  1. I wonder if it allows phone dialing too? yes, that's the purpose of this procedure, to enable DVD watching without having to have the parking brake on
  2. thanks, Tried local parts stores 2 big stores, similar ATC minis, not the same..
  3. I am trying to find spare fuses for my RX400h Already blew the cig lighter accs fuse It's a very small 15 amp. It's not a ATC type american fuse. Besides going back to the dealer does anyone have any suggestions?
  4. Ouch, my dealer told me not to do it unless I had the problem and it annoyed me, because it cannot be undone. Hope it works out.
  5. The factory RES does not like DVD-R's. It does work with +r's and DVD RW+. Where are you putting the DVD, in the front changer? Tried Parking brake, nothing. There is no DVD logo, just the Mark Levinson logo, so I am afraid it is just regular stereo. Does that mean I can put in a DVD and at least get sound? Tried that with a concert DVD, still got the error message.
  6. It gets better, or and you get used to it. It also helps not to accelerate to hard, that helps too. I have 10,000 and hardly notice it anymore.
  7. Yes, you can display the map from the rear screen. you press the "map button" on the remote control. Yes you can watch the DVD in the front providing the emergency brake is on AND you are not moving. The DVD video is not bad at all. I have not seen a manual. There are supposed to be someone out there selling some adapter to change how things work, like circumventing the dvd lockout. I have heard they run $800+
  8. NO, not all all. Something not right there. 7500 miles here too.
  9. What State allows a write off? I got the federal under clean air vehicle, But State ?? I just got $2000 federal and $3736 state tax write-off...let's see that would make it cheaper than the RX330!
  10. Just did our taxes. In NY state the rx400h qualifies as as a "clean air vehicle" NOT an electric vehicle. Actual tax savings was ony a few hundred.
  11. I assume your serious, did you notice the 6" long "antenna" right rear roof. It can fold down, that's the GPS antenna. Really can't miss it.
  12. I traded in my 04 rx330 for the 06 400h, Best thing I ever did. I agree the CVT and the Hybrid are very interesting and economy will be up to the roads and driving habits. For me I drive to and from Manhattan every day. Mileage with the 330 was avg 15-17. With the 400h it averages between 21-26, but more power no hesitation, and cool looking wheels. You won't be sorry, just don't bank on the gas mileage, there are lots of factors that will determine what it really will be.
  13. Mounted mine above the steering wheel. Look at the Pict..
  14. In my rx330, when the rear camera activates in reverse, all you have to do is click on the "map" button or any other screen and it will get out of the camera. Try it. ← Yes you are correct, I tried this and can see that in reverse both front and rear motors are used. Thanks javascript:emoticon(' ') smilie
  15. Have you tried backing up at 20mph ? I can accelerate up to 25 mph foward on the batts, so they do have a lot of torque.
  16. I have been told there are no reverse gears in the RX400. They say reverse is accomplished through the electric motors. My question is are ALL the wheels drived in reverse? Does anyone know for sure, I can't see the display since when in reverse the camera appears on the screen.
  17. Traded my 04 RX330 for the RX400h, without hesitation, great move. The better mileage, CVT transmission, quieter, POWER when you need it. If you get the 330, you may never have the same thing to say my .02 Thanks for the response. I am debating whether to purchase a 330RX or 400h by comparing first cost, annual gas expense, maintenance, (which was the reason for my question which you answered) and estimated resale after 5years. As long as gasoline stays under $5.00 a gallon, for me the most economical will be the 330RX, which is probably what I will purchase. ← Drive both before you decide. The 400h is significant step up in performance to the 330. ← I did drive both at the showing they had at Dodger Stadium. I would be satisfied with either, but my wife loved the feel of the 400H. This is a dilema. Has anyone driven the FWD version of the 400H? I believe it will be a bit cheaper and a little more fuel efficient. ←
  18. Very well stated. I travel to and from Manhattan NY in slow stop and go traffic, am getting 24.5-25.5 MPG, My RX330 got 15-17 tops. I am satisfied with my purchase. As the article stated if you drive on the freeways and don't incur much traffic, it would not be the vehicle for you. AND you do have to drive differently. Just keep thinking, when my foot is off the accelerator the motor is OFF... :D
  19. After they installed my kit, I noticed what appeared to be dirt on the panle where my sticker is near drivers door. I cleaned most of it off. Now I am think they were data dots, if they were they looked terrible and I though they should be on the HID lights not the panel?
  20. My Dealer in NY has intsalled a anti theft HID kit. Also have noticed datadot stickers on the car. Has anyone else had this installed?
  21. I waited 3 months only to find the dealer screwed up and ordered a tow hitch instead of the RES package. I found one at another dealer in two days, got a better deal, but don't care for their service. So for service I go back to the original dealer.
  22. Love the 400h, you can bet Lexus will take care of whatever problems thay may have pronto. The Synergy drive system is a really remarakable, that's why other car MFRs would like to purchase it.
  23. Same basics, but I believe the motor/battery capacites are different. I have not heard of any rx400h's having a similar problem. In fact there have been very few reported problems with the 400's.
