  1. Nope, this is not possible with the Verizon V710. Verizon deactivated the Bluetooth file transfer functions of their bluetooth phones so that people have to use their pay per use services to transfer pictures and files. Its a totally underhanded business practice but they did it, currently Lexus, BMW, and Acura are suing them and there is a class action lawsuit in CA pending. My fiance and I have a Prius with the Bluetooth and I paid $700 for two V710s and Verizon service and we got screwed because they don't work. I'm going to pay the $350 cancellation fee next month and go back to Cingular. Without the bluetooth file transfer you cannot make calls while moving from the car because the only way to enter phone numbers is by transferring them from the phone. You can still dial calls and if you make calls from the phone they will work through the car's system, but you wont be able to set up the car's phonebook with the V710 or any bluetooth phone from Verizon or Sprint. The phone also doesn't reliably sync with the car either, somnetimes it just won't transfer calls through. Its not only supposed to mute the radio its supposed to ring, and its supposed to show battery and signal stregnth on the screen, niether of which works because of Verizon crippling the bluetooth on the phone. So, no phonebook transfer, no ring, and no signal stregnth. All you can do is use a bluetooth earpiece. Beware that Sprint does this too, their LG Bluetooth phone doesn't support file transfers either. SO if you want a Bluetooth phone to work with the Lexus it has to be from Cingular or T Mobile because they're the only nationwide carriers that don't cripple their bluetooth phones to cheat their customers.
  2. Nope, we don't get the Avensis and we didn't get the Carina.
  3. What a horse's !Removed!, all of that over $11? Sad. Hope it works out!
  4. Yep, it is absolutely true. If you tear down a Lexus and tear down a Lincoln, Lincolns have FAR more sound deadening than a Lexus. Thats why tires don't matter as much on a Lincoln. Lexus focuses on making each component of the car make little noise, low drag, silent engines and smooth engine mounts etc whereas Cadillac and Lincoln cover up noises made by less sophisticated equipment.
  5. Nice, what is that a Honda? LOL kidding, from another thread we were talking in ;) Trade the SC on it?
  6. Not neccisarly, MOST people never feel the hesitation it all depends on how you drive.
  7. Check out www.lexls.com
  8. Check out the "Mercedes Converts" thread, I discuss the differences between the 400 and the 430 at legnth in there.
  9. Yeah its called smart entry, the current LS430 has it now. Its on the Prius and the new Avalon, Infiniti has it too. BMW on the 6 and 7 series. I believe Audi does. Cadillac has it on the new STS. The pioneer of this technology is Mercedes and they call it Keyless Go, they've had it 3-4 years. You don't need the key to start the car either, it recognizes the key and the engine is started with a button while the keys are still in your pocket. I think its the best feature to come out on a car in a long time, I love it. I hate having to fumble for the keys to get back into my Lexus when I've been driving the Prius.
  10. I believe its a different platform entirely. The JDM version of the GS is definately the Aristo, there's no doubt about that. The Carina/Avensis is a much smaller and cheaper car than the GS/Aristo.
  11. Be careful sharing tires with a Cadillac. Cadillacs and Lincolns aren't very dependent on the tires because they have a lot of sound deadening to block tire noise. Lexus don't, Lexus are designed to be quiet WITHOUT sound deadening, but that means you've got to be careful with the tires you choose or they can ruin the ride. I wouldn't put PepBoys tires on a Lexus...
  12. If it does not say "Nakamichi" then its the standard audio system made by pioneer.
  13. Yeah the RL has lots of features no question, but like Cadillac learned gizmos don't make luxury cars. You've got to have the look and the engineering there first. The RL looks like an Accord, I've not been with one person that would classify it as a luxury car when looking at it, thats a serious problem for Acura. The no key entry is cool, but the LS has that, the new Avalon is going to have that, the Prius has that, the new GS is going to have that...
  14. I know that our Admin, Matthew_McNally has a bluetooth kit wired into his GS430 with Levinson, might want to shoot him a PM but its also featured in his garage. I have a bluetooth phone and cheaped out (well not cheap, it was $150) and bought a SuperTooth portable handsfree that clips onto the drivers visor with answer/hangup buttons etc. It obviously doesn't mute the radio but it works really well. Now that I own the car I might look into a more hardwired solution, but this thing works pretty well. Check ebay, they're all over ebay.
  15. Interesting...why is that?
  16. lilime- Have you tried replacing the runflats?
  17. They're not going to take email seriously, I would call.
  18. Thanks :D
  19. No problem!
  20. I didn't create anything lol, this is how the guy at the audio place set it, I haven't touched it. Audios not my thing and I literally know nothing about it. Alan- I mistly listen to softer rock and country (my music taste are really weird for my age, like most other things about me lol) and I think thats where the ML lacks even behind the base pioneer stereo. Its designed for classical and instrumental music as the Nakamichi was before it, set this way when I primarily listen to sounds fuller and better. Also have to remember that it was set to compensate for the satellite radio through an FM modulator which tends to be flat, CDs and FM sound great with these settings too though. Werd! LOL
  21. At least a year, but maybe a couple. I want to wait until we have a better idea what the 07 LS is going to look like before I buy one because I'd like to keep it for a really long time, if the 07 looks like its going to have good style and lots of new features I'll want to wait for a mid-model 07 or maybe an 08. If I don't like it I'll buy one of the last 06s on the lot and drive that ;) Plus within a couple years I should be in a better position to afford one lol. They don't look that expensive on paper, but the payments on them are always a mortgage payment. I stopped by my Lexus dealer yesterday before I mailed the check to look into some options for a 430, found a color I really like (Cypress Pearl) and drove one (first one I've driven with the 18" wheels) and I ran some numbers. If I bought my car and waited 6 months, then traded it and put that money down on an LS, the payments would still be $800. A lease with mileage I wouldn't be over on, $1150. standard payments with nothing down $1300. Thats with a $6,000 discount on a Modern Luxury car (63k sticker) to say nothing for a CL or UL! Its a very expensive car, makes much more sense to drive mine for a few more years. My clients will just have to be a little cramped lol
  22. Biy if I had a dollar for every time I've heard that :cries: B)
