  1. which is why you use a pro. Most backyard guy's throw their needles off by just replacing the backlight.
  2. It's likely your mirror ECU. if checking the fuses yields no result, you'll know.
  3. the flexlite fans are overbuilt and cause you to have to upgrade your alternator. They are for high performance engines, not street driven daily drivers that are mostly stock.
  4. the question is does it go dead while sitting or while driving. If it goes dead while sitting you have a leaky power supply capacitor in the amps. It may be that you have such a problem and do not actually know it because it is weak by the time you start it. THEN compound that with a weak alternator and you got a big problem buck-O.
  5. There is no good way. Hell it takes 2 hours just to get the register out to fix the crack that is prevalent in every SC.
  6. Welcome Brian. You'll enjoy the car for a long time as long as you keep the maintenance up. Step one... replace all the rubber on the car, primarily underneath.
  7. When it quits running. :P if it ain't broke don't fix it.
  8. Speed sensor or motor in the speedo itself.
  9. It's the check valve on the side of the PS pump. Small black cylinder with two vac lines coming out of it going to the intake. It has a slider in the side that pulls in and out and allows more fluid to flow. When it goes bad it sticks and causes noise, also it allows PS fluid to leak out into the intake as well as air to get into the system.
  10. I could have told you that they suck. Iridium's (nippendenso) and TM's are all that are worth having.
  11. As far as the electrical aspect, a relay will handle the power control by simply using the ACC wire to trigger the relay.
  12. that and the LCA's are the two things that do it. Either are likely a cause as they are both high wear areas. Rule of thumb is that if the tranny mount is bad, time to do ALL the rubber under there, including the bushings for the arms.
  13. There is an under the hood fuse that is 100 amp and also has control over that area of the car.
  14. the needles do not burn out :whistles: lextech's needle failure rate is less than 3% over 3000 clusters+. geez, it's like people just say whatever they want these days.
  15. Hi Sam, I don't know if it's the same for 1993 but in my 1992-SC400 book it says this; CODE 14 : NO IGF1 SIGNAL FROM IGNITOR NO.1 - IGNITION CODE 41 : OPEN OR SHORT IN CIRCUIT FOR MORE THAN 0.5 SECOND - THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR. If you wish I can email you the 2 complete pdf files for my 1992 manual. Cheers! ← ← Hey Guys, I have a problem also. I don't know what the codes would be but my 1997 SC300 runs and cranks beautifully unless I let the car sit for more than 3 days. Then the battery dies and I have to jump it off. Yes, I have replaced the battery and was told the alternator is OK. Do you think I could have a short circuit somewhere? All the interior lights, radio and everthing works unless I let it sit for 3 or more days??? Any suggestions? If you are anywhere near TN (I see you are in GA) you can use my big Snap on scanner. It'll tell you what you had for breakfast. I'm hoping (guessing) you had it fixed by now since you posted in february.
  16. I've had to do it 3 times total between my 2 sc's and I was able to slide it out with my tongue aimed north, one foot planted across the trac control box, and one arm pointing towards Jupiter Florida. It's pretty much a crap shoot hitting the perfect twisting angle.
  17. I did a write up on how to change the compressor. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=170854 That'll save you a lot of labor costs.
  18. The AC boots idle when it is on. When you turn it off the idle should release and drop, but not cut off obviously. The system that controls this is at fault.
  19. I havew had experience with Lextech Lighting, and I cannot recommend then to anyone until they make things right foir me. Right now, they will not answer my eamails asking for help. Before the sale they promise the world and after the sale they 'don't know you', because 'they are way too busy to do the work accurately'. They' take a cluster off the pile' pull the needles, stick new ones on (sometimes) and on to the next'. All their talk of carefully calibrating and checking each unit is Bull$%&*. They live in the eworld, yet they can barely express themselves thru emails. Can you se4nse that I am a little unhappy with them ? vman1100... java script:emoticon('', 'smid_16') That's a complete lie. No body responds quicker through email. Go tell that jive to someone else. Then post lies a bit more. Every sentence of that was pure lie. Do you have nothing better to do?
  20. 18" Evo's are my favs in the bang for the buck wheel. Simple, clean, class. Here's mine. :)

  22. Dash USA is currently under litigation for copyright infringement and will not be able to warranty any of their products after the final judgement because they will not be allowed to build waterfall needles. FYI
  23. Shipping knocked the temp needle off and you stuck it back on and complained because you didn't stick it in the right spot? You don't deserve to be a buyer of anything from any vendor. Incorrect, the needles were already weighted and calibrated. After it was knocked off in shipping all YOU had to do is stick it on. You just clearly said all you purchased was needles, Lextech did not replace or touch your backlight. It is WELL documented on these forums that old bulb filament does not always fire, especially when it has been hit and jolted around in shipping hard enough to knock a needle completely off the cluster! You can stir the old filament by smacking the dash while the unit is turned on. This obviously had nothing to do with Lextech. You did not purchase backlight, you are complaining about your own 14 year old bulbs - laughable. It's buyers like yourself that give good vendors a bad name. You purchased needles and complained about 14 year old backlight. You admitted shipping was so rough that it knocked a needle off the unit, then placed the needle on the contacts incorrectly and blamed the vendor. FYI the needle can swivel up to one full quarter of the gauge on the contacts. Anyone with a stock cluster can go outside and take their stock needle off and place it back on the contacts off and it will read incorrectly and can be up to one full quarter of the gauge reading off. Once the needle is weighted and the motor is adjusted to the new needle, all that is required of the consumer should a needle be knocked off is to simpy stick it back in place correctly where it should be, LLS has already done the hard work, but you did not know that because you were too busy making rude accusations. For your knowledge also Lextech is not a repair center and does not staff techs. They are an engineering firm that designs upgraded solutions for Lexus electrical systems. The engineers implement the designs into the units. You don't seem to have a single fact to your post at all. ALL SELLERS - beware! This is a horrible buyer and he does not seem to have much sense either.
