  1. Agreed, but it helps to know exactly what your looking for before your purchase, either online or at your local tire dealer. What vehicle are you looking to buy tires for? B)
  2. Not a bad choice at all. Best of luck. B)
  3. One of the best & most reliable cars in their segment. No they don't break a lot & they are (were until the IS) Lexus' entry level sedan. B) This post might be better in the ES forums? :whistles:
  4. Correct! :D ;)
  5. I always have left all the vehicles I have owned in overdrive......I have never just used 'drive' only.
  6. We need more specific info......what is the exact tire size, what is important to you in a tire? IE: do you want long mileage with a quiet ride?, all season or summer, excellent wet weather performance........perhaps snow? the more specific you can be, the better choices we can suggest. You are correct however......there are a lot better choices out therethan the Bridgestone's. B)
  7. The silver (or chrome?) ones do it for me. B)
  8. I use Valvoline synpower (dot 3 & 4 rated) personally.....has a very high boiling point & not too expensive. B)
  9. Because of a firewall at work, I am unable to check the site out ......I'll look when I get home! B)
  10. Keep us posted on your Toyo's! B) After about 14,000 miles with proper rotations, there is hardly much sign of wear. B)
  11. Lookin good 1995! B) I love that colour!! Same as my 01. :D
  12. I'm with monarch on this too. B)
  13. oh boy! :chairshot: That's why I asked the question, but not got the answer to yet........perhaps one should wait to find out the answer before assuming! :chairshot:
  14. Because of the climate I live in (fairly bad winters from December to March), I perfer FWD over RWD......however, if they ever make the LS an AWD.....I just might have to give that car a closer look.......of course one can always hope the same can be said about the next gen ES.......I doubt the Avalon will ever have AWD. B)
  15. I'd never thought I'd see the day!!! :whistles:
  16. - 2001 Lexus ES 300 - 2003 Ford Focus ZX5 (leased & will be replaced a year from now. Mazda 6 Sport Wagon & Toyota Highlander is on our short lists....pre-owned of course) B) ;)
  17. have you removed every panel and all the carpeting? theres less sound deadening material than you think. but anyway, this stuff just looks like cheap dynamat to me :shrugs: ← Intresting, in the "Lexus Story" book, they mention how they acheive such a quiet cabin & do mention 'extensive' use of sound deadening materials. :whistles: Imran, if your worried about rust down the road, let me know......I know one of the best guy's in the industry that does fantastic rust-proofing & undercoating......celeberties go to this guy he's so good! & he's located in Mississauga. B) ;)
  18. Do they have thew Michael & Vito Corleone edition models? lol Sorry dude, I couldn't resist that one! I haven't heard of them personally, but not bad looking. ;) B)
  19. I took a hit too when I traded my 01 SE (20th A.E.) Maxima on my 01 ES too nc.....I hear ya. If one buys the Avalon 2 - 3 years old mind you, the brunt of the depreciation will have already been eaten buy the previous owner. I personally will never purchase a brand new vehicle ever again......the Maxima was my first & last. B)
  20. The Avalon has a totally new generation automatic transmission which is suppose to eliminate those past years with both Toyota & Lexus tranny shifting issues. Time will tell mind you......but we never experenced that north of the border anyways since our emission regulations are different than in the U.S. which is one of the main reasons that causes the tranny complaints. B)
  21. What vehicle did you replace the RX with? Just courious, where was your RX made? B) Best of luck to you folks as well. ;)
  22. Rotations are important.....I do mine every 6,000 miles or twice a year. B)
  23. Do they have thew Michael & Vito Corleone edition models? lol Sorry dude, I couldn't resist that one! B) ;) I haven't heard of them personally, but not bad looking. :)
  24. You can't go wrong with a Lexus! B) Just make sure you get all service, maintenance & warranty records on the vehicle........make sure everything is up to date, especially the maintenance. Miles on the car dosen't mean anything, as long as the vehicle was maintained & driven properly......if it was abused badly, you will know instantly. Good Luck! B) In addition to the LS (considering the fuel prices going through the roof & seems like it will continue to do so), I would give serious consideration to the ES 300, or the GS 300. I'm personally a huge fan of a 6 cyl engine.......great for highway crusing, passing power, with a very good return on fuel economy in the city & highway & excellent longivity. I've personally never had the need for an 8 cyl vehicle & I am glad I choose the ES with the 3.0L V6. FWD helps up here in Canada, not to mention wet weather as well. ;)
  25. I think you might have some clearance issues with a set that huge. You might want to scale back to an 18" or at most 19" wheel.
