  1. Toysrme, i have a 98 es300 and in comparison with your picture and the haynes manual my IAC doesnt have a brake booster line connected to it, its covered by a cap screw. can i just pull the hose directly from the brake booster to induce the seafoam and not cause any harm to it? thanks
  2. just focusing on the tranny mounts, exactly how many are there?
  3. toysrme, ill have to check and see if the engine does make any movements, but if were to - would that be noticeable while driving? my concern for primarily changing the mounts esp. the transmission mount is that i can feel it shifting (more than i did before when the car had less miles) through 1st and 2nd and somewhat 3rd gears. im sure its not my tranny fluid b/c not too long ago i installed a aux. tranny filter (as so many of you have recommended) and the fluid is as red as can be. but maybe again it might just be normal wear and tear.
  4. you say the gen4 Camry platform has a front sway bar, do the gen4 es300 platform have front sway bars also? (i dont know how your suspension is setup) but why did you consider getting a Whiteline rear sway bar? do you feel any improvements having it? (correct me if i am wrong) is the purpose of a rear sway bar to control the rear end as you manuever through a turn?
  5. my car is nearly reaching the 90,000 mile mark and i wanted to look into replacing the engine mounts and the transmission mounts. for the age of the vehicle and the milage, exactly which engine mounts should i be concerned in replacing? ive looked at toyotaandlexusparts.com for the mounts but im confused on which is what, b/c it gives you so many part numbers. does anybody know the exact part number of each of the mounts? thanks
  6. does anybody have a anti-sway bar installed on their car? if so which one? i found this one from ADDCO:ADDCO rear anti-sway bar it says its a "3/4 inch diameter bar" is that the proper size for my car? i didnt think you could improve the suspension of a es300 w/o having to dish out some $$$ for coilovers (which i dont have the money for). but i replaced the front struts with OEM not too long ago, and for the rear settled for monroe shocks (yes i know, i have different brands for the front and rear but the OEM for the rear are expensive :cries: )
  7. this past sunday in the hurry of things i forgot to put back my pcv valve :chairshot: and i drove back to school (summer school sucks by the way) approx. 300miles driven w/o the pcv valve plugged in place; and driving about 70-80mph. it wasnt until today that i got a check engine light and realize i forgot to put the pcv valve back in place. considering the long drive and the high speed, should i be concern for any damage to my engine? [ive got a 98 es300]
  8. i have a 98 es300 and i recently replaced the door pillars on each side b/c the laminate coating peeled off and they were left with a dull finish. what would be the best way to prevent this from happening again? would waxing them help preserve the finish? ive tried applying some 3M clear tape that i had left over, but during some heavy rain, the tape fell off. thanks
  9. mikemillionz, where did you manage to find a voltage stabilizer for your es300?
  10. I concur but i would also like to know about how the supercharger would work
  11. last time i checked the freon level was good. does this mean the oil level is good also? i dont think it cycles every 5 seconds (maybe when im sitting in rush hour traffic + hot temps), but ill double check to see. i do notice the "clicking" sound when the compressor engages. andrecat
  12. i guess nobody elses compressor is as loud as mine....must mean its functioning normally??
  13. Do you get much snow & harsh winter conditions where you live andrecat? B) I know the wet & heavy rain weather performance in just awesome! ;) ← living in virginia beach during the summer (away from school) we've had our fair share of rain and i must agree the tripletreads have been outstanding in wet weather. come the next couple months ill see how they perform in winter weather when im out at school in radford once the weather turns cold. andrecat
  14. i just recently got the goodyear tripletreads on my 98 es300 (stock 205/65/15) and i must say they are so far flawless. i previously had bfgoodrich traction t/a v-rated tires and was very disappointed in them; yeah they were superb in traction but horrible for ride noise and comfort and treadwear. but these goodyear tripletreads are something else
  15. is it normal to hear from inside the cabin the a/c compressor running? if not what type or viscosity of oil should i buy? i saw at autozone two types, one with a viscosity of 40 and the other a viscosity of 100? thanks andrecat112
  16. hey SK, im not trying to be a royal pain in the but what makes the intake garbage? filter? would it still be garbage if you swaped the filter with a k&n cone filter? would it still be garbage if you had the intake along with the ram air kit? thanks andrecat112
  17. is there any big difference between V-rated and H-rated tires?
  18. on the back of the can of seafoam it says you can add it to the crankcase. has anyone tried doing that? any bad effects in doing so?
  19. what size is your rims? i dont see that tire as a selection for my car.
  20. ive had the bfgoodrich traction t/a (v rated) tires for no more than 2 years (~25,000mi) now and im dissatisfied with them. two of the tires have abnormal tire wear and they have horrible road noise (like im driving a 4x4...or as my little brother likes to call it, the 50 cal. machine gun). ive read reviews on these tires being difficult to balance. im thinking twice on whether to give them another try. i need some advice on what tires you guys think are best for this type of car. thanks
  21. hey thanks for your input guys, any specific model i should look into?
  22. hey guys. as we know fathers day is coming up soon and i wanna get my dad a new stereo for his truck (2000 tundra) since i happen to be the one who broke his stock 6-cd changer. :whistles: any ideas on a good replacement? nothing fancy-spancy, but something affordable looks cool and plays mp3. thanks
  23. where is this EFI fuse located? fuse box under the hood? or underneath steering column? which one exactly is it?
