  2. 06-11 IS250 does 0-60 in about 7.5 - 7.7 seconds 07-11 ES350 does 0-60 in about 6.4 - 6.9 seconds For comparison, the 07-09 Rx350 does 0-60 in 7.5 seconds, and the 06-08 Rx400h (hybrid) does it in about 7.2 seconds. The 07-11 ES350 is VERY quick.
  3. I use Leatherique's "Leather Rejuvenator" and "Prestine Clean" and will NEVER go back to another cleaner and conditioner. It's pricey but nothing i've tried works as well, and seems as gentle and aggressive at the same time.
  4. Like you, had an '03 Rx300 (same as '01) and am now driving an '08 Rx400h. I LOVE it! My actual mileage (60% city / 40% highway) is around 23 miles/gallon, but i'm a lead foot. The Rx400h's power is amazing, making it the fastest (0-60 and in terms of passing power) SUV that Lexus has made to date (including the 2010+ Rx450h). As far as i know, there aren't many issues with the Rx400h, only a few that some other members on here will post about i'm sure. <_< Here's a thread i made a while back giving detail as to my experiences going from an Rx300 to Rx400h. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=60800 In my opinion, the Rx400h gives you the best performance for gas mileage in the SUV world.

  6. Oh yeah, i've got one. However it's for the D2S HID bulb. But i'm about 100% sure the bulb holders are identical. But if not, it wouldn't take more than modifying one of the notches in the black base of the bulb... but like i said, pretty sure you wouldn't need to. Other than maybe one of the notches, the D2S and D4S bulb bases are completely identical. Just as long as you still use the D4S "ballast" this will work perfectly. Here's some pics: I currently have it modified to fit on another ballast. I can remove it and leave you the (pos +) and (neg -) wires (inside the metal-threaded insulator) and you can solder them onto your ballast. If you want it, just let me know- i'll ship it to you no cost. You can PM me your shipping info if you're interested. If it doesn't fit or something, no harm done!
  7. What is your reasoning for wanting to switch into an IS from an ES? Other than saving money, I can't see why anyone would want to go from an ES350 to IS250. Maybe an IS350, but there isn't much the IS250 has over the ES350, besides AWD which some IS250's have. The ES350 has much better performance also... My cousin had no idea the IS250 was so slow, in fact it's actually slower than the Rx350. But other than that, the IS250 is a very reliable car. My only concerns are with the lack of leg room in the rear- it's BAD... Even with the front seats moved up a bit, it's uncomfortable for passengers in the rear.
  8. Hmmm... that's very odd. So if you press any of the buttons (map voice, dest, info, climate, etc) the screen will turn on, and if you press any of these again it turns black again? Did you do all of this with the car in accessory? Or with the car ON?
  9. I've never owned an IS, but my cousin just got one, and i can tell you there is NO leg room in the back seat for passengers.
  10. Call a few local locksmiths, one of them might have the proper machine required. I found on around me a while ago, i had to call about 10 places before i found one that had the laser cutting equipment. And just bring a cut blade that works and they'll duplicate it- just like they do for any other key. They can't cut a blade based off of any code. Only Lexus can do that.

    Not yet- i'm still in the process of getting my summer set of tires put on. I think i'm going to take it to the Lexus dealer and ask if they can check out the TSB that might have something to do with it...

    The noise is getting considerably more noticeable as time progresses though. It's VERY annoying!

  14. What do you mean when you ask where the power source is for the rear sills? I just used voltage going to the bulb that illuminates the ignition key ring. I then sent a double wire (for pos and neg) down the dash, and along the perimeter of the interior to each of the 4 sills. This way, the sills would go on when the doors are opened =)

  15. Try to locate the speaker, it'll be somewhere under the dash. Once found, splice in a foot of wiring and relocate the speaker in a location where you'll be able to hear it. I actually had the opposite problem with my Rx300, it was too loud! So I found it and wrapped some foam around it to muffle the sound a little.

    That's exactly what I did with the front sills, I cut about an inch off at the top, but that's just an estimation, make sure you measure the exact amount that needs to be cut. Just cut a little at a time until it fits. You make need to fashion some clips to hold the sills down as well.   18. Nope, the wheels can be removed from the car, tires replaced, balanced, and the wheels can be rotated. If the sensors are already programmed, and as long as they're not damaged, they'll always work with the car. It doesn't matter where on the car they all are, you'd be surprised in the range of the signals! The car can recognize the signal from the sensors at about 100 feet. I know this because I just recently damaged a tire, so I replaced it with my spare and left the damaged tire/rim (with a sensor) in my garage. When I leave my house, my "check system" light comes on telling me it can't read the sensor from the damaged tire. And when I come back home, once I'm at the bottom of my driveway (about 100ft from my garage) the dash changes to the "low tire" error which tells me it can read the signal from the sensor that it's low on air. You can also rotate with your spare as well, as the spare has a TPMS sensor as well. The car keeps track of all 4 wheels and the spare at all times. What exactly are you having done to the car?
  19. They are indeed easy to replace, if you look on ebay for the sensors you can find out what they look like. You don't need to touch them if you're just replacing tires. They're built into the valve stem.

Hey guys, I'll admit i've had many complaints about the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) function in the Rx400h, with all of its false alarms and the hassle when exchanging wheels, but i take it all back. A few weeks ago on my way to school my "low tire" light came on in the dash. I just assumed it was another false alarm, but i got out of the car and did a visual check of all the tires just in case- none of them appeared low. But on my way home, the light persisted so i checked all the tires with a pressure gauge, and what do you know, my front right tire was a bit low, at 24 PSI (compared to the others at 34 PSI). So i inspected the wheel a bit and found a NAIL! Right on the inside edge. So the following morning i took it to a nearby tire shop and had it repaired for $15, not that bad... If i hadn't gotten the warning light, i probably wouldn't have known about the issue until the tire was completely flat! Then, today i had a little incident... Turning into a store parking lot, i hit the curb a little with my right rear tire. I felt it a little, but didn't think anything of it. But in a matter of SECONDS, (maybe 5) the "low tire" light came on in the dash. I DIDN'T want to believe it. But when i got out, it was obvious- a 2" tear on the sidewall of the tire, air rushing out as the tire deflated completely. So, i had to drop the spare, jack up the car, and replace it. Didn't think i had it in me, but i did it all by myself! Really didn't feel like having to wait for AAA to come... But i thought it was pretty neat how the "low tire" light came on so quickly! I mean within SECONDS after i hit the curb, before i even made it into a parking spot. It definitely saved me from the humiliation of trying to drive off with a COMPLETELY flat tire! If it hadn't alerted me, i would have just driven off, and God only knows what damage that could have caused. So now i've just gotta drive around with the "low tire" light still on, as the spare's now in my garage until i can get it replaced. Luckily the rim is OK (scuffed, but OK) so all i need is a new tire... Just thought i'd share!

  22. I don't think it's "bright" we're after, it's more of "color". The factory halogen bulbs produce an ugly yellow shade, while the white LED's produce more of a crisp white, similar to HID headlights.
  23. i think you're going to have a VERY difficult time even finding a 2011 Rx400h for sale, as they stopped being produced in 2008. :P Lexus did release the next generation RX hybrid, the RX450h which came out as a 2010 model.
