  1. $38K is a ok deal, but with the GS's rattle and brake squeaking problem, they are not selling too well. My dealer have tons of used ones on the lot, you can do a bit better than $38K.
  2. Hopefully he wont get the creaking and rattling like most of us do. There are a lot of *BLEEP* off owners out there who paid $50,000 for a car that rattles when new.
  3. The GS has to be a black eye for Lexus. It does not live up to the Lexus stardard as far quality, workmanship and a solid design. I dont think anyone who pay this much for a car should have top put up with a squeaky dashboard, especially when it is cause by a $2 dashboard clip. Performance wise, it is disapointing as well. The ride is too stiff for it's handling, Lexus still have a way to go when it comes to suspension design.
  4. No one knows for sure, its just a rumor, but it will be around that time give or take a year or 2.
  5. Are you really surprise that a Apple product is not compatable :)
  6. They fix my dash rattle twice and every time it came, I ended up trading it in.
  7. If your dash is squeaking, then its the famous dash board squeak. Its the dash board clips between the windshield and the dasg board. They need to take your whole dash board apart, replace or pad the clips and pad every thing that comes in contact with other things. Its a big job, takes about 8 hours.
  8. The Nav lock out is the same reason why the GX dont have HID light. Lexus knows what is good for you, they want to set some kind of example. Its a good thing no one else is following in their foot step.
  9. Its funny what some people consider stable and what some people consider un-stable. It must have to do to what car they are comparing it to. If you compare the GX to a Humvie or a 1985 Chevy, then its very stable at high speed. If you compare the GX to a Porsche, then it is unstable at high speed.
  10. Try starting the car and put the keys inside your house and see if the message is on the dash.
  11. There is a plug in module for the nav over ride you can buy, I would stick with 91 octane, 89 dont really save you much money.
  12. They replace the dash console clips, not the dash console itself. I hate to have them take my whole dash board apart like that, it almost never get put back together as good as the factory did.
  13. I agree, BMW does have crappy interiors. Both the E class and the Audi A6 are quieter than the GS. The A6 handles better than the GS and yet the ride is just as comfortable. German cars have come a long way in reliability, they have made the more improvement in the last 5 years in reliability. Just stay away from the 1st or 2nd year design German cars and you will be fine.
  14. The little sensor under the 3rd brake light is a light sensor for your gauge's lense, they turn slightly blue when its bright outside.
  15. The car should not shut down with the valet key, it has a immobilizer chip in it just like the other 2 keys. My guess is that the chip in the valet key is bad or the immobilzer computer is bad. Either way, you will need to pay the Lexus dealer a visit. Good Luck
  16. The GS doesnt have the typical Lexus ride to begin with, but if you put 20" rims on any car, it will ride like you have no shocks.
  17. Thats the brake booster pump, call lexus headquarter and see if they are willing to troubleshoot further.
  18. kromeit123, what pump did the dealer change exactly?
  19. Did your wife give him the finger :) ?
  20. The 20000 miles schedule maintenance is just check this and check that, you dont really need it. Just change your oil rotate the tires and check the fluids and you will fine. On the other hand, I would never bring a Lexus into jiffy lube, you are just asking for problems. If you want to save money, go to a Toyota dealer, not Jiffy Lube.
  21. It is excessive for a Lexus but actually about average for any other car. The 3GS have been a problem design from day one, it is very unlike Lexus like. Look at it this way, its all minor issues, nothing major.
  22. Does the GS350 have a different high beam system than the GS300, please? Look in your manual, is there a seperate low and high beam adjustment in the GS300?
