A few months back i remember seeing that lame Mark Wallberg movie called "four brothers". Anyway if anyone has seen this movie you might notice that one of the hired killers in the movie, that the brothers get into a car chase with is wearing a had with what looks like a first gen GS. Its just a plain colored baseball hat with a print of what looks like a GS 300 on the front but i could not tell for sure. Can anyone confirm this?.. I just thought it was interesting that a hat would honour our car.

Dont sweat it man. I got the pdf files off that site myself earlier. Thanks anyway though. I looked at the instuctions for repalcing the head gasket and it was f_ing rediculous. I just opted to bite the bullet and get another engine(a JDM with 35K on it) It cost me $2800!!! oh well now i have an engine with 130,000 less miles on it.

Anyone know where i can find a reliable used JDM 2JZ-GE engine for my 93 GS? I have heard horror stories of JDM engines that have died after a week or so with no kind of warranty... Any help would be appriciated.

I found out it would be about $1700 to have the head gasket replaced. It would be about $2250 to get a JDM engine with about 40,000 miles on it. That seems like the way to go. Or.... what about a 2JZ-GTE engine? it costs more but would that fit?? Is it worth the hassle?

Yeah, rather than spending the $100 on the paper manual i paid $10 for a one day subscription to the toyota techical information system website. I got the proper diagrams and detailed instructions for replacing the head gasket. It looks like a nightmare.... even for someone that know how to work on a cars(not me). There are so many steps its rediculous. Unfortunatly i dont think i can talk anyone into helping me with this one. :cries:

I would like to do it myself but im not the most competent "do it yourselfer" out there. With the help of some friends and some detailed instructions i may be able to but i would need some advice...

I found out that my engine was acting up because i blew a head gasket. =( =( =( The guy at the shop quoted me $1,700 - $2,000. Has anyone had this serviced? Is this a fair price for the repair?? Thanks

So i took a look under the engine cover to see the first spark plug at the front of the engine. I pulled out the wire that sits on top of the spark plug and the seal was cracked and broken, there was f--king oil in there. Im not sure if this is the reason for my engine's poor performance, and any other suggestions on what i could check would be appriciated, but im taking care of it. I dont want to have to deal with taking off the whole intake manifold to check the rest of the spark plugs so i'm just going to take it in to the shop to get all the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor all replaced. I was thinking of getting the Denso or NGK iridaums for the plugs. Any ideas on what spark plug wires to get??? By the way TurboGS300 and TWINTURBO619 thanks for your help, your guyz cars are pimpin. I took my 93' GS 160,000k for a drive to somewhere and back in the sweltering heat the other day (about an hour each way). A few hours after i got back i started my car again and it was idling really roughly. I checked the dipsitck and it said i had no oil whatsoever. The dipstick i believe has been unreliable in the past. I put two quarts in, checked it again, and the oil was past the full line. I know it didnt go from empty to full on two quarts of oil... And not once did the oil pressure light come on. I have been driving the car after giving it oil and it still idles rough and engine cuts out a little on inclines. Is this an oil related problem??? Or possibly a bad spark plug? (i was thinking of getting some Denso Iridiums and some new wires). Theres probally a few other things it could be. Any ideas guys??, it would be much appriciated.

:whistles: I went 133 in my 90' Acura Legend Coupe with hella bald tires, that was such a stupid idea. I have a 93 GS 300 now with 20" rims. I've never really tried to drive it fast. Is it a bad idea with the 20s??? I dont want to bend them

I bought a 93 Lexus GS with about 150,000 miles on it from someone who didn't have any service records for it. I have had the car for about 6 months now and still have not serviced it with the exception of an oil change. A mechanic told me it needed a tranny, brake, and power steering fluid flush, A complete tune up, Upper and lower radiator hoses, Drive belt, and Possibly a timing belt. My question is this: should i let this mechanic use his own fluids in my car or should i supply him with authentic toyota products to put in?? And also i have no idea when the timing belt was last replaced, should i go replace it anyway?
