well i took the cover off the shifter, and the button to unlock the shifter wasnt working i saw where it pushed that white latch and just did it myself and bingo i can go ne where now thanks alot guys the info was greatly appreciated.

thanks for the info guys will look at it today. but i also found out the other nite i had a party at my house my asswhole friends spilled beer all on my console where the *BLEEP*in shifter is! im pretty sure that coulda *BLEEP*ed it up

ok is it attachted to the actual pedal and what color wire would it b i havent looked at it yet but sorry if its only one. thanks in advance.

so yesterday i was driving my car and it was runnin a ok just fine and then when i put it back into my garage and came back out later that day and tried to go somewhere it wouldnt shift the button on the shifter wouldnt go all the way in. i tried using the shiftlock release but it didnt work ne ideas? 94 ls400

check your maf for sure mine *BLEEP*ed up and my car sputtered really bad. just a thought.....

turns out my fuel pump wasnt working... pretty wierd it wasnt broke it was just unplugged.

still sittin at home with no ride..... i was wondering if any one knew wat 2 points on the car to pull an engine code. i know where im lookin, i just need to kno wat 2 points to touch so that i dont fry my electrical system cars a 94 ls400

Sorry for the long wait, have had a few computer problems aside from all that, my cars still *BLEEP*ed. i still have no clue wat the problem could be. my battery died and i hooked it up to my friends car and was able to crank the car. it still does the same thing. it just cranks and turns over but it doesnt start. it sounds like its gonna start but it just keeps cranking. that's why im thinkin the fuel could be problem. how would i go about testin the spark without takin the whole damn thing apart again?

no we didnt change it we checked the tension and it was on there fine, and the tensioner was fine so i was thinkin that it was the fuel pump. any idea on a price for a fuel pump or a recommendation of where to purchase one?

soo i finally got my car all taken apart turns out the belt isnt broken it spins fine. im thinkin i could have a fuel pump problem b/c i dont hear the low hummm when the car comes on... any ideas? TIA

Thanks i appreciate all the help on this forum and i planned on replacing the pump the plugs and wires also.

yes they have both been replaced in the past 4 months but i took the plastic cover off of the crankshaft pulley and turned over the car and the belt wasnt movin and my neighbor is a mechanic and he said its the timing belt very unhappy at this moment

o yea the car does crank over but it will not start its a 94 ls400 and its got about 109k miles so i imagine it needs a new timing belt

i got gas in the morning and around 6 pm it happened. i had my mom get her toyota and push it home but we got the this huge hill and we had to use the ol chevy wagon

thanks i thought the same exact problem coulda happened cuz i read that the 94 wont run when it breaks it has 108 almost 109 and im pretty sure its probably never been replaced thanks for your help.

well today i was drivin down the road and i turned into the neighborhood for the scenic route and my car just cut off outta no where. no loud noise or big bang. i knew it wasnt gas because i had put some in today. i was goin about 15 and the car just quit. it wont start up but i was able to get it back in my garage. wat happened???

this morning i noticed a loud squeak coming from my belt when i cut the car off i didnt hear it while it was running but only when i cut it off.

could always b like me and just cut the *BLEEP*er out and run duals

this is the car warming up when it senses the car is hot enough then it idles lower.

damn that sux well goodluck with it. i kinda ruined my car when i cut the cat off because its too loud to b a lexus but it is a lil bit faster off the line now. but it does more draw more attetion to the cops.

i have a 94 ls400 and it does the same thing but it doesnt leak so i dont worry about it

yea i would go with somethin you kno is gonna have clearance i have the 1st generation so it was easy to fit flo masters on them but it wasnt that big of a difference when i put mufflers on. it was only loud at a lower rpm, till i cut the cat off.

yea i did the glass with water on ur engine trick and i couldnt believe that *BLEEP* even at 6000 rpm didnt fall or move, i guess that's the great engineering put into these cars.

so the other day i went out to my car started it let it run till it warmed up and idled low like it sposed to then i try to cut on my heater or a/c and i hear this loud !Removed! rattling noise comin from under the hood. anybody have any idea wat it could be and how much it would cost? thanks

ive heard of removing the resonators but i wouldnt more than likely the check engine light will come on because that's where the O2 sensors are and i dont think the car will run without them.
