  1. Why is that suprising? The Camry and the ES are platform mates, and Toyota and Lexus are the same company it stands to reason they would contract with the same tire manufacturers. Lexus isn't going to do anything now, all you can do is replace the tires. You might have been able to get them swapped with the wheels from some other ES when it was brand new, but not now 2 years and 15,000 miles in. Good tires for the ES will only cost you around $400 anyways.
  2. Exactly ;) Funny thing, my fiancee wants a Mazda 3 (which has radio controls on the wheel, costs $19,000 LOL) and she wants a somewhat hard to get color in the very rare nav/HID package. Guess how long until they can get it, they would have the car in a MAXIMUM of 6 hours. 6 HOURS! Thats the American Ford influence on Japanese Mazda there...
  3. I just found us discs for under $200! Oh well lol glad it worked out for you.
  4. There are fittings inside the wheel that need to be greased, Lexus sells the grease and its easy to do yourself.
  5. I have a lead... I'll get back to you.
  6. Nope, the system has no record of the street you listed. As for the model numbers you'd have to call them because it appears that model number with the "02" is the 2002 version of the software, or the one we already have, notice its under 2002 ES300 which would have the 2001 software....
  7. Got it, lemme go check now.
  8. Congrats! What year is that, 95? Are you sure the power wheel isn't functioning properly? The way it works is the wheel goes up and in when you remove the key, and then returns to whatever position it was last in when you insert the key. I found that true about the older ES' vs the LS too, the ride differences are more pronounced then compared to current gen ES' and LS' the ES has come a long way. In fact, its pretty hard to feel a difference in the ride of the ES and LS now, the LS may be a little quieter, and it seems a little softer sprung but thats about it.
  9. Our Authorized Trader jdmpartsguru could probably get you guys a lot of those accessories...
  10. Would perhaps some sort of ventvisor or something on the windows help alter the airflow?
  11. I disagree. A 2001 from a dealer is more likely to be a 3 year lease car with one leasee. Usually CPO dealer cars are only one owner, 1.5 year leases are extremely rare, and Lexus as a point of fact doesn't usually lease used cars. The specifics for a CPO car are very strict.
  12. Glass chipping is a common occurance in the winter, and extremely common on SUVs with poor aerodynamics like the GX. Not Lexus' fault, they're not going to do anything about it. Windshield replacement should be covered under your comprehensive insurance coverage. No big deal, its part of the realities of owning a car. If the glass cracked then a pebble hit it at some point. Bear in mind that when cold chips are much more likely to spread and crack, and it takes much less to damage the glass.
  13. The 2003 upgrade is availiable now...
  14. I had to have the parking brake completely rebuilt in my Explorer because it seized due to lack of use ;) If you never use the brake you'll never even know its seized. The problem is when you never use it, then use it once, and it jams locked.
  15. Any increase in wheel width will cause a reduction is smoothness and quietness because there is less sidewall to absorb bumps and cushion noise. The plusses for bigger wheels are better handling and better looks. If ride is your top priority always go with the smallest wheel diameter availiable. Lexus isn't going to offer bigger wheels anytime soon because of their claim to fame being the great ride and quietness.
  16. I wouldn't be so quick to discount ebay. There are several companies that for $100 or so will go out and do a detailed examination of the car cosmetically and mechanically and report back to you with a ton of pictures. Some of these reports highlight as much as every rock chip and are extremely thorough. BIG savings on ebay...
  17. Maybe it wasn't Lexus-Parts... Here it is: http://www.lexustoyotamitsubishiparts.com/...017&TopID=80000
  18. If the headlights are aligned improperly it can cause one light to appear brighter...

Have you tried calibrating the compass? The instructions are in the owners manual. As for the hatch, isn't there a switch to deactivate the power hatch on the dashboard? I had one as a loaner and had a hell of a time making the power hatch work. Maybe this switch has a short in it...
  21. 17 ;)
  22. It may be that the windshield is seated incorrectly. Lexus had a problem with this on the LS430 in 2001. I would take it back to the dealer and request a test drive in another 2004 LS430 for comparison. If the sound is not there, then they should reseat the windshield under warranty.
  23. If you really want to improve over stock you should buy some Sylvania Silverstars. Do a search for them that should pull up plenty of information.
  24. Alan- I can't find that PM, you may need to resend it.
  25. www.lexus-parts.com has it for $250. I'll check it out right now and post back. Thats the angle people are taking, that you purchased this unit for daily use, this is an address you use daily, it was build 5 years ago and your stance is that the system should read it, I've heard of people being successful with that.
