  1. I agree, always change the oil filter with every oil change. Some people even change the oil filter in between oil changes.
  2. In the old days, people use to change the oil the 1st time at 1000 miles to get rid of the metal shavings. Car manufacturers makes engine part to much tighter tolarance these days, so there is really no need. I have not seen any proof that Lexus uses a break in oil like Honda does. There is no need to chance the oil at 1000 miles but if it make you feel better, change it at 2500 to 3000 miles.
  3. As with most Toyota and Lexus speakers, its not a straight forward switch as far as mounting is concerned. You will need to modify the mounting brackets or make a adapter.
  4. The dealer is wrong as usual, I have adaptive headlights and I just adjusted them myself. The GS dont make it easy for you to adjust the headlights. You need to remove all the engine covers and the adjustment screw for the low beam vertical is way inside the fender. Tou need a #2 phillip screwdriver with a 12 inch shaft to get to the adjustment screw.
  5. Thats not the clunk that this TSB is refering to. Thats just the rpm going up which is normal.
  6. Nope, no vibration what so ever. Its as vibration free as my old GX470, cant even tell if the car is on or not. I have the same GS350 AWD. Nature of the beast, lol, thats a good one. What beast? a Ford F350? Ask your dealer to start up another GS350 and let it warm up to normal rpm and compare the vibration. I know there have been a few complains about 350 AWD with vibration problems, is your rpm normal? Some thinks its the engine mount, but to tell you the truth, I dont think the dealer or Lexus have a clue as to whats causing this. If the vibration is really bad, I would keep filing complains about the vibration to the dealer and to Lexus and try to get them to buy the car back. Just the other day, there was a 07 GS350 AWD on ebay with vibration problem selling at a very low price, I bet it was a dealer buy back.
  7. The reception on my 08 GS350 is fine, do you have tinted windows? Sometimes when I brake, the GS pulls right or left, but I think thats due to the raod conditions. My GS does not pull to one side while driving. The Gen 5 is bluetooth is more compattible. The Mark Levinson sound a little bit better than OEM. The OEM system sounds real good already. To truely hear the ML's capability, you need to listen to it with a DVD music disc. The Navi is useful if you have a need for it :) A fully loaded GS350 AWD with ML is about $53000, some have been able to buy it for $46000.
  8. The dunlop sport 2050 are not run flats but most owners complain about how noisy they are, Change them if you are looking for better performance and quieter ride. You can find out what version you have by hitting the info button next to the Nav unit. In the USA, its up to gen 5 and software version 7.1. Thats might not be the case in Saudi Arabia.
  9. No you dont need to initialize the TPMS when you change tire pressure, it should have enough play in it that the alarm wont go off. I cwould check your driver door jam to see what is the recommanded PSI for your tires.
  10. If its the Dunlop sport 5000, then they are run flats. Run flats can be noisy on the highway. You can change them to regular tires and it will be quieter, make sure you have a spare tire. The nav software can be purchase from the dealer. Since you just bought the car and its a 08, I would ask your dealer to upgarde it to version 7.1 for free.
  11. There is no change for the 06 onward as far as the front end is concerned. I believe just the grill change on the 08 to a darker chrome.
  12. Do you feel a push from the back when you hear the clunk?
  13. I have the dunlop run flats, I run them at 33 psi.
  14. The noise on the highway may be cause by the run flat tires, I am assuming you have run-flat tire. The I agree button on the nav can be disable by the lock pick module some have put in their GS to bypass nav lockout while driving. The 08 GS350 here in the USA does not have the I agree button anymore.
  15. Acetone is a solvent, adding that to your gas is a bad idea since acetone is corrosive. It will eat away at your o-ring, gaskets and rubber gas line.
  16. My GS is the same way. If you are on a hill, you are suppose to push the e brake all the way down.
  17. Armor all is not going to hurt anything. Most people dont use that on the dash because its too shiney and too oily and it attracts dust.
  18. How about going back to the normal center console arm rest.
  19. I think it has to do with the outside temp vs the inside temp and where you set the temp setting. Say on a hot summer day, outside temp is 90 and inside temp is 110, it will switch to outside air intake to try to cool down the interior.
  20. Used Filter Analysis? Just take it out and look at it. Better yet just replace it, you can get one on ebay for like $20. And yest its behind the glove box. There is also a Hepa filter somehwere too, I dont know where that one is.
  21. Hit the push start button without stepping on the brake after the car is shut off, this will put you in the radio mode. Push the button again and you are in accessory mode, push it one more time and the electricals are off.
  22. Some 08 still have the problem.
  23. In theory, you should be able to cover all blind spot with your side view mirror, The area where it is not covered should be able to pick up by turning your head. You may want to consider one of those small curve mirrors that truck drivers use on the top corner of their side mirrors to cover the blind spots.
  24. Thats the clunk. When you stop at a red light. A second or 2 after you comes to a complete stop, you feel a slight push as if some car tap you from the back.
  25. The conti series tires will give you a very comfortable ride, the tarde off is weaker sidewalls. As with any vehicle with runflats, when you switch them to non runflats, amke sure you have a spare tire.
