  1. The built-in Lexus aux port is just that. You can get after market adapter that will allow you to control the ipod from the Navi LCD. I personally don't have one but have read a lot of good stuff about the company below. http://www.vaistech.com/ Good luck
  2. I heard calling the local AAA office and ask for the local AAA approved dealer then contact that dealer. From what I know all dealers bid for the rights to AAA and they are required to offer that price when you ask. They can not go higher but you can bargain down. I heard Costco has a similar program but AAA is lower. Of course go to kbb.com or edmunds.com and request quotes from local dealers. I bought my 2006 GX from Lexus of Cerritos. The online price I got was $1,500 below the AAA dealer price. I dealt with the fleet manager and he just got the job and was trying to promote the department. Hope that helps.
  3. Unfortunately the steps did not work for my 2006 GX 470. Does anyone have the correct steps? Thanks, Ryan
  4. Depends on how large and what type of tires are on them. $1,250 sounds like a decent price. Got my 22" DUB with tires for $2,800 at a wheel place. If they are the same size and style as the stock rims only chrome plated then personally I don't think they are worth it. Hope that helps.
  5. The key came in yesterday. I was able to lock/unlock the door with it but I didn't have time to try the programming steps. I'll try today and update. The total was $160 with shipping and cutting. Plus it has the gold L on the back. BTW - I just realize the 1.pdf file I uploaded was provided by schan1w earlier on this thread...I searched around so much regarding this issue that forgot where I got the info. Ryan
  6. I ordered my key from lexus-parts.com 2/21 and I'm still waiting for it. As for the steps I will upload the image of the steps I have...hopefully they save you $25.
  7. I found these steps and have verified they worked for my 2006 Lexus GX 470. This will allow the passenger (as we all know the driver shouldn't be doing it) to enter the address while the SUV is moving. I only have one Lexus so I don't know if the same steps will work for other Lexus models. Hope they worked for yours. With the Navi on tap Menu tap Volume tap upper left of the display once tap lower left of the display once tap upper left of the display once tap lower left of the display once a menu of options should appear, press and hold the Override option until you hear a beep then let go hit the address button and you should be able to enter the address while driving This only works until you turn off the Navi so next time you're on the road you must do it again...only takes seconds to do and works great! Enjoy and drive safely.
  8. Hi and thank you for viewing. I have a 2006 GX 470. I bought it without the DVD entertainment system because I didn't like looking at the flipped down LCD in the rear view mirror plus it would be hard for my small kids in the second room to watch movies. I got an after market system with behind the headrest LCDs, DVD play, and wireless headsets. Everything works fine but here are the issues. - They used a FM Modulator so the sound is not good and sometime there are lots of static or no sound at all - Only ppl in the back can view the DVD so it is hard for the front (driver and front passenger) to navigate the DVD such as skipping intro, or to a specific part Below is what I ultimately want to accomplish with your help. - Hook the DVD player directly to the Lexus sound system - Trash the FM Modulator - Modify the front Nav LCD to view the same DVD movie as the back. If this means having to get a new DVD player that's fine. - Nav DVD plays movie while driving. I know that is a lot to ask in one post but I hope this will help others too. Thanks, Ryan
  9. Thank you everyone. None of the locksmiths around my area can cut Lexus key and none of the dealers around my area will cut a key not sold by them because they said after market keys are made with softer metal than Lexus key so they don't recommend therefore won't do it. I will contact lexus-parts.com Thanks again.
  10. Hi, I lost my 2006 GX 470 key over the weekend and the local dealer said it will cost $290 for the key/remote and another $53 to program/cut. Does anyone know a better way? I still have one key and the key PIN. Thank you, Ryan
