  1. I would really like to use the Tein s-tech but I dont think they make them for the SC. I found this http://www.body-kits.biz/Tokico-HP-S...9-p-67850.html for various prices (I think this was the highest). All I want is something affordable, about a 1" drop, (its hard enough for me to get my 6'3" !Removed! in the car) and a brand I've heard before or atleast has a good reputation. I'm trying to keep it around $500 but thats only if it shocks and springs, I'm guessing with a 1" drop I should be able to use the stock shocks (right?) I have 18x9.5 with a 245/40 all around, will I have any fender issues with a 1"-1.5", I'm guessing no but I want some expert opinion.
  2. I plan getting the Vertex wide fenders in a few months and I was wondering if any after market side skirts work better than others for it, is there any clearance issues, anybody have some mounted pics I want to get an idea of before and after and some other shots of them on the car
  3. I tried doing a search on here but nothing came up. I seen one on Ebay from Race On USA but I'm kind of iffy on Ebay. Anyone know of any online stores that sell it? If I have to I'll go through Ebay but not my first choice.
  4. I've been through 2 tstat housings and gaskets now, I seen coolant coming from the lower nut and also a squirt from about midway down between the housing behind the hose. I think it might be the gasket that was used. Is the OEM and aftermarket gasket really that different? I haven't seen either one, I had a shop swap it out back when I had some other work done.
  5. sc4: I had read on some Aussie websites about replacing the filter and I heard about the same thing happening so I was kinda expecting it. When I did it, I disconnected the battery, unscrewed the gas cap, got my flare wrench and got to down to business. I was following what I was reading from everybody else. Its weird I've heard about the filter situation going both ways, I guess if you do it on your own be prepared.
  6. I've seen a couple pics and even one on here but it was an old pic, does anyone know if they are still being made? I tried searching online and all I got was hoods, trunks, and doors.
  7. I'm going to order my rims in the next couple of weeks and I want to see what they would look like, I need some pics.
  8. I tried replacing mine with a Beck Arnley (sp?) and it would not go on. I didnt need it, but I have a 92 with 170k on it and I tried doing it as preventative maintenance and it would not go on. If the threads are different, about all you could do is cut the line before the filter fitting find a flare nut with a little bit of hard fuel line coming out of either end and then use rubber fuel line hose and clamps to put it back in line. I had chemical burns from high octane and smelled like gas bad. The gas kept coming and coming I dumped about 3 gallons before I tightened it back up and called it quits. I took it to a mechanic I trust they tried it, it wouldnt go on. They got another one (Fram) it wouldnt go on. To be sure your going to get the right one get one from the stealership. You have a couple things you can try, if its an ealier model like mine (92) you can unplug the AFM from the air intake tube and see what happens. My AFM went out so instead of paying up to $1k for a new one or buying a used one with no warranty I unplugged it and it hasnt given me any problems at all. I can smoke the tires at will, no strange sounds, no hesitation unless the tires loose grip. Also if you look on you tube I think someone has posted a video about adjusting the throttle position sensor you could also try that. Are the spark plugs newer, when was the last tune up?
  9. 92 SC400 I'm number 3 I think (it started in Texas and then moved to Michigan) I found it on a lot about 45 minutes away from me on co-signment. I've wanted one of these since they came out and I finally got the spare cash laying around. I bought it for $4000 with a jerking, hesitation when I got on the gas. Still had to have it. So far I've had to replace: plugs, wires, coils, distributors, air filter, trans fluid change, radiator flush, and a warped thermostat housing, and now a possible air flow meter, still testing it. I put in a True Flow air filter, cleaned out the cats, removed the resonator, and replaced the mufflers with xcelerator mufflers. Its going to take some major damage to this car for me to get rid of it, I love this car. Future plans call for a C/F hood, 18" XXR rims, body kit, M90 supercharger, new paint Right now theres nothing special about it, once I get more done I'll post some pics.
  10. I have the same year as you, I recently had a shop clean out the stock cats, remove the muffler in the middle and install 2 excellerator mufflers (I ran them on my Prerunner years ago and they made me happy) It sounds good at idle, nice and deep, as I acclerate it quiets down a little and then if I get on it, it really opens up and gets loud.
  11. try http://www.car-part.com try looking for air flow meter
  12. I was looking around on this page and seen that some 94-95 LS guys had the same jerking while driving at high speeds and it turned out to be the ECU, is there a difference between the engines in the 94+ LS and the 92 SC 1UZ
  13. yea it was a rebuilt http://www.invasionautoproducts.com/superc...sc-m908993.html I seen that clip of the SC with M90, thats what made me want the same setup, I'm sorry but just the sound of it makes me feel funny down below
  14. I was just coming back from a Sweetest Day lunch with my wife and when I was accelerating I noticed a kind of surging when I was getting on the gas. I was doing about 70 and took it up to 80 and I noticed that the rpms' held at about 3k for a second while it surged and then accelerated. I just did a full tune up, and did the trans fluid and filter. I've been running high octane since I got it in Sept. and when I had the fuel filter off I was told it was pretty clean. The car has about 170k on it. When I put it into gear from park I can feel it drop down or when I put it into reverse it kinda pops up in the rear, is this the trans mount going out? (its been a long time since I drove a rear wheel drive car so excuse me if its normal)
  15. from what I understand you just have to cut out the hood and your all set
