  2. And in accordance with my style of posting meet pictures: The Wheel Deal.
  3. My favorite part of the show. This took me back to high school. The Toronto Supra Club made a showing with alot of well preserved Supras. NICE!!!!!
  4. SKPerfomance's ES and a beautiful black IS300 (sorry dude, I forgot your name).
  5. Let's make with the pictures. Lexusfreak's ES Lexusfreak (left) and me (right) with respective rides.
  6. NM, yes, I suggest you do it. It is not perfect, but it is a far cry from the 2002 programming. It will take a little time to learn you habits, but it is much better than what we had. As for the mpg, I am still getting 22-23 for around town and 27-30 for highway. steviej
  7. Try this. 1. start the car but leave it in park. 2. postion the seat to where you want. 3. step on the brake pedal and keep you foot there while doing steps 4 and 5. 4. press and hold the SET button on the memory selector. 5. press the desired memory button (1 or 2). now check you work. take you foot of the brake but leave the car in park. using the seat controls, move the seat way out of position. While the car is still in park, press the memory button that you programmed in step 5 above. Did the seat go back to where you programmed it? steviej
  8. That's not too bad, come to Boston, 1800 sq feet will run you upwards or $600K. We always say, you can sell/move out of New England but you can come back. steviej
  9. Rippin, look at the dash, specifically the selector lights between the fuel guage and the temp guage. If the Green Square with a D lights up you are in the proper shift position where overdrive is accessable. The shift lever should be toward the passenger side. If the Green Square with a 4 lights up, you are in the position where overdrive is blocked out. The shift lever will be towards the driver's side. steviej
  10. I wish you the best in your acceptance of the reflash. Keep in mind, it is not perfect, but it is a hell of a lot better. steviej
  11. dude, that is $1700 each. So your talking over $6800 just for rims. "what's in your wallet"???!!!!
  12. I'm guessing since VGR/monarch/saber is constantly condeming the way young people and SUV onwners drive that he got that many miles on his rotors cause his vehicles never see the high side of 20 mph. :whistles: :D just kidding, couldn't resist that one. steviej
  13. here is an 02 ES with 18" Enkeis. The picture was shot in Cohasset, MA. Where are you in this fine state? As for other pictures, thumb through the Gallery and the Garage. One member, HoeBag comes to mind. It hink he has 18s on his earlier ES. What do you want to spend on rims? That website link seemed pricey.
  14. I believe the "sensor" that tells the gas pump to shut off is in the nozzle not in the car. Which brings me to my idea, but may be too late now that the car is at the dealer. Did anyone try filling your tank with a 5 gallon red jug? You know, the type we have in the garage to fill the lawn mower. If the gas went in and immediately backed up, then you got blockage. These jugs have no shut off, except the person pouring. Just curious if anyone tried this. post the isolated problem/solution when the dealer discovers what is wrong. steviej
  15. Update on my tranny reflash. It has been almost 1500 miles since the reflash. (A round trip from Boston to Toronto will do that to your odometer) 1. The shifting is still very pleasing to me. 2. There is no joggle at 40 mph. 3. The shifting on the highway is very nice when passing and getting up to speed rapidly. 4. Only once did I feel the dreaded redline and no shifting. However, it was from 10 mph, I floored it, going up a steep hill while turning right coming out of a mall. 5. I am in learning mode too, so I am still getting used to the shifting. I keep expecting the old tranny to come back. So far so good. My travel to Toronto and back was all major highways. I averaged 29.5 mpg for the entire trip, and it was mostly driving 75-80 mph. I will post in two or three tankfuls the mpg for around town driving. steviej
  16. Not true!!! When I had my ECU reflashed, I chose to wait for the car. My service advisor noticed my tank was just below half, so he gave me a slip to fill my tank at the gas station they use up the street. I got $21.50 worth of free gas. It may not be their standard of practice for every customer, but for me on that day, I got free gas with my service. steviej
  17. Lexusfreak, you don't have PIAAs. The bulbs we put in are Sylvania Silverstars. The case I brought them each up to Toronto in where from my PIAA ion crystals. steviej
  18. here is a link for your bulbs. sylvania automotive lamps The bulb you seek is a 9006. steviej
  19. VGR/monarch/saber you are bordering on automotive profiling. :whistles: steviej
  20. ok............now exhale, annnnnnnnnnnd smile. Initial impression with about 100 miles of highway, backroads, and city travel. I am very impressed with the most recent reflash (#TC004-03R). The major problem we all hate, the push the pedal to the floor-watch the tach skyrocket and wait for the car to catch up is gone. If I hit the pedal to the floor the tach goes up and the car accelerates accordingly. However, don't get hesitation and slow acceleration mixed up. The tach doesn't skyrocket as previously and the car does pick up speed rapidly. But guys, we are not in a turbo or supercharged ES, so the pick up is not gonna get you in the NHRA. It did get me in an out of traffic, on ramps and intersections like I expect. I also noticed that upon rapid acceleration, the tranny found/dropped to the gear I would have chosen if it were a manual. Another plus. As for shifting, 1st gear duration is very quick, you are there for seconds if that. 2500 rpm and it goes to the next gear under normal acceleration. 4000 rpm when I hit the floor quickly with the pedal. The gear changes are as smooth as before the reflash. Red-lining is also possible, but the speed of the car is comensorate. I managed this when I was doing about 30 and smashed it. I was doing 60 in an instant. The roads were slick to so I don't know if the rpms went higher due to the tires slightly breaking traction. It barely gets over the begining of the redline and then the tranny drops to the next gear (putting you far from redline again). I am comfortable with that, if I ever have to stomp on it. The joggle that I used to get at 40mph when it couldn't make up its mind for 4th or 5th is gone (or at least not noticed today). Now, mind you the ECU is learning at step 1 again and the car only has 100 miles on the new program. I can say that the shifting is changed and from what I have seen today, for the better......MUCH BETTER. I cannot make any prognosis as to what the operation or performance of this reflash is for the long term, but I will most definately keep you posted as to the what I see with my ES. SW, as for driving the way that we adapted.........that still works as smooth as ever, too. steviej
  21. I started to have hints of surging and the mileage dropped 1-2 mpg. Solution for me was a new set of plugs. steviej
  22. You can always threaten small claims court. That usually puts a fire under their butts. Make sure you have all dates and conversations documented. steviej
  23. I am having it done at 8am tomorrow morning steviej
