  1. Sorry to hear about the stain - that would drive me nuts too! After your recommendation for the Primacy's I quoted the lowest price in town to my Lexus dealer and they came within about $50 of matching the price; then I had the $70 rebate. Tom Wood in Indianapolis is very good about matching other's prices. And, if they eff something up like the speaker, they are always quick to make it right. I bought my Primacy's with 27k miles on my MY08 and the car now has 48K and the tires barely look like they have any wear. Primacy’s are simply awesome tires - couldn’t be happier.
  2. My 2008 with 44k miles did the same thing you describe Saturday. I took it to the dealer, and after they witnessed the problem, it started working correctly again? They just said to bring it back if it stops working again. Hmmmmm.
  3. Mine has been on for 36 months or so, and I do wax it or it gets yellow (my car is white). I always take a q-tip with a little goo-gone and run it along the edge gently and it removes the wax and or dirt line. Then I wipe it off with water. I have to be honest, it would make me nervous if an edge was coming up; that really shouldn't happen. It should be on there so good that it almost takes the paint with it if you try to remove it.
  4. Update: At my 35K service, I still had 8mm on both front and rear. It has about 37.5K miles now.... longest I have ever driven a car - I must like it!
  5. I have a 2008 with 37K miles and experienced the same issues with very few miles i.e., 10K. The Lexus dealer completely removed the dash and lined it with a cloth material. They also had to replace a spring in the steering column that was rattling. This was all under warranty and I am sure would be quite expensive out of warranty. I had two other rattles they had to remedy: the first was a weld within the passengers door (they had to redo the spot weld) and second was both of the seatbelt holders on the B-pillars (they had to line both with cloth as well). Not what I initially expected from Lexus, but the dealer in Indianapolis fixed the problem and everything has been great ever since. Also, when I replaced the crap OEM tires with Michelin Primacy's, the car is now tomb quiet.
  6. I've had my Primacy's for about 10 months and 6+k miles. I am just as happy as the day I got them. They are amazing and I am a bit of a tire snob. You can't go wrong with the Primacy's. My Lexus dealer matched the price of Sears to gain my business. Very nice tire experience all around.
  7. A big congratulations! This is great - very excited for you! I have had my 350 for nearly three years (longer than any other car in my life) and I like it more and more each day.
  8. I took the car back to the dealer and asked to speak with the shop foreman. He said "I don't know why anyone would say that was normal." He then ordered a new headlight assembly.
  9. I took my car in for the 30k mile service (or part of it, I changed the filters, etc., myself); when the dealer returned the car the driver’s side headlight had condensation in the light cavity. In the interest of full disclosure, it has been 90+ degrees and raining around Indiana, for days. I called the dealer today and they said, that the light housing is airtight and condensation inside is “normal” (which is confusing to me if it is airtight) and I should just keep my eye on it, but it will result in no damage and it is “no big deal.” I do not have the xenon headlamps, just the standard lights. LOC has been a good sounding board when I am about to make a mountain out of a molehill. So, let me know if I should proceed with the mountain making. Thanks in advance.
  10. Pet - I have a 08 ES, I had the Energy's and now have the Primacy's - it is like night and day. I am 31 and sometimes drive like I am 55 and sometimes like I stole the damn thing; the Primacy's are amazing. The only tires my Lexus dealer recommends are the Primacy's and that is mainly what they install. If there are legal issues I am sure they wouldn’t do so, as they are hypersensitive of legal issues as I found out when the confiscated my floor mats. You will simply be amazed when you drive your car with the Primacy's.
  11. "Take the glove box door out" ?? What does that even mean?
  12. I have the cheap version of the 350..... so I just use the volume buttons on the steering wheel..... they work for me.
  13. To breifly clarify my price: I think the dealer quoted me $1,015 and Sears was more like $780. I called the dealer and told them I would rather do business with them (as they have treated me very well with a few other issues) and they came down to within $150 of Sears, which was close enough for me to give them the business. No doubt they can be had cheaper than a Lexus dealer though.
  14. I echo SW's comment. I had the S8's and hated them. I bought the Primacy's and love them. They are fantastic. Even when I drive a loaner ES with 3-5k miles on it.... I can totally tell how much smoother and quieter my car is due to the Primacy's.
  15. I live in Indiana and I have had Michelin Primacy's since Jan. I am in love with them. I did a lot of research and they are what I kept coming back to - the dealer had them in stock and said they are what they recommend as replacement tires. They were somewhere around $850 all said and done.
  16. Yes, we all have our opinions. I personally think your reasons for wanting to order a 350 a truly laughable. If you want a certain color combo they dont offer, that is one thing. But a spare tire and shift knob? Yowza.
  17. I ordered a Scion some time ago (that was also built in Japan) and they quoted me 12 weeks for delivery. Ultimately it was at the dealer in 3.5 weeks. I feel the dealers quote a certain delivery time to protect themselves from customers becoming upset, e.g. they tell you four weeks and it takes five and you are upset for a week. One of my best friends ordered an Amber Pearl 350 with black interior, premium plus package with the UL wheels and it took a little over 5 weeks to arrive; he was still miffed. ;)
  18. I would sooner hurl myself down a sandpaper slide into a pool of alcohol than mount anything to my dash. Just sayin.
  19. My dealer (Tom Wood Lexus in Indianapolis) did a great job and charged just over $500, which I thought was a lot! Seems way more reasonable than $1,200 though. I have been very pleased since my satellite was installed.
  20. If you accidentally depressed the unlock button on your key fob for an extended period it will open the windows and the moonroof. Maybe you or your grandson held the unlock button a little too long?
  21. I just put Michelin Primacy’s on my ES and they are to die for. Quiet as can be, smooth, etc. I am SO happy with the purchase. My mileage did drop a bit, but I don’t care! They are SO smooth!
  22. Mine just looks like a small mop head... and I stick it in the washer every other use. (A women's make-up brush..... what a good idea!)
  23. Honestly, those are the ugliest wheels I have ever seen - bar none.
  24. I detail my car once a week and I use a duster I purchased at AutoZone for the dash and console area, etc. I use an Oakley sunglasses case for the gauge cluster. This method seems to work just fine for me. The dash material is very sensitive, so you can’t do too much to it without it scratching or marring.
