  1. Come on.... Somebody knows this... I don't know... but why don't you go to Lexus Owners, register, and consult your manual? Furthermore, on request, they will send you a new manual at no cost. Here is the address: https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrive...icle-summary.do Good luck. I didn't know that they would send one for free... I have mine somewhere, I had taken into my house to read about something, and now i am in the middle of a move... I'm sure it will resurface, but thanks for the info...
  2. Nothing is indeed harder on the alternator than a completly drained battery... As a tip: if you are starting any vehicle after a looong period of time, you shouldn't just boost... you should charge the battery and then start.
  3. Hi, I replaced my battery over the weekend and, now my sunroof, has gone wonky. I've read in other posts that talk about having to reset the windows and sunroof if you ever disconnect/reconnect the battery, my windows are fine, and running them down and up and holding the button while doing this... I tried a similar approach on the sunroof, no success. Can someone please post the steps, or scan the page of the owner’s manual that shows how to do this. Thanks in advance...
  4. lol I've actually seen the first one now... best part IMO the baseball game scene, that was in deed very cool... [back on topic] SEE YA L8R VW, you had a good run... Should be a great finale, I figure Vette, Avey, and Cobra will make for a very interesting finish... My bets are still on the Avey boys... But it all depends on what they have to do next in regards to the challenge... if horsepower/handing give an advantage then Super Snake and Vette may have the edge... Intereseted to see how this goes...
  5. I can't say that I have personally... But I know whenever the public finds out about where they are filming it goes nut... recently they were filming a bit at a local high school David Thompson Secondary, and my nephew goes there, and apparantly the school was over run with public, trying to catch a glimpse and what not... lol I can't say that I am that much of a fan, my wife reading the books and she raves about how the book is better than the movie... I'll just wait for the DVDs B)
  6. I dunno man, I think those Avalanche guys have "the eye of the tiger" That one dude can drive!!! Maybe we shouldn't discount the VW bus just yet... HAHAHAH although you do have to hand it to them in getting this far... even been in an offroad challenge in that thing... :D
  7. Man the first challenge they were in they got killed too!!!! LOL It took them over 30 seconds longer than their closest competition... lol... You'd think that you would have some sort of driving skill if you were going on a show like Bullrun... and she kept say "all my racing was done in a straight line” lol
  8. Nice job indeed man... I've got a question my steering wheel leather appears to have some "dirt" (for lack of a better word), on it in some highly used areas... I've tried cleaning it with some regular leather cleaner, but it just seems to stay there or quickly come back. Its one of those minor things, that just bugs the $hit out of me... Short of doing what you did, is there a quicker easier approach I can try. I haven't tried the woolite solution... you mentioned... will that do the trick or should I be applying a clear coat of some kind... thanks in advance...
  9. It did for me, but only temporarily... Its most def not the blades... its not a sqeak as much as a sqeal.... I agree, its mechanical for sure.
  10. I have the Lexus RX330 version of the Personalized Settings in .PDF format. I could not attach it to this post because the file is larger then 100K. Let me know where you would like me to email it. Can I get a copy. Email: runningshao@hotmail.com Thanks! Please also send a copy to phillong@nwi.net. Thanks so much! Also Send a copy please to mchn@hotmail.com DITTO, please also send it to bainzey@gmail.com as well. Much appreciated!
  11. There is a guide on edmunds.com I've never done this(brake job), but I want to try. Brake job on an RX is a piece of cake... All you need is a socket set, and at least a 6 inch C clamp to depress the calliper... If you've done any barake job b4 you'll be pleasently surprised... Losts of room to work makes it easy peazy...
  12. I can't believe the Lexus chix havn't been put in a challenge that would be fun to see. And man, how about that VW bus on that dirt course that was too funny... I lil error by dart did the trick. Man I love to do some these challenges, they should set them up somewhere and allow public access at a fee... I bet there would be plenty of takers... Althought with out the nice purse at the end, why mess up ones ride... OK with rental cars :-)

  14. Lol... First of all as stated by a few others, most Lexus owners (or any other higher end vehicle) will likley not be putting anything that is not in good taste on their vehicle, perhaps I'll put my bike rack on there and take a pic for you. In regards to keeping an eye out and spending the effort to snap pix of random cars that have "stuff" on their backs, so you can win your bet... I'LL GET RIGHT ON THAT, for yah... LMAO
  15. I believe the break wear indicator is the small silver piece that needs to be removed from the previous pads and reused on the new ones. Perhaps the last time the pads were changed, it was not put back on. Thanks for the responses... This is my first pad change but I did purchase used with about 40k on it, so they were prbly done once before. Interesting thing is... when I changed the pads there was a small metal piece that was one the old pads but not on the new ones, I just amounted that to a slightly different pad, as I did not buy the new ones from Lexus direct. Perhaps that piece was incorrectly put on during the last change hence no indication. But out curiosity when this is working correctly is there an indicator light in the dash?
  16. On my way home yesterday, I started to here bit of a grinding noise, My front PADS! Luckily I was close to home and on my way was my parts supplier, where I was able to aquire the new ones. And about half an hour later I was all set with new pads, and luckily the same rotors. My question. I drive a 04 RX 330, are the RX's not equipped with a low pad warning indicator, or mine not working? This seems like a gimme on any Lexus vehicle of this age or newer.
  17. are you talking about a slight sqeek... Cuz I had that, and I just put some lube on the actual "mechanical rotator" (for lack of the correct tem) ath the base of the wiper arm, and it fixed it. It does sometimes return, so end up doing it every 8 mos or so...
  18. I realise it is illegal to have a DVD screen playing while one drives. I see why that is the case, from a safety perspective. I am wondering if there is anyway to override this, while the vehicle is in park. I often travel on a ferry with my family, over to Vancouver Island to visit the grandparents. In this 2 hour trip, it would be great if I would be able to do this... Am I SOL, or is there some option out there? Cheers
  19. My upcoming project is to replace my door speakers, as one has blown and the crackle is getting annoying enough to do something about it. I'm assuming that it is pretty straight forward, but if any one has gone through this process and can provide and insights, in regards to tips, or things to watch out for that'd be great. Cheers!
  20. Do you guys think that the Toyota IPOD INTERFACE KIT, would work with Lexus. It looks the same, but costs much cheeper. I don't really want to go through the process of buying and then returning. Any insight would be great. Toyota IPOD Interface Kit
  21. Hmm... don't like the tail lights either. In regards to the non touch screen navi... I have that in my X5, and the touchscreen in my RX, and I must say, having them both I prefer the touch screen, and so does my wife. She has trouble with the BMW knob while adding address info (I took me a bit to get proficient as well), for that reason if she knows she's going to need navi she always takes the RX.
