  1. LOL! Nah, it's not illegal. I mean.....when you're by yourself doing 80 on a public freeway, you'll get pulled over, but if you're with a big group of people doing 120, it's ok. :D
  2. Calvin: From what I've heard from people, the Borla mufflers sound almost stock at idle, maybe just a little deeper. At a higher RPM you can hear quite a bit more throatiness than stock. Greddy MX on the other hand is quite a bit more in-your-face (sound and look) DTDLex: You should just do the install yourself. It's all bolt-on. No welding required. Hardest part is getting the old muffler hangers out of the little rubber parts but with some patience it can be done.
  3. 50-60K Sounds about right. Use some needle-nose clamps on both incoming and outgoing fuel lines of the filter and you shouldn't get that much gas on you.
  4. An F-body having lower repair bills than a Lexus? That'll be the day. There's a reason I went from a 98 Camaro to a 96 Lexus, and it wasn't to increase my bills. Something broke in the camaro every few thousand miles. Not sure whether this kid actually saved up enough to buy his own or his parents are nice, but if it's the 2nd then I'm pretty sure they'll cover his initial expenses for him as well. If I could turn back time, I don't think I'd get the Lexus to begin with just because after experiencing the Camaro, this car is God's gift.
  5. Sounds very strange to me. It's a known fact that the cigarrete lighter needs to be fused. There have been numerous people who have dropped dimes into their cigarrete lighters. Repairs cost them about $1.99 from Radio Shack.
  6. A guy in my area is selling the tubing off the Phoenix(Phenix?) Departure II exhaust. I'm seriously considering it. He wants $300 for it. By "it" he means 3" pipes from the cat to the mufflers(so mufflers not included). He says there's one resonator per side. I checked with a local performance shop and they said it runs for $1400+shipping(Japan) with the mufflers. Slap some Borla mufflers on those 3" pipes and I should get a nice roar. What do you guys think?
  7. That's beyond odd. There should be a fuse on the cigarette lighter that pops at about 15amps. If that happened to me, I'd tear the dealership a new @$$hole. Anyone have any opinions on how this might have happened?
  8. Hey Lexual, In your video, do you have straight pipes (with an H) running from the catalytic converter to the Magnas or do you have resonators? Your exhaust sounds really good at just above idle, but it's not quite right at high RPMs.
  9. My main question is.....how the f*ck? Was the radar detector plugged into the car lighter or did you hardwire it to the car yourself? $2900? ? ?? ???
  10. I'm not sure whether you're saying yours is adjustable or it isn't. A good bar is adjustable so you can adjust it to the way you drive. How does it look mounted? Have you noticed any difference at all in cornering?

  14. Oh yeah.....did I mention I hate rich people? :P
  15. I don't do much rallying in my car so I wanted it more for looks. It looks really nice to me. I don't like the plain rod going across and this one isn't plain. If it stiffens up the front even a smidge for that price, I'll be twice as happy. BlackSC4: I haven't ordered one yet cuz I want to make sure it looks like what's in the picture. So I'm waiting for you to get yours and comment. =)
  16. Were you driving around with your parking brake up? j/k or am I? It's possible that the handbrake cable got stuck somewhere but it's unlikely. Can't really tell from where I'm sitting.
  17. :D I am useful after all. It seems to me that the prices aren't that bad, especially on the Borla mufflers. I've seen them elsewhere for around $600-650 Anyways, lemme know how the strut bar works out for you.
  18. I've been looking aroudn for a strut bar for a while, and here's what I came across: http://www.procarparts.com/store-detail.as...X92SC%2D6850SBX I think for $40 it's a steal. Opinions?
  19. What do you have on your car that requires change in the fuel curve? You have an intake or biggger injectors, or do you just not give a *BLEEP* about nature? :D
  20. I usually know mine out with a nice big mallet. Tip: If you go my route, take a nut that goes onto that bolt and thread it till the top of the nut aligns with the tip of the bolt so you're not hitting just the bolt. If you repeatedly hit the bolt, and the tip turns into a mushroom shape, it might get stuck. Dunno if I explained that clearly.
  21. :D Is that why you bought it? the moving lights? j/k What's wrong with in between your head-unit and AC controls? Plain as day is good =) I wish I could put it there but I have the stock headunit and am therefore thinking of putting it in front of the AC vents. I never blast heat in my face, so that's fine, and I'll still be able to blast the AC during the hot summer days (when the SAFC might need cooling :D) Hardest part of getting it up to the visor would deninitely be in extending the wires. The trim comes off and goes back on prety easy. I had the stupid microhone from the non-working analog phone up there and i took it out in less than 5 minutes.
  22. 1) Did you actually try pushing it in slow and starting the car and it didn't work? or did you just listen to what he said and kicked the clutch? 2) By "unable to get it in" do you mean that it was just taking a bit too much force for your taste? If this is the case, the trick I learned from my trusty mechanic is, while still applying pressure into the right/down direction, let the clutch out just a little bit. It should then slip right in. 3) That's the difference between a shifter and a !Removed!: the softer the shift, the better. (Yes I said !Removed!) Sounds like a decent deal. Ask if the waterpump, timing belt, etc have been replaced. If not, tell him they should have been and offer $6500 Make sure you plan on keeping this car for a while because you might have trouble reselling it for a decent price (because of the salvage title) Otherwise it sounds like a decent deal to me. Good luck.
  23. Alrighty. Thanks for all the info Bean. I guess I'll just wait for the damn thing to come in and wire it the way it says in the manual. Separate thanks for the "reset" instructions. I knew it should be in there somewhere. I've never seen groudning be this tricky, and definitely never seen an improperly done ground blow *BLEEP* up, unless of course the positive and ground are reversed. (Don't ask how I know) I'll keep you guys posted on how this install goes. Bean: Where'd you mount yours by the way?
  24. So you've wired yours to an SC? If yes, how did you choose which of the knock sensors to use?
