  1. My key gets stuck when I turn off the car,it comes out after pulling and moving it around. The funny thing is my spare key won't go in all the way,and they both seem exactly alike to me.It is a 1993 LS 400 with 170000 miles and runs great???
  2. sorry guys it was rear differenial, my bad.But anything about a rear differential leaking would be helpfull. Thanks
  3. Thanks for your help dcfish,is this considered a regular and easily fixed problem? Thanks
  4. I made a mistake earlier saying it was my rear seal leaking, thats why I didn't understand the responses I recieved.I need to know if this is a big deal or not,my mechanic said he check some things and get back to me ,he hasn't.I just talked to a buddy of mine who could tear apart and put together engines from the 60's and 70's.He said the amout i'm losing doesn't sound like a big deal at all.Any help from people who have had this problem would really help me.Thanks
  5. Steve thats the rear camshaft seal,I can't tell you how confused i'm right now, dcfish says tranny fluid and you say engine oil, thanks for your help,I think i'm still in need of more imfo.thanks guys
  6. Thanks again,I did read that yesterday and its more along the lines of my problem. Can I live with this leak just by checking the dipstick for the tranny, and can I fill without being on a lift. The sight you sent me to was awesome, but there is absolutely no way I could do that job.And if I can't live with the problem do you know the cost to replace the rear seal. Thanks dcfish you've been very helpfull
  7. dcfish I read those links you gave me,but i'm talking about the rear seal, back at the other end of the cam shaft. You can probably tell i'm no mechanic, but I do know great cars when I see them. Thanks
  8. I did about 300 miles before he rechecked it,where is that other dipstick located? there wasn't much leakage after the 300miles but it cocerns me as I love this car.Its even better than my Lincoln Mark 8 I loved for 5 years. Thanks for your help dcfish
  9. Your car looks great, that price seems really fair to me,118000 miles is nothing.Good luck to you,if I didn't just by my 93 I'd be checking it out.Nightrain
  10. dcfish, I thought that was a differant oil source?
  11. Hi guys I just bought my LS 400 a couple of weeks ago and when I was getting it inspected,my mechanic told me the rear seal was leaking. He completely cleaned it and told me to drive it on the weekend, since the oil level was full.Anyway when I went back on Mon. it was of course leaking for sure.My big question is this, how would you know when theoil gets to low, without putting it on a lift, and can you just live with this problem.I read some guy said his was leaking for 2 years. Thanks
