Hello, I purchased my LS460 in Jan 09. It has only 11,000 miles on it and is basically in brand new condition. I have a friend who sells BMWs and he has offered to "trade in" my lease for a 7 series. He said I need to find out the payoff of my lease (I called TMCC and it's $51,000). Then he would just pay off the lease and give us $3000 additional money toward the lease of a 2010 7 series Beemer. I called TMCC and they said that is fine and there are no early termination penalties or additional expenses. This seems too good to be true so I am asking for advice here. It seems that the Blue Book is slightly above my payoff quote so this would be a good deal for me. We live in CA and I guess there are no additional taxes to pay either? I would appreciate any and all advice about terminating the lease early. Please though don't give me advice about Lexus vs BMW. I am interested in making the trade for a personal reason so I don't want to debate the merits of each. Thanks so much in advance, Katherine

I am trying to understand how these automatic windshield wipers work on my new 2009 LS460. It doesn't rain much here in San Diego and when it does, it is more of a fine mist rather than outright downpour. Where and how do I set my windshield wipers to wipe down the myst? I don't think the sensor is picking up the rain since it's so fine. Is there a way to set a low set speed like the "old fashioned way" before all the fancy sensors came on the market? I want a steady wipedown every few seconds. When I click down one, nothing happens. If I click down one more, I get too fast of a wiper speed. Is there an inbetween?? Thanks! Katherine

Could you help? I have searched and searched and find nothing about a secret volume adjustment. I am having a lot of problems with people hearing me with my bluetooth. I called the dealer and they told me to repair my phone (blackberry 8830), which helped a tiny bit but not enough. UGH. I need the phone to be functional in my car! Thanks! Katherine Your dealer should be able to increase the bluetooth and/or microphone volume. If not, go to another dealer. Thank you! I went today to get my paint protection applied and asked them to pump up the volume. They did it right there in front of me. He said there are settings 1 - 5. It was set to 1 originally. He set it to 2 and said that much higher will cause an echo. He said to come on back if it is not enough but that it should "make a big difference." I'll let everyone know how it goes. By the way, the service guys were UNBELIEVABLY nice and courteous today. They admired my Truffle Mica finish (I guess it is a rare color) and were very accomodating when I said I could not come back to pick up the car (they actually brought the car back to my house tonight, almost 20 miles south of the dealership!). They just handed me the key, said thank you, and took off with the rental. I am sooo tempted to write a nice letter of thanks to the Carlsbad Lexus dealership. They bowled me over with their customer service. :) Katherine

Are you sure. There is a input inide the console to run players like you Ipod thru the ML system. I would think you could rip off of that. Is this still true that the only way to transfer songs is to burn CDS?? It's 2 years later and I am dying to put my songs on via ipod or something faster than burning songs from CDs. Hello. Is there a way to adjust the volume of the bluetooth phone so OTHERS can hear me?? Everyone tells me they can barely hear what I am saying. I hear them just fine (and I see the volume adjust on the screen). Or is there a problem with my microphone? I have an 09 LS460 and I paired it with a BB8830. Thanks! Katherine

Correction, the listed base price (MSRP) for the 2009 LS460 is $63,675.00 In addition to the "holdback," there are unit quota incentives that can amount to significant dollars to the selling dealer at the end of a given period (month, quarter, etc.). If the dealer is selling below invoice, the above motive may be in play and if he makes his quota and adds back the amount attributed to the sale of said vehicle, he will most likely still be in the black or better. Furthermore, many dealers add on fees (i.e. dealer fees, etc.) that compensate for a portion of any perceived discount. Therefore, when computing the value of the "deal," it's the bottom line that counts ... what you actually pay out of pocket when it comes time to sign the check or whatever financial vehicle you chose to employ. To be sure, it is the rare dealer who will sell at a loss, even in this market, unless it is part of a market exit strategy (i.e. going out of business, clearing out their floor plan, etc.) I just leased a 2009 LS460 with Nav and ML stereo plus the Comfort plus package for $66k in San Diego. MSRP was around $73,000. I think I could have done a bit better but I had a trade in so I had to purchase locally. I am VERY pleased with the car by the way. Absolutely no wind noise, amazing stereo and the nav is much improved from my GS300 (2001)! Katherine

Hi there, I have a new LS460 with the ML stereo (2 days old). The first thing I noticed when I turned on the radio was that the sound quality is much worse with XM than the radio or CDs. I have not tried to burn music to the HDD yet. I am not sure why this is but I definitely hear a huge difference with the satellite radio and I am a bit disappointed. By far the best sound comes from my CDs, second is FM and worst is XM. Katherine
