  1. I agree you shouldn't use any special chemicals when doing a 100% flush......a few qt's of the correct type of tranny fluid will need to be wasted in the process of the complete fluid change.......that's what helps clean the inside of the tranny, along with the fresh fluid. B)
  2. That might not be a bad idea for perhaps a decade old or more vehicle.......I think that's overkill bigtime on a car like Imran's 2005 ES 330 however. :whistles:
  3. The main thing on a new engine is not to drive for prolonged periods at a constant speed. The manual tells you all about that too. ← A very fair point bart. B) ;)
  4. Yes they are that bad & yes a different & much better tire makes worlds of difference not only in ride quality & quietness, but safety & confidence in driving the car. B) It will feel like you just replaced the entire suspension system. ;)
  5. Having seen several up close & sitting in them for roughly a half hour each, I would have to respectively disagree with that article. It's probably one of the best values out there for the money, but again, I wouldn't personally compare it or even bring it close to the LS 430. I mean all things being equal, you can practicly but 2 Avalons for the price of 1 LS. ;) B)
  6. Yes ;) ← Agreed! B) Now the question is, what tires are you going to put on the 17's? ;)
  7. I don't think one can honestly compare the new Avalon to the LS 430......there not even close to being in the same league or class of car. Both are georgous mind you but totally different animals. B)
  8. There is nothing wrong with moving from a V speed rated tire to an H speed, in fact, one might actually have a slightly softer ride (it's only one speed rating were talking about)......going down to a T speed however, I would not do. My Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on my 01 Maxima were actually W speed rated. B) But I did have to sacrifice ride harshness because of the stiffer sidewalls. B)
  9. The Hydroedge is a very good tire but not recommended for a vehicle like the LS simply because of the speed rating.....MXV4's are middle of the road & are pricy......much better choices out there. If you want a very long mileage premium all season tire with an H speed rating, check out the Goodyear Assurance Triple Treads. B) I'm just not 100% sure if they come in the size you need. ;) www.goodyearassurance.com
  10. I doubt the steering wheel will physically come off while your driving....... If that's the case & your on the highway, one has serious problems!!! :o
  11. I like the first one on the lst personally. B)
  12. If your car has the mark levinson sound system then you have an answer to your tire roar problem. Just turn the volume up higher and enjoy the great sounds of your favorite music. Which will be louder than the tire roar. ← Nah, all you need to do is get a good set of premium all season tires for that problem. ;) B)
  13. I would do a 100% tranny fluid change, along with cleaning the filter mesh screen & replacing the tranny pan gasket.......make sure you use the correct tranny fluid. For what it's worth, you can use Amsoil synthetic ATF which is compatable with both Dexron III & Toyota Type IV fluids. Good luck! B)
  14. 2000 - 2001 ES should be what your looking for! B) I personally like the idea of buying the last year issue of a generation model run. But that's just me. B)
  15. Agreed! B) :D Well said Steve!
  16. Sounds like a scam to me! :whistles: :chairshot: As you said, Lexus vehicles are so quiet to begin with & they use extensive sound deadening materials as it is........a product out of a bottle or jug will do nothing for this type of car, except drain our wallets. Don't even bother. B)
  17. 28 years old here & drive 2001 ES. B)
  18. As long as there were no oil leaks when dino oil was used, you should be fine mvcv. B)
  19. The only brand new car I have owned was a 2001 Nissan Maxima SE.....I changed the oil after 1,000 miles. Switched to synthetic at about 8,000. B) I currently use Amsoil ASL 5W30 in my ES.
  20. Glad you went with the Falkens Army! B) You will be very happy with your decision. ;)
  21. I would have stayed away from those tires personally due to reasons I mentioned earlier in this post. But if your happy with them great! Good Luck! B)
  22. VERY good tires but pricy (as most if not all Michelin tires are). I was very happy with mine on my previous 2001 Maxima. Just maintain them correctly with strict attention paid to rotating them on time & don't forget, they are 'directional' tires. Good Luck! ;)
  23. Talk with your local Amsoil distributor about prices. The guy I have sells it to me for wholesale & I pay cash. ;)
  24. Not a fan personally of the rear spoiler on a 92 - 01 ES.......just cheapens the car IMO. The 02+ ES looks sharp however. B)
  25. Welcome to the club! Very nice ride you found there! B) Enjoy! :D
