  2. Ok, so to avoid the next ninja uprising and the unneccassary blood shed of thousands, I'll pull up the screen and shoot some pics of it, and send em to ya via classified email. They'll be on a timer though and will self destruct in 30 seconds. So get a good look and stay focused. LOL!!!!!

Other than it starts the car again.LOL!!! Man, I don't know, that's awful personal. I think I need to see a ring first. LMAO!!!!

  6. LOL!!! Yes sir!!! Actually, I haven't decided if I'm replacing the front and rear bumpers or just getting lip extensions or a lip kit. So until I know that for sure, there is no sense in spending money and time on a mod that might not matter anyway..( Ahh, the wisdom of experience as for thought and planning prevails....) You know, that was the first wierd thing I noticed about the AVIC. It is strange that you can't turn it off, but looking back, I don't think I have driven any car without the radio on at some varying volume level, ( usually on the obnoxious side.) and you can easily turn the volume all the way down and just select screen off. But that is a hassle. One thing I do really like about the D3 over the Z2 and some of the others is that there is rotator knob for the volume as opposed to the button control. For some reason I really don't like button volume controls. One touch up is a little to loud, one touch down is a little to soft. And you have to hold it down and wait for the volume to go up to where you want and if you have to turn it down in a hurry, you have to agian hit the button and wait for the volume to reduce.

  12. Well, the reason higher performance tires are the answer is because the softer compound used in them provide a much quiter ride. Comfort comes from the amount of sidewall and sidewall construction. So somewhere along the line you have to make trade-offs. I have run Dunlops, Goodyears, Michelins, Bridgestones, Generals, Kuhomos, and a bunch of others. For the 245/40/18, the best tire is hands down the Michelin Pilot's or the Bridgestone Pole Positions. You say you don't care about speed and performance, but trust me, you do. You just don't know it yet. The car just responds soooo much better to steering input, and after the first 500 miles the tires get very quiet. You won't be unhappy with these. Now, understand, your not going to get 50,000 miles on these tires. But that again is the trade off you have to make.
  13. I have been working on my car for quite awhile now. Right now it's putting down around 420 rwhp, and 400 ft lbs.tq. So I had a professional photographer shoot a couple pics and thought I might share a few with you. I hope you enjoy.
  14. Ok, well I just had some professional pictures taken of my ride, so I thought I would share the ones I liked the most. Hope you enjoy:
  15. You need to talk to Jibby on this site. He can and will answer all your questions. He's been there done that, and knows the SC 400 inside and out.
  16. uuhhh, 300 degrees is way over kill. try like 200-225 for about the same ten minutes. It's alot safer for the rest of the housing, and you can still use your hands to open it up easier. Also, if you look closely at the construction of the headlight, you will see it is not a sealed design anyway. On the back where it's stamped Toyota, that is a tab that opens and reveals a foam covered vent. There is another vent with a black rubber hose on the back side near the narrow part of the headlight as well. So, resealing the headlight wouldn't really help anyway. Actually what I have found over time is that water gets pulled in thru the vent holes in the front bumper and is blown on the headlight housing from underneath and behind the bumper. So if you put a peice of plastic under the headlight behind the bumper, it should stop the water from having access to the headlight. Also, make sure the cap on the back is on tight.

  20. If you installed a header, you don't have the 3 way catalysts on bank 1 and 2 anymore. As those were part of header you replaced. In the new header, they would have drilled and welded the new bongs for the 02 sensors. After that, you usually end up having to swap those to sims as the new temp and flow readings will be outside the parameters set in the ECU. You do still have the catalytic converter on the down pipe, as most exhaust systems are cat back from there. So the sensor after that cat should still be ok to leave. Your running rich is a compenstion. Once you fix the cel's, it should get better. You may need to do a full ECU reset though. But you can determine that later.

  22. did you check the connections and the wire conditions? I was thinking you had a short somewhere in the wiring, not the sensor itself, or a bad connector plug.

I agree,,, the "cult" the car has made is definately undeserving, but to each their own. In any case, the PT cruiser is still cabable of the speed limit in the right hand lane...
