  1. Is there any way to clean it without disassembly? I know I've got bug guts and stuff in there. Could it be pressure washed from behind?

  3. Nice review. But I guess I disagree on the styling. If I don't like the looks of it, I ain't buyin' it. To me, this borders on gaudy It could be any wanna be car on the road. Lexus got it right with the 1st and 2nd gens 18 years ago. Pure Class.

  5. You're in the right spot blayd. Sounds like the dreaded ' trunk wire harness ' issue again. Search the term. You'll nail it. Nevermind- Here ya go: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=50087 "This same type of problem happened to me about a year ago. This smooth world class car started balking, cutting out, lurching, wild rpms, dash flickering, radio went out when hitting the brakes, just seemed ready for the junk yard. It happened all of a sudden. No warning. I thought the engine was toast. Now it's smooth as silk w/ 255,000 miles on it. Open the trunk. On the left side you will see a wire harness on the left hinge. After repeated openings and closings the wires inside that harness become fatigued and frayed. Then they start shorting out. Then sputtering, stalling, and everything you describe. This is a design flaw and lexus knows it. If this describes your problem, then remove the plastic bracket on the left hinge, strip down the harness, untwist all the wires, re-connect, then re-tape. Make sure to leave off the hinge bracket that ensures tension on the harness. Just let the whole mess swing free and loose. In my case, problem solved, and no spending thousands of dollars in diagnostics, parts, and tech snafus. Best of all, it's free. Takes about 30 minutes."
  6. Wow! Thanks guys. The last time it was done, I think it was around $1200.00-1300.00. But I can't remember where it was. Now I'm sure it's more. I'll give the Yoda dealship a call when it's time.
  7. Since yours is an interference type engine, I would not play around. As suggested above, eyeball the belt with a strong flashlight looking for wear/ hairline cracks and also if you can, feel it to see if it is starting to disintegrate. My guess is it's fine, but check anyway. 24,000 is not much runtime on a belt that beefy. Hell, get a techs opinion. Congrats!
  8. Glad to hear of the good experience, but does anyone know if they get a parts discount? In other words, would you get a better price from Toy on a T-belt/waterpump relacement?

  10. The board's been a bit slow lately. The pump should have been changed when they did the belt. Double check the history to see if it was. I would do a pressure flush on the cooling system, refill with proper coolant, and have them check pressure. Toyota can do it cheaper probably. Let us know what they found.
