  1. Marxus0867, I had Continental Conti-Pro Contacts on my last car, they are great tires for the money. The knock on them was they have weak side walls. Let us know how you like them, I almost bought some for my GS the other day.
  2. You should trade it for a GS350 AWD, that thing is pretty good in the snow and faster than your GS400.
  3. OTD includes all those fees and taxes but taxes can varies depending on where you live and if you have a trade in or not. I just paid $47000 for a 08 GS350 AWD, not out the door though. You can do better than $1500 over invoice if you are willing to do some research and shop around. Start by emailing all the internet managers in your area and ask for invoice price and go from there. If you buy at the end of the month or even better at the end of the quarter, you can get better deals. Remember, anything is negociable, the 2 fees I have mentioned above and even the Documentation fee.
  4. Dont forget to add the Lexus advertising fee the invoice which is usually $600 to $800 and the dealer finanical reserve which is another $600 to $800. When in doubt, just ask the dealer to show you his invoice sheet.
  5. Lexus didnt change the rotor material, they change the pad material. The 07 GS came with a high friction pad that has a short life and produce a lot of brake dust. There is a TSB from Lexus to address the brake dust problem that involves changing the front pads to metallic pads to reduce brake dust. Since the metallic pads are harder, they may cause more squeaking. Brembo makes a very good rotor and has a londer life than OEM.
  6. I would call around the dealers in your area to see what they have in stock. The price on Edmunds is nice to use as a reference, but Lexus usually bundle the ML option with bunch of other options. To see what option packages are bundled with the ML in your area. You need to go to the Lexus web site and use the built your own GS function. Enter your zip code in and you will see all the option packages in your region. My guess is that any GS with the ML syetem will MSRP for about $54000 to $55000. For a non ML GS, expect to pay about invoice to $1500 over invoice. Since ML GS is harder to find, expect to pay more.
  7. Nope, the 08 comes with gen 5 software, Lexus change the bypass and no one knows what it is now.
  8. That procedure works, I did it on my GS 2 weeks ago. The only thing is that instead of hold the odo/trip button for 10 sec, its more like 30 sec to a min.
  9. natestergx, did your GX comes with the optional 3rd row seat from the factory and the used Lexus dealer just didnt give them to you? If your GX did not come with that option, you do not have the barckets for a 3rd row seat and the brackets are really expensive to install. One easy way to tell is that the 3rd row seat option comes with the rear AC system. Do you have a HVAC control panel in the rear of your center concole and air vents on top of the 2nd row seat doors?
  10. Why not just go to aftermarket leather seat installers. They can match the color and quality and just replace the leather part of the seat, not the whole seat. A company such as Katskins do a very good job on leather seats and will look just like the original.
  11. The front brake pads are high friction brake pads, on the Lexus website, I believe it said that it can last as short as 20000 miles. There is a TSB out there for low dust brake pads which is supposed to last longer. Check with your dealer to see if it applies to your car.
  12. The problem with carmax is that you will not have the option to buy a certified pre-own with the extended warranty, but as long as your Lexus is still under the original bumper to bumper warranty, you can still buy the extended warranty from Lexus. BTW, the 06 GS is a 1st year redeign and there quite a few owners who had a lot of problems with it.
  13. sorry, wrong forum
  14. Or you can try ebay, its a lot cheaper there. You will need to find a specialty shop to cut the key for you for maybe $20. If you have 1 key, there is a way to program yourself. I dont have the procedure, or you can get the dealer to program it for you.
  15. Pretty much all new cars in the US have ECU, if you mean the computer that controls the fuel air mixture.
  16. Yep, thats exactly it.
  17. I never do those thing, I just go into the dealer and ask for fluid changes and sometime filters. No inspections.
  18. When you did the work on your car, you disconnted the battery, so you already reset the ecu. Just give it some time and the ecu will learn your driving style and adjust accordingly.
  19. The ML system in the GS is ok, the ML on the GX, LX and LS is better.
  20. ahearn, is your GS a 08. I just bought mine and it has RFT and a spare.
  21. I dont think its a weight saving thing, the 08 with run flat now comes with a donut. KevincLee, let us know how you made out. I am also thinking about going to regular tires when my runflat wears out. I know in the old days, run flats requires special rims, I believe thats not the case anymore.
  22. 4K more is a good dealer for a 460, you made the right move.
  23. I think you can only change to metric on the Nav. display. You cannot change the odometer and temp to metric.
  24. Sounds like one of your sensor have a intermittent problem.
