  1. Maybe get the thong to go with the clear bra......really sexy car then ! :whistles:
  2. LOL!!! Yeah, good point DC,,,, The most effective intake I have found is a Turbonetics 60-1 hybrid turbo system witha Spearco intercooler. Persicion, Garrett, and HKS make descent ones also! LOL!!!
  3. Who told you to put a battery isolator kit on the car? I'm confused. Are you running 2 batteries? A battery isolator kit makes it so the alternator can charge both batteries seperately , and one low battery doesn't drain the other battery. So I guess if your running 2 batteries than you do need a battery isolator kit, but you never mentioned that. If your only running one battery, then what you need is a capacitor. Basically it charges up and stores extra reserves of power for quick and high power draws like a bass system. If your really pushing alot of watts, then you may need to go to a larger alternator, and also get a good sized capacitor.

  5. the Typhoon system by K&N works well. The JoeZ system modifies your stock set up to be able to pull more air in effectively, I don't really think the short ram air intakes are the way to go for the IS300. Everyone I know that has gone that route has cel's coming up alot. The SRT intake gets you the biggest gain, but it comes with a piggy back ECU chip that you tap into your stock ECU. If your planning on doing alot of performance mods like exhaust and header, cam gears and the more, then I wouldn't reccomend going with that one, as your gonna need a tunable FIC to bring it all together anyway. So you'll just be wasting money.
  6. Was it the same P0110 code?
  7. Saki....ricey!
  8. Compared to the stock stereo offered? Yes, the ML is better. Compared to aftermarket stereo options? No way. Aftermarket systems offer way more for way less.

  10. Ok. because the trim on the Lexus is like a rubberized plastic coating over harder abs plastic. So when I tried doing the heat up method on a practice piece of trim, I got it to soften up, but then it wouldn't re-harden right. Even after it cooled back down if you just touched it you would leave your finger print in it. So ask them if there was a trick to that also, or maybe I too over heated it slightly. I don't know.
  11. LOL!!!! NO!!! The Toyota Soarer is the same BODY MODEL as the SC300 here in the US. BUT, oversees, which is where they sell the Soarer, the Soarer came with the 1JZ sequential turbo setup. Here in the US, the SC300, which looks just like the Soarer, was only available with the non turbo 2JZGE motor. Are we all on the same page now??? Oversees-----Toyota Soarer------> 1JZ TT US------------Lexus SC300--------> 2JZGE NA Both cars look the same.

  14. well, I'm contemplating putting my car into some upcoming shows. So what other people think does matter some in that case. I think the car needs alot more CF, but fitment becomes an issue. I've seen a few and even if you get em perfect, just driving it around, the body flex moves them out of alignment. So, that's why I asked about the hood. I'm really on the fence. When I first put it on, I liked it. Now that it's been on awhile, I guess the thrill has worn off. So, even before I put the question on the boards, I was thinking of taking it off, like 55/45 off, and put the stock hood back on. I didn't know that I would see such a lop sided vote though. I figured it might be close. So far, no cf votes! HHmmm, interesting.

  16. The short ram air is more about getting more air to the intake manifold using a ram effect, and the cold air intake is more about getting colder air to the intake manifold, as colder air contains more oxygen. On paper both look like good ideas. the problem is that the shorter ram air usually has turbulance issues and can mess with the MAF.. And the CAI's are rarely true CAI's.But, you have to isolate the air inlet away from the heat of the motor, which usually means running air ducts to the front grill or side air intakes or something, And I generally see some divider thing they use that doesn't really help alot. So, usually the CAI's I see still pull air from the engine bay where it gets really hot. But the higher flow air filters they use still let you see an increase. Remember, air FLOW is really the key. Good air flow in and out of the motor is what creates hp and tq.
  17. Ok, well, actually, the most beautiful stretch of road has to be either Eagle Canyon Raceway or Jennings GP Raceway. Man I love those two tracks, In the spring, the sun is warm , the air is cool. the trees and the stands are a blurr as you wisk by at a 150+ mph, your heart jumps in your chest as you grap as much brake as you can to make the 52 degree turn rushing in your direction. I absolutely love walking down pit row at 5:30 in the morning. going from paddock to paddock, talking with friends and drinking some coffee. The sound of a few air tools, and the pings of wrenches hitting the ground. The smell of little propane stoves making breakfast's mixing with racing fuel and oil in the air as everyone is making every last preperation they can. And then after all the anticipations, and waiting, that first lap around the track, getting the engine warm, checking the brakes, making sure everything is good to go, as soon as you make that last mental check off, OH YEAH!!!
  18. You've tried that on the Lexus IS300 dash trim around the center control panel and radio? Or just on the Chrysler's.
  19. oh ok. i didn't realize that it was random people putting the information up. is there a website that you know of that says as a HARD fact that the sc300's came with a 2jz-ge that was NON turbo?? I don't know if this would help you but here's an article on the subject. It seems that the turbo version is a 2jz-gte, and only in a Supra. But that has been covered already! http://www.supraturbo.com/street_power_jan-feb%2098.htm The turbo version used in the Soarer, which is the SC300 here in the US used the 1JZ which had twin sequential turbos.
