  1. once my sideskirts arrive, the whole car will be repainted ← very kewl- what color are you getting it painted?
  2. great advice!
  3. well - if you want to tune an es- i guees you would need a custom exhaust setup, as I believe there aren't any bolt on ones. there are for the IS and GS but not too sure about the ES. You can start by getting a K&N air filter, custom exhaust (borla?freeflow...) Platinum plugs, performance wires,um...strut tower brace, lowering springs /shocks/struts. you might as well go the handling route too. but honestly, one is better off doing this much work and spending this much money on a sports sedan. we own rolling sofas, and by no means are they intended to be "hopped up". I understand we all need to make statements or try to be different, but this is just the wrong car for them IMHO. the money you save one can get a sports car if you want! fast right out the gate!
  4. i heard some story that jiffy lube checks idiot light codes.my neighbor took his lexus to one jiffy lube, and they read it and reset it for him.
  5. I think it says Nakamichi on the face plate. I was planning on putting 215/50/17's on- and some people said it would not be a problem.you may want to refer to my thread- Solara Rims, 215/50-17 tires under tires/rims
  6. you might as well hear it from me- you need to do a search as this thread has been covered over and over again in the past.
  7. Damn, the thing is now hard. :chairshot: damn, looks like it bonded to the paint. unreal

  10. windshield was replaced, but these clowns let some of the black silicone? (goo) land on a part of the roof.there are like 2-3 little chunks that can't be removed after 3 washes. any ideas?
  11. i bet it's the gas. maybe it's got water in the tank.also- make sure the gas cap is securely screwed on. that tripped a light on my mitsubishi once.
  12. Unfortunately most aftermarket warranties offered by used car dealerships only cover engine & powertrain problems and not simple things like 02 sensors, EGR valves, etc which is probably where his problem lies. I think the dealership should look at it for free anyway. Although the car is 4 years+ old, it is still under the mileage allowance on the warranty. If you sweet talk them you may be able to get some warranty coverage on it. ← my friend had the same issue- jiffy lube ran diags on it and said he was using cheap gas- he emptied the tank and filled it with premium or something from mobil and the light went away. these engines are picky- and for a good reason., they last forever when taken care of. P.s.- the stealerships (some) are like that, they have your $, what do they care now? they don't
  13. 33 now- bought mine when I was 29. the jealous clowns simply wrote it off as a "camry" or as they put it- "what are you, an old man?". but little do they know, they're girlfriends downright loved riding in my car (they would always ask me if if I could drive them around). Why, I don't know, maybe because adults actually drive nicer better cars. I had an eclipse at the time.I started my own pc consulting company and I needed a sedan to drive my clients to lunch/dinner or office, and they always told me "we must be paying you too much". My lexus has been the best car I have ever owned and I will buy another but not from LEXUS OF FAIRFIELD>
  14. lexusk8 - who tinted your windows?
  15. PM me with more details about the mini!
  16. 1998- just turned 73 k
  17. nice- maybe it's Bluish Velvet Pearl
  18. maybe you're hi beams are on
  19. even though useless, I did ← no- people think that, but you need to establish history. right now it may not matter, but what if the windshield is next? or worse- The police in new york are infamous for not taking reports after car vandelisms occur. If one won't take the report go to the station and file one. you need to document such acts. You have to think of it this way- if someone could do that to your car, maybe they are inches away from doing that to a person.
  20. here's my story- I was pulling out of my drive way one day nose first(my street is one way) when a car backed up from the other direction and hit me-almost took off my bumper and damaged the hood of my acura. Her insurance took care of my repairs. good luck
  21. in english please! I would keep it if you love it. all the repairs from the past and future will allow the car to last well past 3-4 years. it's all about upkeep and making sure you use quality parts. besides, who knows your car better than you? If you get another car, depending on what it is, your insurance will likely be increased, no? :P
