  1. To be honest with you, the only thing I like about ULTRA Luxury is the panoramic roof (it makes the vehicle stand out especially with starfire pearl or golden almond exterior), I don't care much about Mark Levison or the 10 spoke wheels. I checked my local dealer and they said the have 09 ULTRA starfire pearl exterior in stock and golden almond being built, which kind of suprised me since I thought they are low in stock. Still even if I get to invoice of 40K, I still think it's a lot of an ES. I'm thinking of buying a used one, and this one I found: 2007 CPO ULTRA LUXURY, Golden Almond Exterior 60,000 miles Price Ask: $25,995 CPO: 3 years or 100,000 miles Was a private lease before Seems like a fair deal? Any room for negociation? I'm asking them to lower to $23,000. The other problem is it's 1,500 miles away for where I live, so I'm looking at paying for an additional of $1,000 for delivery. (unless I fly one way there and drive it back, which cost about $400 including air fair and gas, idk). You have to take into consideration your time and money. 60K miles is not too bad for this car, I would not buy this car without looking at it and doing a test drive. Now, 25K is IMO is not terrible high, but for the miles I think right at 23.5 would be decent and acceptable, try to meet them with that offer $23.5 and see what happens.....
  2. Oh sure...rub it in...doesn't work on mine :( Umm.....sorry would it help if I mentioned that I have an ES, thought this may have been standard feature across the Lexus line...but apparently not.....
  3. To roll up all your windows up including closing the sunroof. Hold down the small tab on the door knob for about 5 seconds. It works!!...
  4. which buttons exactly? :o the buttons to open and close the moonroof. it is accessible in the day time but when the car cools off in the evening the buttons sticks real hard. hope you can help. Take it to the dealer and let them remove the plate around it so the buttons can be cleaned. Also a good reputable detail shop could probably do the same work. I would just go to the dealer.
  5. It is not possible to get a Panoramic Roof and Mark Levinson sound system w/o the UL trim. However, having 'said' that check for everything else, perforated leather seats, rear sun shade, navigation system, with back-up camera, wood trim steering wheel, HID/AFS, 10 spoke graphite wheels. If these check off then you indeed had the UL package. For an 08 this is great price for a UL package considering the miles. I'm still somewhat concerned that it's not Lexus certified, but you still have quite a bit of warranty left, so that's not a show stopper. Clean CarFax, wow, this car was hardly driven. Was it a loaner vehicle? I think $34K would be really good price, but hey, if you can get the price down lower, then go for it!!..... Ahh, they just sold it today (sale pending since Saturday). I never thought of getting the ULTRA package, but now after seeing it in person, I felt in love with it. If I get a brand new one, how much should I aim for MSPR 44K, Invoice 40K. Wow, I'm sorry to learn that...$34k for a 2008 UL was indeed a very good price considering the miles...no wonder it didn't last long....that makes it like 'new'. Are you looking to get an 09?, because it may be a little hard, but not impossible to find one. I think for 09 Lexus cut back on production and I think the UL was impacted because they probably were not selling that many, so for 09 you can only buy one by special order, which could take out any savings if you were buying it on the lot. If you special order don't expect invoice, no way, you will pay close to MSRP, if not a little more. I did a quick search on Autotrader and I only saw a 08 w/27K miles for 40K, and another 08 for $39,995 (40) w/18k miles. So, for 2008 expect to pay around 37K, maybe a little less depending on the dealer and miles on the vehicle. If want new one then check locally first, there 'may' be few 09 UL out there. Let me know if need some help, I got a good deal on a 09 Level III (level III is close to the UL expect for the Mark Levinson, Roof and 10 spoke graphite wheels) in ATL. There may be a few UL's in the ATL area although that's just a hunch. .... :D

  7. This problem is easily solved by using Chrome polish every now and then. Works wonders....and prevents the rust from returning....if used regularly........
  8. I have not seen any Ultra's in the Atlanta area dealerships, in fact when I got my ES in January my sales consultant told me that Lexus was cutting back on production on some models due to the downturn in the economy. So this is probably true. I see very few Ultra's here in GA.......In fact I don't think they ever made that many anyway, I never seen that many even in 2007......
  9. I have not even thought of using anything other than what Lexus deems as the best gasoline for my 2009 ES and that is 91+ octane. Why would I want to cheap out and use 87 when that is not the 'best' gasoline for my car? I do believe long term use of 87 octane will definitely degrade engine performance. Sure Lexus says you can use 87, your car can't run on water, but I believe they said that because they know that some people will buy a $40K+ car and refuse to use premium gas because regular is cheaper. It's a no win situation. The key word they used is 'optimum', so if you use 87, fine, but don't be surprised if your engine starts having problems down the 'road'. I think it's clear. Those who use 87 really have been warned, in a subtle way..so don't call your lawyer... :D
  10. I just google Ultima Interior Guard....I just may try it to compare with 303. Could be better....
  11. The dealer needs to address this problem, even if they have to give you a loaner while car sits in the heat....I'm sure they should be able to duplicate the problem.... ;)
  12. I live in Middle GA and the temps here are typically 90 + on most days. I have a Obsidian/Black with a Nav system. I would expect this car to attract heat and it does, however I have not experienced this problem at all with my CD player or radio. I would note the conditions when this happens, it could be a faulty CD player. Dealer should investigate further.
  13. I have a 2009 and I consistently clean my dash with no problems....using a damp micro-cloth...I recommend Aerospace 303. Read the reviews on this product. If you are 'anal' about your car then this is the real deal!!..........
  14. I'll take the ES 350 over the HS. I hope with this design, Lexus is not trying to imitate GM, the two tone seats are so Malibu...and not very Lexus like. Let's keep it real Lexus, no need to dip into the American domestic cookie jar..... :o
  15. Welcome to the club. I hope that you are enjoying your Lexus. I use a lightly damp microfiber towel on the Nav screen, but I have also used Bausch & Lombs 'Sight Savers' (used for eyewear), both with excellent results. I always wash my car using Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner. This products lathers really well and preserves the factory/dealer wax. I bought my 09 in January of this year and I still have a great shine using this product. I highly recommend it. I use Zaino's Perfect Tire Gloss for my tire dressing. It's another excellent product and will keep your Lexus looking showroon new.
  16. Yellow is definitely out IMO...Red rules especially with granite/black....
  17. I guess I'm in the minority here. I just purchased a 09 Lexus ES Level III and I find the sound system great. I can boost the bass to a level where I'm pleased. I love music and I was not expecting a 'surround sound' experience, but no complaints.
  18. Welcome aboard...I'm glad you are enjoying your Lexus, Yes, this one 'sound proof' car and an extremely smooth ride. As mentioned the Nav does not pronounce street names, but it's more than adequate IMO....
  19. Great news...glad you got it settled. Someone mentioned that the 2009 Lexus is having problems with this issue. This is NOT a Lexus problem. As mentioned by several members, care should be taken when filling the gas tank to ensure that gas is not spilled. I don't know of any car that would withstand a gas spill if left on for several days. It would certainly result in some blemish of sorts. I believe my dealer would have taken car of this problem right away, not all dealers are equal. Finally, this is a honey of car and it really shines when cleaned and taken of.....
  20. Hello, I would try the below link, lexuspartsworld: http://www.lexpartsworld.com/Scripts/default.asp They have a set of all weather mats for $89.00, no cost for shipping...that's a good price IMO.....
  21. I would also check nada.com for invoice. I have a 2009 ES level III...list price was 41670.00...I paid right at 37K. I'm in GA, not sure what the market is like in the Boston area. Now for a Level IV ES, your MSRP is going to be around 43K...so I would expect a good price would be in the mid to high 38K range. Since you already know that you want the Ultra-package...all you need to concentrate on is price. I would negotiate the bottom line price w/o any mention of trade-in and then go from there. Good Luck ....
  22. I have a obsidian/black 09 ES. The dealer warned me about swirl marks if I use a buffer. I'm looking at using a wax-synthetic blend. I heard Meguiar's NXT is very good.
  23. Umm a trailer hitch connected to an ES? Is it me or is something wrong with this picture......
  24. Well said a1. This car rocks. I have a 09 Level III (nav+park-assist) that I purchased in January and I'm very happy with it. While I wish the sound system was better, the rest of car over-shadows the small blemishes.
