  1. lextreme.com has torque convertors for the sc400 i think its like $175 for a 2800 rpm
  2. jimbostar let me know how long it takes you
  3. Take the headlight out. I tried for ever to get it out with out taking out the headlight. Then finally just gave up took like 3 minutes to get the light out and it made my life alot easier. The headlight has one 10mm (if i remeber right) bolt on the right side on the top and two 12mm bolts on the left kind of tucked behind it. The top one on the left I got easily with a ratchet the lower one i had to use a standard wrech on. Hope that helps.
  4. http://www.carstereohelp.com/repairDoItYou...usRepairVol.htm have you been here yet??
  5. It should adjust how quick it shifts, valve body tuning usually helps quickness alot but the standard shift kit should make it kick into gear quicker if I am wrong someone please explain why
  6. http://planetsoarer.com/pdf/xfactorcolour.p HUGE X-PIPE and Good reading
  7. I ordered mine from a magnaflow wholesaler...3 inch inlet is the size pipe going into the back of the muffler. The stock sc400 has a 2.25 inch pipe run for the exausht but I am running all new 3 inch pipe from my headers back (After i pay taxes now i owe the stupid governement money) so i needed the back of the muffler to be able to take a 3 inch pipe. Hope that helps
  8. I couldnt find the egg cup things anywhere so i am using 2.5" cookie cutters, it turned out looking pretty good though, I at least i thought so. A small sizer would have been needed to fit three.
  9. I have that vent I was actually going to extend that one and then design another one to flow into the chamber that i need to create yet around the holes
  10. Going to try to do a version of it, i have some ideas that i want to try expanding off the BFI 3 from planetsoarer.com
  11. I got started on my BFI today here are the first photos still has aways to go yet. :D the one thing i noticed driving it even though its not done it is likes to wind up alot more at 3000rpm but it is a little boggier down on the low end more so then before...hoepfully changing my fuel filter as some other stuff will help reslolve that by getting some more gas to mix with the air. http://students.uat.edu/jusbrand/lexus/BFI.htm
  12. Does anyone know where the fuel filter is located on a 1992 sc400???
  13. Well they do help speed wise a little by having you shifter harder and faster you gain a faster speed getting up to speed. and considering the lexus wsa somewhat designed for luxury the transmission is a little slow on the shifts.
  14. http://planetsoarer.com/autotrans/autotrans.htm take a look if you are interested in type vi
  15. Yeah they are different but if the guy made it for the sc400 he may have one for the sc300...you may also want to look and find out if the tranny model matches the one on the supras if it does you may be able to use a supra shift kit
  16. BFI INTAKE: "Well guys I went on the dyno to day and was really blown away!!! The last time I went on this dyno I only achieved 128.4KW,as a stock std V8,well this time I clocked 139.9KW!!! and the only mod I have done is the BFI and changed the oil" side note 128.4 kw = 172.1 HP 139.9 KW = 187.5 HP And supposedly adding a TRD inatke filter to this helps even more and that was for alot less then the injen intake would cost you.
  17. i started running the KN high flow oil filter $8 at checker and i was using Castrol High performance Synthectic but I am switching to mobile 1 this time around, i noticed a much smmother running and happier engine with the performance oil..if you are going to leave the car stock i would say but some good oil not perfromace or synthetic but better the the 99 cent crap and use 10w30 summer/srping and 5w/30 in winter like you said, oil filter you may be fine with the toyota one once again if remaining stock but a fram wouldnt be bad either
  18. Planet soarer has reccomended that all sc models run the toyota type iv because of better quality the dexron
  19. Dude i am getting the same muffler with the 3 inch inelt 4 inch long and wide tip fro 165 shipped....250 seems pricey. The belwo is a list of my cost so far for anybody with an sc400 2- Magnaflow 14somenumber $165 1- 3 Inch x pipe $30 2- 3" Highflow cats $65 headers back 3" stainless steal madrel bent pipe and mount $375 I should note i still like the way your exhaust looks SPORtcoupe300
