car doesn't even need to be moving for this sound to occur! Here's another clip, just in my driveway in PARK with the ignition ON. Just pressing the pedal down all the way and releasing causes the same sound... First time the sound was pretty loud, the second time nearly gone, and the third time only a little bit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H63481el0ic -
Hey guys, Recently i've noticed something unusual with my Rx400h, specifically while braking. Whenever i need to brake hard, i hear a creaking sound- just for a split second, just before the car comes to a stop. It's not the typical "grinding" sound brakes make (that sound is still present), this is something different. I took the Rx out for a spin and got the sound on tape. You'll notice the mysterious sound followed by the typical "grinding" sound brakes usually make once the car is stopped. However the first time i break, the car doesn't even come to a stop and you can hear the sound isolated from the usual grinding sound- it's just a weird "creak-creak" sound. Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7saY_NJSejg I only noticed this sound recently, but i'm not sure if it's always happened and i never noticed it until now, or whether there is something wrong with the car. The brakes are still "good" and there's no "squeaking" sound indicating that they need replacement. Could it be a problem with the suspension? Or is this normal? I was thinking it might just be the anti-lock system but i've never heard this sound from any other car with anti-locks... It doesn't "only" happen when i brake hard, it happens even during light braking too, as i notice it a lot during normal driving. Also, it usually occurs during low speeds... It's quite annoying... The car's an 08 and it has ~62,000 miles. Any input is appreciated!

Hey congrats on the new RX!! She looks BEAUTIFUL! But no HID's?
