  1. It should grow on you more in time. Enjoy Alexander! B) Post some pics if you can. ;)
  2. Based on what you have mentioned, I have one question.......why did you decide to buy the car to begin with?
  3. All that should be in the manual that will come with your new car. Make a big cup of coffee and have a good read. You will be surprised at the number of questions that get posted here that are answered simply in the owners manual or supplemental owners manual. Enjoy the new ride and this site. steviej Agreed steviej! Get to know your new car Craig......read the owners manual & then read it again. Be easy on her for about the first thousand miles though. ;) Enjoy & post pics when you can.
  4. Those Pirelli look like a fairly new tire on the market.....no experence with them either I am afraid so I will say that the choices I mentioned before still stand. It's not 'vital' that you get a winter tire with a V speed rating either to be honest......if your driving on icy & snowy roads, will one really be even close to top speed? or 'peeling' around hairpin corners? ;)
  5. Agreed. B)
  6. You should get much more than 200,000 miles out of that engine & tranny if it was maintained properly......it it has been, I wouldn't touch it. ;)
  7. Get a quality 'metalizied' tint that is scratch resistant....2 of the most popular are 3M & Llumar (I have the Llumar myself on my ES...I will post link with pic). B) I got the 20% (medium shade) all around (except the windshield of course). I found the 35% too light & the 5% (limo tint) much too dark for visibility at night. Here is the link... http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=20981
  8. I think the bushings are a good possibility. ;)
  9. I just saw the Imperial concept in my Feb edition of Motortend.....not impressed to be honest. But the concept Challenger.......now that is a nice looking machine! B)
  10. Be careful Army as you rack up the miles on the Falken's........they are getting a little weak in the snow traction department after about 22,000 miles on my wife's leased Focus (I'm driving it until we have to take it back in March......Lexus is in my underground). They are only rated in that size (205 50 16) for 30,000 miles anyways. B)
  11. Even if they are the same treadlife....we still are comparing a summer tire to an all season. ;)
  12. A very rare 5 speed.....nice job! Enjoy. B)
  13. Nice looking ride! B)
  14. Have a look in the 'Club Events & Meeting forums' on this site. B)
  15. There's a very good chance we will see a GS 350, but I agree with sw.....I doubt anything will change for the GS 430. ;)
  16. Very cool stuff (any prices at all?). The Japanese market always seems to have much cooler stuff than our N.A. market. :(
  17. http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/cars/ma...05/overview.htm With gas prices still high, readers have asked us to weigh in on products that promise better fuel economy. We tested three: Fuel Genie, Platinum Gas Saver, and Tornado. Our advice: Don't waste your money. They don’t work. This isn't news. We've tested such devices over the years and have not found any that improve fuel economy. The Environmental Protection Agency, whose Web site lists scores of devices that the agency has tested in the past 30 years, including the Platinum Gas Saver, has had similar results. The Fuel Genie, $90, which promises more power and better gas mileage, is a plastic device with curved blades that fits inside the air-intake hose. The airflow is supposed to allow for better performance. But in our tests with a 2004 Toyota Tundra and a 2004 Dodge Stratus, we saw no significant improvement in performance or fuel economy. The Tornado, $70, is a similar device made of stainless steel. It is the same product we tested for a July 1999 report, when we said it didn't improve power or gas mileages in two test vehicles. The Platinum Gas Saver, $119, includes tubing and a plastic reservoir containing liquid. It is the same device we tested for our report in February 2001. You connect it to a vacuum line leading to the intake manifold. The manufacturer says that microscopic platinum particles from the liquid are sucked through the line, helping your car burn gas more efficiently and cleanly. In our previous tests, there were no changes in fuel economy after we installed the device in two test vehicles. The bottom line: The best way to get the most from a tank of gas is to follow the vehicle manufacturer's service schedule. Well said & I agree. These things are a scam. B)
  18. don't put any addedives in the engine, just use a very high quality oil & filter. These miracles in a bottle are a huge waste of money & do more harm than good. ;)
  19. Many airport limo's here are Town Cars.....with over 600,000 miles! (1,000,000 kms) & still going strong on the 4.6L V8. SO I agree they are a very durable engine. ;)
  20. Good for your Mom Army! B) I think that was a very smart move......she will be very happy with her purchase I'm sure. B)
  21. I think if you take the car to the Lexus dealer & there is a major tranny problem, they will ask to see the service records of tranny flushes.......if you have none (any idea where the car was serviced before you got it?) I'm not sure they will be reasonabe for any repairs.
  22. Thanks Toys! Much appreciated.
  23. A Very Merry Christmas to everyone! B)
  24. Just to clairify, not sure if it's the same in the U.S. but in Canada, the 325xi 'Touring' is the all wheel drive wagon. I think next year Lexus will offer the 6 speed manual if you can be patient. ;)
  25. Keep us posted & let us know if you make any headway. B)
