If no codes are coming up that seems to eliminate an electrical problem so I would head towards fueling problems check fuel pressure/fuel pump,has the fuel filter been replaced? or possibly a vacuum leak on the inlet manifold. I seem to remember some other threads relating to your problem and I will try and find them. Steve

Mmm that's interesting I don't think there is a gasket as such but you have to use the liquid gasket so it does sound a bit like BS what they said. Hi, You say the engine is not cranking and the Engine management light is on? The light is always on when the ignition is on but should go out once the engine has been started. I think that a constant flash when you do the jumper wire means there are no fault codes stored. If the engine is not cranking I would 1st find out why this is, try slightly moving the gear selector lever in park and neutral when turning the key to start as the inhibitor switch may be faulty/out of adjustment or the starter motor/wiring may be defective. Hi, I don't quite know whether you have a 93 or a 91 but the fuel pump relay is located in the same place, that's on the right front inner fender panel.

Hi, With all these faults now present I would be wondering if they have done the timing belt correctly!!! The water leak from the freeze plug ( we call them core plugs in the UK) seems a bit iffy to me as these generally start to leak slowly and you would have seen evidence of this in the past under the car. I have never heard of one failing especially at the back of the engine where there is no exposure to the outside world plus these engines have the best anti corrosion antifreeze to prevent block damage. The heater will not work if you are loosing coolant because as you lose the coolant the heater matrix will also drain out ( it's worrying that the garage doesn't know this fact and told you it must have been like it before!) I should get a 2nd opinion to make sure it's not a leak from the "new" water pump. The fault code you have for the camshaft sensor sounds like it's either been damaged or the wiring to it has during the "belt change" also the wires and distributors have to be removed during the cambelt change and may have been damaged or if they are the original ones the strain may have been too much for them. I would also look for a good attorney!

Hi, I have looked at the wiring diagram and according to this there is another fuse rated at 15A in the panel at the rear of the parking brake release lever,there is also a defog relay but I cannot locate it's position. Does the light illuminate for the rear defogger? If it does it would indicate the relay is getting power but the switch contacts may be faulty in the relay. Cheers from the UK. I'm back to this problem again... I was driving today and noticed my turn signal didn't work while turning a corner. The next corner it worked, and then the next turn it made a strange sound and quit. Hasn't worked since. Does not blink, click, anything. Checked the fuse, its fine. Wipers, hazards, everything else on the steering column works fine. Any ideas? It was the turn signal flasher....apparently burnt out. Not expensive but rather time consuming to get to the old one out. It's 'on top' of the fuse box by the drivers left foot. Basically you have to take it out and turn it over. To do this you need to removed most of the lower dash, a heater duct, a couple bolts toward the back of the circuit box and a bracket way in the front by the floorboard. You'll also have to unscrew a screw that holds this giant plug onto the bottom of the circuit box. I bet you're pleased that you didn't get Lexus to do it for you!

Hi, If it's the camshaft seal that is leaking it is the engine oil level you need to check not the transmission fluid level so it's the dipstick nearer the front of the car. Make sure the car is on level ground and has been stood for at least an hour, pull out the oil dipstick and wipe it clean.Reinsert it into the tube and push fully in, remove again and check the level on the markings add good quality oil if it is low.

I wish I could fill mine up in the UK but it would cost around $200.00! On average I put in £50.00 ( $100.00) at a time which half fills it. Count yourselves lucky to own an LS400 and have gas at $3.20 a gallon.

Be careful as not only does antifreeze prevent the coolant freezing but it also has additives to prevent internal corrosion of the waterways and engine block. This is especially important on alloy blocks. Lexus also recommend using distilled/ionised water not tap ( sorry UK to US conversion) faucet water. Adding just water will dilute the antifreeze to a point where the anti corrosion properties are removed. Even though you are losing coolant I would top up with a 50/50 mixture of distilled water and antifreeze

The autobox on the LS will not change up to top gear until the transmission fluid is up to normal temperature and I notice mine drags on over run when cold as it is still in 3rd.

If it's fastened behind the diagonal bracing bar it will be the remote control receiver it uses the rear screen heater as the aerial.

Hi, According to the wiring diagrams the common 12 volt feed to the drivers control panel for the windows is a blue wire connected to pin # 8, this also supplies the independant window switches so could be a break in the wire to the drivers panel. Another possible cause could be the power window relay unit. Cheers, Steve
