  1. Welcome chillin! B) Where abouts in the Toronto area are you located? Also you check your PM's.....I've sent you a message.
  2. I finally received the complete & detailed service/maintenance records for my 2005 ES in the mail yesterday....one of the items was the previous owner had to replace the windshield about halfway through his lease. He installed an OE windshield according to the work order (it has 'Lexus' stamped in the glass on the bottom drivers side near the VIN number that matches the rest of the glass on the car). It appears that he paid out of pocket (as opposed to going through insurance.....you will get dinged on some insurance policys come renewal time here in Ontario). Total parts & labour was $646.17. It makes me feel good that the previous owner replaced it with an OE windshield......and based on the rest of the service history, my new ride was extremely well cared for. B)
  3. What is the mileage on your ES Adnan?
  4. Pics please? B)
  5. Nice find Alan. :)
  6. I too have to agree with sticking with OEM glass. The windshield is part of the body structure & it's important the correct part(s) are used & installed professionally. PPG (Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company) & LOF (which is now Pilkington from what I can find) are two of the largest glass makers for the auto industry that I know of (and both of good quality...although PPG would be my first choice). I also understand that some automakers actually make their own glass now too....but not sure what brands specifically. I wonder if they used a lower line model of windshield in an effort to save you some money. Ask them if they have something that's of better quality they can replace it with & ask them to use a bit of extra care when installing the rearview mirror this time. Might even want to get a price for the PPG one & just pay the difference. Good luck.
  7. Any mention of replacing those bulbs in the owners manual? Might want to also consider investing in a service repair manual too.
  8. Agreed. ;) When I got married, the wife & I drove down to Florida (Orlando, Key West & St. Pete's Beach) for our honeymoon (in my previous 2001 ES). Neither one of us complained about the comfort of the seats. I wouldn't be able to say that if we had to ride in my wife's Subaru Forester however lol. :whistles:
  9. According to Lexus, the ES 330 comes standard with a 'heavy duty' battery which sound's important & is just swell ....except there is no info anywhere on the battery (or the owners manual for that matter) to give specifics. Does anyone know what the CA & more importantly the CCA is for this OE battery?
  10. You would be correct about the 'chips' available on e-bay. Consider going to full synthetic fluids & a high flow air filter for starters. Specifically I would suggest an Amsoil Ea air filter. More info here... http://www.amsoil.com/StoreFront/eaa.aspx (you would need part # EAA205). IMO, these are better & less expensive than K & N's & the like. No need to re-oil either (so no risk to the MAF sensors) & just vacuum the filter once a year & reinstall. Which Yokohama tires are you considering? Are you sticking with all seasons or will you go summer & winter combo's?
  11. Just wanted to say welecome to the club! :) Someone will chime in on the code issues you are having. As for performance mods....what exactly are you looking to do? I would start with some new tires myself. B)
  12. I had it done on my 2001 ES for dirt cheap if I remember.....my 2005 however is in the tank AFAIK & never needs replacement.
  13. Mine's fantastic (just over 40k miles). I love the power lumbar feature too.....much more comfortable than my 2001 ES....and that was pretty comfortable. Took me some time to adjust the seat (and memory function) to just the way I like it though. ;) I noticed the new 2007+ ES is more comfortable too....but one would expect that anyways.
  14. Can't you see on the dash what gear your in?
  15. I'd do mine every 60k miles too. :) Is yours in tank or under the hood?
  16. Cool about the maintenance stuff dc....I too like to buy the parts/fluids & just pay for the labour. B) What exactly are you looking for in a replacement tire & in what size?
  17. Just wondering what benefit(s) if any for the TRD Rad cap over the stock one? There are some available on ebay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TRD-Radiato...sspagenameZWDVW
  18. Just curious why you decided to go with the Comfortreads over the Triple Treads?
  19. Congrats on your purchase! Post some pics when you get a chance. As for the tires.....if your not replacing the rears anytime soon.....they should be switched with the fronts (new tires on the back of the car, not the front.....this might sound strange, but that is the correct set up if there is a fair bit of difference in tread depths). What kind of tires are on the vehicle & are all 4 the same brand?
  20. I just got my second ES less than a week ago......as for what might replace this one down the road.....probably another ES......in like 5 - 6 years....pre-owned of course.
  21. If you can get it for under $2,000.....and it's a nice driver....go for it. B)
  22. Actually.....calling these guys 'media' is being too kind lol. ;) I'm not sure how many of the automakers actually banned them from letting their fleet of vehicles being test driven by these folks. They gave them a hell of a time to issue them 'press passes' at the recent Detroit auto show too.
  23. Let's see if this works... Go to www.ebay.com & type in 'Lexus Factory Separation Key Ring' I don't know why the darn link is not working.
