Then they should be moved back the appropriate distance. Where is your source that Eric Holder has said they should be allowed to be within the boundary imposed around a poling place? I've been involved in elections before, my business partner ran for local office a couple years ago and I handed out info at polling places for him. He's very involved politically, he's a precinct chair, etc. Its more complicated than that. People representing people on the ballot cannot be within a certain number of feet of the polling place, but that doesn't cover protesters. If they are just protesting, and not campaigning for a specific candidate I don't know that the rules apply... I would say that brandishing a weapon is certainly grounds for them to be arrested... Anyways...I don't see Eric Holder stating that they should be allowed to be inside the 100ft boundary of the polling place, but they certainly have a right to be there and to protest.

Check it out guys: I really like the car...

Because we have laws in this country. We have the ability to move about freely without having to prove anything to anybody. Law enforcement agents have to have PROBABLE CAUSE to search us, or demand identification from us. Thats the LAW. Those protections are afforded us in the Constitution. You want to change that, and I don't...who is the conservative now? How do they know? Because of the way someone looks or the way they talk? Thats racial profiling and its illegal. People have rights lenore, even Hispanic people. Sorry. An Air Force Base is a secure facility, a city street is not. Entirely different thing. I would not have the right to walk the streets of an Air Force Base unescorted. EVERYONE has the right to walk on a street. I have no problem with asking EVERYBODY to prove citizenship when registering to vote. Oh yeah...I can't remember the last time I walked into a polling place without the Black Panthers intimidating me! Get real. Groups have a right to protest and to gather, whether you agree with what they have to say or not. Thats in the constitution too. You want to change that and I don't...again...who is the conservative? HAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh my God, listen to yourself! You're upset because you can't board a plane without a patt down but you want Hispanics to submit to random illegal searches when walking down the street to prove they are citizens with no probable cause! HILARIOUS! Easy for an upper middle class white man to say. But I thought they were wonderful because they ask you for ID? Good lord...

If the police are asking a disproportionate amount of people of one racial background for their drivers license, thats racial profiling and its illegal. Anyways, they have to have PROBABLE CAUSE to ask me for my drivers license. If I am walking down the street and a police officer asks me for my drivers license and he cannot give me a reasonable cause, I don't have to give it to him. Hell, if I'm driving a car and I get stopped and there is no PROBABLE CAUSE...I can just leave...I don't have to give him anything. Thats why they tell you why they stopped you before they ask for your license and registration. You're suggesting that hispanic americans be required to provide their proof of citizenship at any time with no PROBABLE CAUSE. Thats illegal, and unconstitutional. The same argument can be applied to any of the "civil liberties" that you decry the loss of. This is no different, you're expecting an entire race of people to give up the right to walk around their country as free people and to submit to random, racially targeted checkpoints to determine their citizenship. If you do that...EVERYBODY must carry proof of citizenship at all times and be required to present it at all times, even when you have committed no crime and have been accused of no crime, and the officer has no PROBABLE CAUSE. Good luck getting that passed. Yep. So now I, the "progressive" am making law enforcement impossible because I want to protect our civil liberties? You really don't see the hypocrisy in that? Its also impossible for you (or me), as presumably a white person, to know what its like to walk down the street, or walk into a store and be automatically assumed to be a threat and be up to some illegal activity. You don't know what its like to be unable to hail a cab. What you are suggesting is making it LEGAL and COMPULSORY for law enforcement to target people of a certain race as potential and suspected criminals at all times! That is WRONG. That is WAY more un-American than providing socialized healthcare. Somehow that would "destroy the fabric of American life" but having police targeting hispanics who have committed no crime and demanding "papers" under the threat of arrest with no probable cause is fine?!?! Jesus Christ, you're crazy. Don't put words in my mouth. I'm all for protecting the border, but I am not for giving law enforcement the right to demand "papers" from any hispanic person they see at any time under the threat of deportation with no probably cause when the vast majority of those people will be American citizens. Thats a little too "!Removed!" for me, sorry. No its not, my bathroom is my property. The analogy would be if I had to prove to the police I owned my bathroom any time I wanted to use it. Sure, the meth user or the biker guy won't be able to get in there...but my enjoyment of MY bathroom and my rights to use is would be severely diminished. LOL, yes. In one line you decry the loss of civil liberties, the loss of which was for the benefit of security. Then you denounce me for being against stripping of civil liberties in the name of security. Then go live there. Thats what you tell people who want healthcare like in other countries. In the US we have rule of law, and sometimes that law allows people who commit crime to fall through the cracks. Thats why a jury has to prove beyond a REASONABLE DOUBT someone is guilty of a crime. Because even if there is SOME SHRED of doubt that they committed the crime, its better that they go free than we risk an innocent person being incarcerated for a crime. LOL, this country has no language, and its culture is a melting pot of different cultures BECAUSE it is a nation of immigrants. Even when people come here legally, they bring their culture and language with them which becomes a part of our culture. Should we require people to behave and speak only like white people when they're here? Practice their culture behind closed doors? Why don't you go buy a hood, a cross, some gasoline and just own it? I'm all for immigration reform and securing the border, but harassing American citizens of one certain race, or any race on the street and asking them to prove their citizenship at any time, under threat of arrest, without reasonable cause is not the answer. As long as its asked of everyone I don't have a problem with that. It should be required when one registers to vote in the first place.

How is asking people of Hispanic decent who are American citizens submit to constant and groundless harassment, detention and the humiliation of having to present papers to prove their citizenship whenever and wherever they are asked to any different than any other civil liberty we've been asked to give up in the name of security? Difference is...it doesn't effect YOU. That's the definition of racism my friend. You're such an unbelievable hypocrite.

Has it? Cite your source. Actually I think the American auto industry is doing fabulously. Where has GM been in negotiations to move their manufacturing to China? Cite a source. They're exploring manufacturing in China FOR THE CHINESE MARKET. Chrysler is doing the same thing. Did you miss the HUGE story last week when the first private US spacecraft took off and docked with the international space station? This is a local thing and has absolutely nothing to do with the federal government. Oh yeah...no Republicans guilty of that. You can't in one line decry the loss of civil liberties yet then complain about standing up to Arizona's blatantly racist and unconstitutional profiling law and be taken seriously. Which of course all was incurred during the last 3.5 years right? So has the Obama administration done nothing, or all the horrible things you accuse them of doing? Which is it?

Lexus told you they would only replace it at their cost and it's still under warranty? That doesn't make any sense...I can see that if it was out of warranty, but it should be fully covered under warranty.
-
The iPhone is fully compatible with the new Lexus Bluetooth systems, don't know about the older ones. I do know thaton the older systems as long as the phoneook is there it can be used by any phone.
-
Extended warranties Are basically just insurance against repairs. The Lexus is very reliable, I don't know if I would spring for one.

Key Hole Cover Missing...where Can I Buy One?
SW03ES replied to babyduke's topic in 07 - 12 Lexus ES350
Its not the key, its the trim on the car's door handle itself. On the newer cars the keyhole on the drivers side has a removable cover over it. -
What Are You Guys Paying For An Oil/filter Change?
SW03ES replied to 420benz's topic in 07 - 12 Lexus ES350
Right...who cares about Mobil's warranty when you've voided the manufacturer's warranty? If you think Mobil is going to pony up $12,000 for a new Lexus engine without a lawsuit involved you're kidding yourself. -
What Are You Guys Paying For An Oil/filter Change?
SW03ES replied to 420benz's topic in 07 - 12 Lexus ES350
That doesn't change the fact that Lexus' position is that the oil change interval should NOT be extended when using synthetic oil. Any synthetic oil. What is Mobil 1's guarantee? Will they replace a $12,000 Lexus engine? If you have sludge (which is incredibly unlikely) and you have only changed the oil every 15k, Lexus WILL NOT honor the warranty. Thats 100% certainty. -
Congrats! Welcome to the club! If you do decide to buy it out at the end, you don't have to take the car to the dealer, but you do have to go through the dealer. They won't do any of the legwork with you over the phone, the dealer's business manager has to be involved. They will charge you for every mile you are over, no exceptions. If you are buying or leasing another car from them you can negotiate who pays the penalty with the salespeople selling you the new car, but LFS will charge you.

Haha! I don't see them ever offering a diesel on the LS. They do offer a diesel on the IS overseas but not in the US. Toyota is pretty married to hybrid technology. -

Glad you speak spanish Jim... -
The lease on my 2010 ES is up in 14 months, I came home today and found a nice envelope from my dealer. Its an offer to "exchange" my 2010 for a 2012 (which is exactly the same car) for only $60 a month more than my current lease payment. Upon reading the fine print...its a 12k mile a year lease when mine is 18k. So...$6k less a year, and $60 a month more...for exactly the same car...sounds like a deal too good to pass up to me! You'd think it would have been an offer on the GS or something...
-
I'll look at mine today and see if its on all the time, maybe it is...
-
I don't blame you. The MDX is a really nice vehicle. Don't be a stranger! Just because you don't have a Lexus anymore doesn't mean you have to leave!
-
Was there a passenger in the vehicle? It will note that the airbag is "ON" when there's a passenger in the vehicle.

AOL...is that like those "record" things I've heard so much about? ;) As for the handling, it all depends on what you want to spend...

Weird... I got the feeling that the whole Allstate/Safelite relationship was still getting the kinks worked out.
