  1. That really sounds bad, and I'm sorry about that. If you lived in Texas, I have a parts car with complete Engine/Transmission that I could've sold to you for close to nothing.
  2. Haha, I like the idea too. That guy is actually selling the car. That video was a "Selling Point" if you can believe that. It seems like it would be pretty easy to find a M90 supercharger at a salvage yard. Do you know if there is a lot of custom work that has to be done, or is it pretty direct and easy?
  3. I just had that problem. I had to replace my high pressure hose. The hose is only about a foot long, and luckily I had a parts car with a perfect one. I've heard they are very expensive. It seem like you have A LOT of air in the system, and you need to get it out. I think you can google: lexls.com LS400 power steering, and there is a great step by step process of how to get the air out of the system.
  4. I'm guessing you're looking for a M90 supercharger that's rebuilt for $500? Because that websites cheapest Supercharger was about $3,000. Here's a youtube clip of a guy with the M90 on his SC400. The car looks like crap, but you get the idea...
  5. Here's the Kelly Blue Book on the car... http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/PricingRep...QuizConditions= That's in Fair condition, with the 250,000 miles. I didn't add traction control or heated seats, you didn't state if you had those extras
  6. That link is working fine for me...But if you're still having trouble, just type this into google.com: LS400 Power Steering lexls.com It will be the 2nd link, the 1st link shows you how to rebuild the pump.
  7. If anyone was curious, I was incorrectly bleeding the power steering. The LS400 bleeding worked like a charm. Heres the link... http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/steering/psflush.html
  8. Wow, I'm really sorry to hear that. If your car meant as much to you, as my car means to me, then you must be devistated :(
  9. If you don't mind me asking, How much was the purchase price? The problems you stated should be pretty easy to fix, best of luck.
  10. It's the most reliable car I have EVER driven. My family is jealous of my car. I would trade immediatly!
  11. So my 1992 SC400 decided to have a power steering leak. I believe it was in the high pressure hose, which is located under the car almost perfectly center. It was leaking where the metal bracket meets the actual rubber hose. I have a parts car, so I decided to swap the hoses. The hose fit perfect, and we then tried to "Bleed" the power steering. My friend told me we should bleed the power steering through the line we just swapped. I listened, and I turned on the car, and the fluid did go through but not as much as I thought. I turned the wheel Lock to Lock many times, as I've read about. You could hear the air coming out, and the PS pump stopped whining. We connected the hose, and let down the jacks. I drove the car and the steering was pretty hard, not normal, but the PS pump was not whining. Also, when you open the reservoir, there is A LOT of air going through, and it's very continuous...We tried to "Bleed" the system again, but it's like we were back at step 1 with the PS pump whining again. I'm confused, and I think we are not bleeding the system correctly. I'm pretty sure the PS pump is NOT the problem. It has never given me ANY problems, I just wanted to fix this leak, and ran into all this nonsense. I have seen the thread about "How to bleed the PS system on a 90-94 LS400" should I try this technique? Will it work on the SC400? Sorry about the lengthy post, but I wanted to be very descriptive.
  12. Unfortunatly, the panel that we used from the parts car already had bondo work! We had no idea until we already cut it out. We decided to go with it anyways, but more work/labor was involved. I took your advice and "Poked", but this new piece is much stronger than the original body.
  13. In regular font...He/She is looking for turn signal mirrors that can fit the SC400. Thy found some red/clear taillights off of Ebay, and they are Nice. Also wanted to know what the best HID Xenon headlight kit there is available, also for the SC400, that's not expensive. He/She just wants to get some upgraded accessories for their recent purchase of the SC400. To reply, I have used the sylvania "White Light" bulbs, and they are nice. Not Xenon, but nice looking. They are available at almost any parts store for about $35. Make sure you get 9006 Lights for the low Beam, and 9007 for the High Beam. If your SC400 is a 1992,93,94, you could upgrade to the 95-2000 taillights which are slightly different and look better. They should be somewhat easy to find.
  14. The application of paint and polishing will be the final tester as to whether its gonna come out smooth, but the work looks wonderful, the pics arent very high resolution, but it looks like the lines came out right. At least your car is red and not black, even if there are some waves, they wont show as much. Show us some pics when its painted!!! :) Thank You jzz30 and Lethal_Threat! Sorry about the pictures they came from a camera phone, I forgot my digital camera. But the lines look GREAT! almost 100% perfect, I was very surprised. Not to brag, but this only cost me $61, which was the cost of supplies- filler, primer, tape, etc.
  15. Here are the finished results! I'm very happy. I also attached the original damage
  16. yeah i hear the ouch, but their not that hard to install yourself. took me a while on how to do it myself though I installed my window motor as well, and it was actually quite easy. I just took it out of my parts car, and remembered how I UNinstalled it.
  17. HAHA, I thought about doing that! I think lextech.org will "Fix" the needles, and make them different colors for about $100. They have had mixed reviews though, so be cautious
  18. I read somewhere where someone replaced the nut and washer, due to a grinding noise. Try this link, and I hope it helps you out some...... http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread...hlight=Tutorial I've read that same thread a MILLION times, and only one or two people are having problems like me. They haven't been answered/replied yet, so I guess I will wait...
  19. The leather has some wear probably because she didn't clean/condition the leather since she is an older lady. She said she took it to the mechanic to check if anything needs to be replaced before she sold it. She replaced certain belts, wipers, fluids, etc. I will post pics later of the dent and maybe someone can tell me how much it would cost to fix it. Thanks! Yeah that will happen to leather with minor negligence. Maybe I'm a little paranoid because I've purchased a car with a rolled back odomoter(electric). Anyways, you can look at my other thread about Passenger Side Bodywork, Currently my step dad is in the process of fixing MAJOR damage on that panel...it's been completly free for me so far.
  20. Only 29,500 miles, and there is some how that cosmetic damage, and parts replaced. I would double check the mileage is legit. My girlfriend has a 1999 RX300, never garaged, drives it everyday, and her leather is still flawless. Don't get me wrong, that's a GREAT DEAL
  21. Today, I was almost right on 2000RPM, and was doing 60MPH.
  22. I attempted to fix my telescoping wheel today, and everything was fine until I couldn't get this small nut/bolt? off...It's the bolt circled in the picture.
  23. wait so after saying this, now your father has lots of experience? im confused He built himself up to sound like he wasn't too familiar with this type of work. Come to find out, he actually does have some experience. He's very modest, and probably didn't want to feel pressured to do a good job. I might have opened my mouth a little too early on that 1st posting :( . I should be out his way in the next couple of days, and hopefully have some finished pictures.
  24. I'm having problems with my 1992 SC400 stock radio. When I bought the car, the radio wasn't working. The owner had no idea what had caused this, but I soon found out. The fuse on the kick panel (Inside the car) was missing. The radio fuse under the hood was missing as well. I then tried to replace with the correct fuses, but the fuse would IMMEDIATLY blow...everytime. I looked through the threads for a while, and didn't find anyone who had the same problems. What can I do? The stock unit is in GREAT condition, and so is the CD changer, and the Amp has never been wet. The car has been garaged it's whole life. Someone enlighten me.
  25. No offense, but it made me think of all the Royal Blue Subaru WRX's that are running around here...
