  1. For the 15-20 other people who also posted this exact same problem ,once the battery was changed it was rectified. Search for there posts for more info
  2. Idle air flow motor is the IACV idle air control valve which was mentinoed to clean . It needed to be removed to be cleaned properly.
  3. Agreed it is the same car. The LS should give you better highway milage but the gs better city. Ls is more softer and luxury while the GS is more sport.
  4. That is a big difference to go to a 50 from the normal 60 series tires. My 98 uses 225/60 16's stock as should yours. The 97 had the same size as well.
  5. Then call a lock smith as you are SOL'd . There is no simple or easy way to remove the door without it opening.
  6. You need to run the harness which includes the relay. It basically clips into 1 original socket so it uses 1 wire as a remote turn on for the fog lights. It has 2 more wires going to the battery terminals +/- . That is it . It will have a fuse and relay built in to feed both ballasts with modified 9006 plugs. Harnesses run about $20-30 with relay and fuse. BTW all bulbs are not created equal and any bulb that has wires connected to it is not an original phillips/osram patent paid bulb. It is has wires from the ballasts to bulbs dot not buy it. All oem setups have a large round connector which twists onto the back of the bulbs directly anything else is substandard Remember the site i gave you earlier in the thread. Go there is has all the answer you will ever want to know to answer your questions. Check out www.hidplanet.com

  8. I personally feel they are a rip off , charing way too much for the kits. If you peice together the parts yourself you can get an OEM quality kit for $200-300 bulbs and ballasts which is going to last forever ,well except the bulbs which may need replacing 4-5years. I have had about 6 HID kits of them all my phillips kit i bought 5 years ago for $600 still works perfectly and is a gen 3 phillips ballast with OEM d2r bulbs rebased to 9006. Check out www.hidplanet.com for more info and prices.
  9. I have never heard of jdm in my life. Anyone who calls a company JDM is looking for consumers who want to say they have something not to actually have the true product. JDM being "Japanese domestic market " which is just oem toyota ,honda and other asian home market parts that are not usually dot . On the hid kits get a phillips set up and be sure exactly what you are going to get is going to last by having there true quality behind it.
  10. The nuts head is actually specific to each wheel not car as it is only for the clearance.
  11. The engineers say the additives "can be harmful to the fuel system and engine" but don't say specifically what the consequences could be. I'm just pointing out that the Lexus owners who disobey the engineers and go ahead and use gas & oil additives and / or advise others to do so don't know what the specific consequences could be either. Thank dad (monarch) , like we really need or care to hear you and the owners manual. I think most of us could figure out that adding them is at our own consequence . Since you have no proof would you please stop posting on the thread for arguments sake of being devil's advocate.
  12. It is supposed to have a better ride than pneumatic tires but since very few have driven in one a unbiased rating is hard to come by. Also it would have to be enclosed in some sort of way other wise dirt and snow would build up causing it to get extremely off balance and vibrate excessively . I know this from my 17 inch rims on my civic , they have such large opening s that snow gets in there and makes them really vibrate the car when snow compacts in there and won't spin out for nothing.
  13. Benz is really hoping that the new S will bring them back . If the reliability is the same then i can't see anything for them positivly . As that is there biggest downfall next to having 5 standard features and 300 additional extra $ options that double the price of there cars.
  14. wow .......... Monarch i am not sure where to start with your rebuttal . Carbon is a good and normal thing in your engine then keep it that way. I don't think you have anything more to add other than regurgitate the owners manual. I actually never found you annoying but a statement like "I don't have carbon build-up on my intake or exhaust valves sufficient to cause a severe decrease in the flow past them because my power, fuel economy and exhaust emissions are still excellent." is completely unfathomable. How would you even know??? It is your best assumption. This is just stupid to even go on with this. Carbon is never something you want to leave in any engine. Monarch you are just like those people knocking on the door early in the morning coming to preach about religion and how you should join or you will go to hell. They are down right annoying and so are you constant bible thumping of the owners manual. It is something ...........whatever i am done.
  15. this has been covered more than a few times in the past month alone about aftermarket rotors. The drilled and slotted discussion is also a long and simple one.
  16. search . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . iacv
  17. They look exactly identical to the 98-2000 as well as the 97 ls coach edition wheels. Except they are not machined on the face to have a beutiful shiney but clean finish.
  18. Or get HID's as you are now spreading the light output to scatter into oncoming traffic which is really annoying if you are the other driver.
  19. I love the stuff and bought a case last year spring . I use it in all 4 of my cars and it works great. On my 98 LS it had the most smoke and the biggest initial change after the first intake usage. The fuel mileage and power gained noticeable. I used a water bottle and one of the vacuum lines right by the throttle which sucked the bottle flat with the amount of suction. It does vaporize quickly so having the car warm enough to turn the fan on in auto mode for the HVAC is where i would turn off the car and have it ready to begin suction of the seafoam. Do it as fast as possible and leave it to sit for 10 minutes then throw the remaining can in the gas tank.
  20. The 2 lenghts are just that ,no other differences and they both work fine for any car and rim combo (toyota, lexus). 1 is about an inch long and the other is 2 inches long but both seat the wheel the same way just makes it easier to attach a socket or tire wrench .
  21. Newer glass mirrors like mine are electro chromatic ,meaning they dim as well as being heated. Mine costs 375 from the dealer just for the glass the whole mirro is close to 700 as it has memory adjustment also. If it is not dimming then get a fit over replacment for about $40 the heat will still come through the new glass on top of it just not as fast.
  22. If it is a factory wheel then the factory lugs will fit perfectly.
