  1. One more reply. I'm 15 and can afford the repairs on this car mainly because I work alot and work on it myself. Once I get the regualr matinence issues out of the way I expect to see much less cost of ownership. If you get a WELL cared for LS, you wont be sorry. I have always thought how much cheaper it would be to just my have dad's 97 a camrey, but the LS makes up for it everytime I get in the car. Also my GF loves the ride. Both of the two you linked look good, but take them to a trusted mechanic and have them checked out thoroughly. Ask for all the matinance records and make sure the common issues have been adressed. Also they both will probably be needing a T-blet and water pump soon, if that hasn't already been done. I think you can do it if you put some effort into it. It depends though on how bad you want an LS. They are reliable and fabulous cars, but then again a slightly newer camry or corolla is just as reliable. Maybe just not as fabulous. If your fine with a camery go for that, but if you really want an LS, you can make it happen.

  2. Watch the old Fast And Furious (the very first one)... Learn from Paul Walker's mistake.. ;)

Are you talking about the begining where he over sprays and the floor board drops out? I've always wondered how that worked :P ?? If this is true I wont ever touch the juice. I like for my feet to have some place to rest. ROTFLMAO!!!!! Please I've heard the director of that movie say that whole scene is about "Suspending Disbeliefe". My plans nolonger include Nitrous so don't worry anyway.

  3. My bad. I didn't mean to short change the gods of car design by 2.2%. This is going to sound bad, but I did all that from memory, without lexus.com or anything. It truely is my dream :D lol. BTW the ISF is only like .1 seconds faster on it's 0-60 time than this beastly 5100LBS. god.

  4. I've had my LS up to 120mph. but my tires weren't balanced right so I slowed cause of wobble.

AAhhh man you have me beat by two. I've only done 118MPH in mine. Here's the good part though. It was in a 35mph zone :D . LOL That was pre firehydrant though. After my suspension work is done the Jcrome exhayst gets put on, as well as my homade air intake is created. we will race. I have been thinking about a 50shot of NOS. Any thoughts?

I do wonder why the LS430's and the new LS460's are limited at 130mph ensted of 149, like the LS400. The 460's should be able to hit 160 I believe.

  5. Before TB cleaning. I had very little power at any less than 1/4 throttle (once I was past that I was fine). I pulled off my TB (broke on of the hoses) and saw enough carbon to make the worlds largest diamond, twice lol :D . My friend and I spent an hour just cleaning out the TB and what we could get at the intake manifold. It took a screw drive and a whole can of TB cleaner just for the one Butterfly valve, and another half can in the Intake manifold. I have pics on my phone of before and afters I will upload as soon as I get the memory card thingee. I do have a question about the TB gasket. Mine was crumbling and fell apart upon removal, and I needed my car and couldn't wait two days for one to be ordered. So I used RTV silicone gasket maker stuff and seams to be fine at low throttle, but a WOT I can hear an air vaccum sound that I have never heard before. Could this just mean I missed a spot with the silicone? I didn't want any to go into my intake manifold so I didn't use a huge bead. BTW My throttle response is much better, and she has more power then she had when I bought her.

  6. the fluid is nearly Identicel to my PS fluid. I will check the shocks and boot for leaks today. How would I check the rack? and how in the world would I go about taking it out and replaceing it? I was planning on replacing the tie rod ends, should I do "inner", "outer" or both? Also is there a DIY on that? I let you know what I find as soon as I can. THX

if its the rack just replace the whole damn thing from a salvaged car, tie rods and all.

Dude, call autozone/oriellys, or one of those chains, and tell them what you are looking for. I priced a remaned R&P for a friends LS from Autozone for $389. Toyota wanted $1100 for the same remaned part.

What am I looking at labor wise? Can I DIY or is it a mechanic job? If so how much for labor? I know a guy with a good parts car, but Is it worth it to take out a used one or just buy one? THX

  7. yes they did total it out and heres is the finished results http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...hl=fixed+almost BTW I'm an honor student too. for being budah you seem a bit harsh. :P

You did well fella. My hat off to you. So many kids your age would just ask dad to get a new one. You sowed some good work there, and some good moves for becoming a good adult... Good Job... Raising a dead car from the junk to one to be proud to drive is a good feeling...

I wish I could just ask for a new one. :D LOL But ehh I would be paying for it, so thats not an option. I have always loved cars. This is my baby, I would never let her die lol. She is going to need some major steering and suspinsion work, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem thanks to the savings on the body work. I hope to get her running better than new by the time I graduate and go off to collage. Thanks for the props Budah.

  9. It could very well be the ps boot. The fluid is the same color as my PS fluid. I hope that I didn't damage the rack but if I did how would I be able to check. Is there a DIY write up on the boot and tie rod ends or should I just pay to have that done? THX alot KF

  10. My 93 Ls is dripping a dark fluid from the cv boot I believe. It's only coming out of the front right wheel area, which is the same wheel that impacted the fire hydrant a month or so ago. My wheel alignment is also off. Should the cv boots be replaced or do you think more susspinsion work is needed?
